Dr. Gavaletz called with the results of my lab work. Yes, the mole was a melanoma, but no, it had not yet become malignant. It was discovered in time. Mom and dad are so happy and relieved!

There is some possibility that it might grow back one day in the same spot (Dr. Gavaletz's own cat had one grow back after two years), but if so, it will just have to be removed again, right away. Mom and dad will keep an eye on that area, and ask Aunt Aimee to look at it from time to time also.

He said that unlike doggies, we kitties are very prone to this problem so any moles or growths on us should always be checked and most likely removed at once.

Wonderful news!!! Mom always checks us and yes it is important to check your kitties...glad you are OK and they found it in time to have it removed....
