Arrival Story:
Being a Mom of two I can hear anything. One night I woke up to little meows outside my bedroom window. It was getting cold outside so I had to investigate. The next morning I did see three furballs run by me. The orange one was the ring leader, I think it was his stomach that was making him brave. I knew I had to do something before the snow came. I borrowed a humane trap and got to work. Within minutes I had the little orange kitten, followed by his brother and sister. They were the definition of ferral! It took us a very long time to get us to trust them. The first time I took them to my vet (the must really love me) one took off and was running wild through the vets office. We fattened them up and got rid of those nasty fleas. After a month they were not scared of humans and the little girl in the group found a home. The brothers were the only two left. I missed my dear Bart so much I wanted to keep the orange one. Leave it to my girls to come up with a plan. Each of them would get a kitten for Christmas.

Bio:
Mavis is also known as the fradie cat in the family. When someone he does not know comes over he runs upstairs and hides. Once he warms up to you watch out! He will be in your lap rubbing his face all over you. He is a lover more than a fighter but when him and his brother Fester go at it the whole house can hear. Mavis has also been diagnosed with FLUTD. We try to give him wet food to help with his water consumption but he just doesnt like it at all. We even bought one of those water fountains for him to encourage him to drink. So far things are going good. He has a flare up now and then but has his "spot" where he lets us know. Other than that you can find Mavis in Jessica's room, napping on her bed.
