Murray's Story

Do you remember the good old days when we would gather on Catster to help a fellow cat and their humans in need?

I really thought the company would run with that good publicity, and be proud to be a part of it. Seems I was wrong. I never saw them say much about it.

We helped Aldo get to a forever home when his first mom died and we helped Muppet get life-saving surgery that cost thousands of dollars. People are too fond of dollars in my opinion.

Some cats feel Catster is no longer a fun place or a comfortable place to be so they've left or don't visit here much. (I agree it's not as much fun as it used to be). The helping paw efforts that used to happen here are now being coordinated off site.

Which brings me to my point! Smudge's family (of Smudge and Bob fame) is going through some really terrible times and is desperately in need of dollars.

So there's an auction going on at:

Catster is in the name but I don't think it's officially associated with catster in any way. Just a lot of us initially met here. So don't assume Catster has approved or sanctioned this auction - they have not been consulted.

But it's for a good cause, so pop in over the next several days. It just got started, so more things will be added as we go.

My Bridge Story

I'm moving my diaries and making new friends at the same time, so here's my story of how I came to the bridge.

I had a stroke. It caused paralysis and I had several other health problems. My vet said all of my problems were treatable and I was a strong cat so he opted to give me prescription food and wait a few days to see what happened.

I ate a lot of the prescription food.

The next day my body started shutting down and Mama helped me to the Bridge. At the time she thought the stroke must have been worse than they thought.

4 months later that same food was on a recall list as having melamine in it during the time I ate it. Of course it was way too late by then.

I may not have survived, but the food took away my only chance. Mama and I are bitter.

Here is the source of my concern about Nutro. Read it before making a decision on what to feed your cat.

The New Site

I took over meowing our opinions of the new site because I am a businesscat.

We've all talked about what works and what doesn't so I'm not going to rehash it here. It's all in the forums and on the Facebook page.

No, I want everyone to think about what Catster did, because it really is pretty funny. The last beings in the universe you should get stirred up is a bunch of cats and their humans! Oh my! Fur has been flying this week. I do have to laugh.

Mama's taking notes too. She's going to roll out a new redesigned product later this year and she's getting a bunch of ideas on what not to do. So top cat Ted's suffering will do somebody good.

I'm at the bridge partly because of bad food, and we can forgive a company that has a bad batch once or twice. But Nutro is a repeat offender. Please don't feed your furs Nutro food. There are so many others to choose from.

I had a stroke and the vet put me on prescription food. I ate it fine and got sicker and sicker until I passed away. Later we found out that food had been tainted with the Chinese melamine. So if I hadn't had the stroke, I wouldn't have eaten the bad food. But I might have recovered if I had good prescription food. Losing me was extremely traumatic for my family.
