Cat of the Day - WOW!!!

Omicat!! We haven't been on catster for a few days but I'm sure glad we checked in today! WOW - I'm Cat of the Day!!! I'm so excited I'm bouncing off the walls!

Thank you, thank you catster for this wonderful honor. I never expected this to happen to me. My older brother Dexter, who is at the Bridge now, got to be Cat of the Day once and he told me what a pawsome feeling it was. He came to me in a dream to tell me how proud he and Molly and Alice are of me.

Well, what makes catster the most pawsome place ever are all the wonderful friends we have made here. I really, really want to thank all my kitty friends, old and new for the concats and the gifts. I hope I don't leave anyone out of my thank yous but if I do, please come by and hiss at me!

Hi catsters!

Just have to share the fun and exciting (at least for me and mom!) news that I am in a calendar for 2008!!! It's the 2008 kittens hardcover engagement calendar and I'm the kitten for the week of July 13! It's a photo from summer of 2006 taken by my Uncle Anthony and Auntie Carol when I was just a little guy. We put the photo on my page - sorry it's not great quality. Mom made a color copy from the calendar and then scanned it but at least you can see what it looks like.

Very mysterious!

Well, I'm back from the vet. But before I say anything else I just have to say how utterly PAWSOME my catster friends are!!! I only updated my diary a few hours ago and already I have a bunch of healing rosettes and well wishes from a bunch of my catster friends!!! I am so touched. That alone is probably enough to make me better!!

The strange thing is they couldn't figure out what, if anything, is wrong with me! I don't have a temperature and the v-e-t couldn't feel or see anything wrong with me. They did X-rays and couldn't see anything abnormal there either! Maybe I was just having a bad morning. Not sure why.

Dexter thinks I was trying to con Mom into staying home and it backfired on me! MOL! But I swear on a bag of Yum Yum treats that is not true!!

Anyway, they gave me fluids and said to watch me and if I seemed to still be sick to bring me back in and they could do further tests. I'm going to try really hard not to be sick anymore because I don't want to go back to the v-e-t anytime soon!!! He stuck something up my rear end and poked and prodded me and jeez, it's just not fun. To say the least.

Mom gave us an early dinner because when I got home I was sooo hungry!! The best thing about all of this is because I had to spend hours at the vet, we got TUNA for a treat!! Tuna is my FAVORITE!! PURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
And I scarfed it so fast, Mom thought I magicked it away! (what's the opposite of "accio" HP fans?? MOL!) But I actually ate it all up.

So it's a mystery as of now, and if I don't get sick again, we're purrrfectly happy for it to remain a mystery!! Thanks again, so so much to my wonderful Catster friends for the rosettes and well wishes. I am so grateful for my catster friends. What did we ever do without them?!

Not feeling so good today... : (

Today when Mommy got up, I was curled up on the couch and showed no interest in following her to the kitchen to get breakfast and hang out. She brought some food to me right on the couch but even then I wasn't interested. I just seem to have no energy or appetite this morning. It's not like me at all because even when I'm not hungry I follow Mom around because I always want to be where the action is, especially in the morning.

Also, Mom noticed that during the night one of us threw up and one of us pooped in the hallway. *blush* Um, can't remember if that was me.

She called the v-e-t and they think I should come in so she's going to leave work at noon and take me to the yucky v-e-t as an emergency since they have no appointments today.

Neither of us has any idea what it could be but hopefully nothing serious. Anyway, we'd appreciate a few purrrrs, hopefully just for today but Mom is worried and I am a little too. I have things to do and siblings to attack! I don't have time to be sick!!

Another Sad Day

We've all been so sad this week because Dexter's sweet Queen Cleopatra (Cleo) - *Cleo* has gone to the Bridge. She was 18 years old and had a very good life and was so very well loved. She fought hard to stay with her family but her time came. We really love her and her Mom and all her family and are just heartbroken. And I know my Uncle Giotto who lived with her in Milan must be missing her terribly. We're so sorry Uncle Giotto! Sending lots and lots of love and good thoughts to her whole family, especially her bereft mother Anja.

