Yesterday mom and dad took me to the vet for a rabies shot. What a horrible experience! It's not that I am afrain of the vet, or care about being handled or stuck with a needle. But I hate, hate, HATE to leave my palace! For any reason! I gave the humans a big lecture on the subject while we were in the car, but they didn't seem to be paying attention.

Meow--and then to get insulted, too! The vet put me on the scale, and found that my magnificent presence had increased nearly a pound since last year. He said I need to downsize--how disagreeable! I hope dad, who is in charge of refilling my food dish, is not getting any bright ideas about making me wait longer when it is empty. I simply won't stand for it! *flips tail angrily*

Athena, you need to do what I do when it's time to go to the vet...HIDE! The last time, I made myself unavailable and Mommy had to cancel my appointment three times before she finally caught me. Tiny, he's not very smart. because I see when Mommy gets the carrier out and get to disappearing, but he actually lets himself get caught! The last time he went, I of course got hide ride away, but even when Tiny came home, I didn't come out right away. After all, I might have been next! But finally I realized the coast was clear. I hope Mommy doesn't get any ideas about how I need a checkup. She thinks she's slick and I won't know what's going on when she makes that appointment.

Downsizing? Whatever for? You are a curvy and voluptuous woman, Athena! There's nothing wrong with that!