Well, another really terrible, heartbreaking thing happened yesterday. My Mom came home last night and as usual fed us first thing and then went outside to feed the Magnificent 7, but at the foot of the stairs she found our neighbor's cat, Oscar, lying down in the sun. At first she thought he was napping but he didn't respond and when she looked closer, she saw that his eyes were glassy and he had drooled on the ground. She wasn't certain he was dead but could not find a heartbeat.

She ran up the stairs and pounded on our neighbor's door but he wasn't home. So mom called a friend to come over with her car (our Mom doesn't drive) to take Oscar to the vet. Then she tracked down Oscar's daddy's phone number and called him to meet us there. Sadly Oscar had already gone to the Bridge.

Oscar was a big, black, long-haired cat, not quite 4 years old and so sweet. Mommy catsat for him a couple of weeks ago and thought he was just a darling, affectionate boy. There was absolutely no outward sign of trauma so the vet thinks he either ate something that poisoned him or it was his heart because neither of those things would show.

Mommy was sad for dear Oscar and for his poor Daddy. Oscar was not sick at all, or didn't seem to be, and was so young. It was a big shock. Oscar is not a catster kitty but please think good thoughts and send prayers and love to Oscar and his grieving Dad.

Bless you, Oscar. We loved you and we're sorry you had to go so soon.

1) I only purr when I'm alone with Mom, and Dexter and Molly aren't in the room, except sometimes at playtime I get really excited and purrr while I'm running around! (Mom says I'm the only cat she's ever known to run and purrr at the same time!)

2) I love my Mom tons and tons but when I get kind of hyper I sometimes grab her arm with all four claws AND my teeth and grab on. Her arms are a little bit scratched up. *blush*

3) I have a very high pitched meow and sometimes I trill. I talk a LOT!

4) I want to be friends with Dexter but my idea of playing is to attack him so he doesn't really like me too much.

5) Molly sometimes can scare me - you should hear her hiss!! - but sometimes she likes me if I'm quiet and just cuddle up next to her.

6) I like to sit in the kitchen window and watch the ferals and the neighbor cats outside.

7) I love to eat and I'm getting a little plump! (don't tell my girlfriend Bella!) My favorites are tuna and my shredded fish treats and Mom's yogurt.

Today is my first birthday and I just got the BEST birthday present I could have gotten!!!!

My beautiful, wonderful, witty, sweet, brilliant, purrrfect catster crush and Valentine has agreed to be my one and only GIRLFRIEND!!!! Omicat!! I can hardly believe it!! PURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

It was what I wanted more than anything, so my birthday is officially purrrfect!

Not only that, my wonderful Bella sent me some fabulous gifts and a really super sweet, romantic *blush* birthday card. She sent me four really cute mousies, which I've already whacked around quite a bit! I also had quite a good time with the shredded packing paper and the tissue paper! MOL!! AND, even better, a laser pointer!!!! It's so cool!!! I've been chasing that red thing all over the place and I haven't caught it even once! Drat!! But I will keep trying - it can't escape my lightning fast white paws forever!!!

And meowmy said we get to have TUNA for dinner!!! Yay, my favorite!!

And Dexter and Molly are both feeling great today!!! *crosses paws* Meowmy says to knock on wood. Meowmy's can be very strange...

And I've gotten so many wonderful gifts and messages from my fabulous catster friends! It makes me feel so very special and loved! I pawmis to thank each and every cat as soon as I can.

I am the happiest kitty in the world right now. *sigh* I think I will take a little pre-dinner (tuna!!) nap and hope that I dream about my lovely, purrrfect GIRLFRIEND Bella.

Tomorrow is a big day for me and even more for, ahem, my favoritest girl!!!

It's my favoritest girl's 1st birthday - YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! It's also the day she will tell everybody who her Valentine is. Have you figured it out yet, you smart kitty cats? *giggle* I'm not telling!!!

And that's not all! She also has a secret crush on some lucky kitty!! I have one too!! I pawmised not to tell mine until she told hers. And she's going to tell hers on her birthday. I sure hope hers is who I think is!! I mean, who I hope it is!!! *blush*
