FOOD!!! (any kind), her brush
GUNS!!! (her duck hunting training as a pup just didn't work out!), fireworks, thunder, HATES the noise of metal rattling on trailers being pulled down the road in front of our house
everything! (except dog food)
from our house to dad's wood shop and back
smiling :-) when she's happy - or when she thinks she's in trouble (being cute to avoid being scolded), putting her paw in your lap to get your attention
Fuzzy was adopted from an ad in the local newspaper saying "Free to good home..." Evidently, she loves to nap in flower beds, which made her unwelcome at her old home. They threatened to have her put down if someone didn't rescue her soon. She is new to our family in 2007, but a VERY welcome member here!
Fuzzy was really overweight when she arrived here. She had been eating nothing but left-overs of cooked people food sometimes supplemented with the cheapest dry dog food. She is now getting the better organic and natural dog food, with meat in it, and she doesn't really like it very much! She will eat any left-over people food, even mushrooms or green beans, rather than eat the meaty dog food. She is eating enough dog food to stay healthy, but she is losing that extra weight now, and getting more active and healthy as she loses.
Fuzzy's coat was very badly matted when we got her, and it took lots and LOTS of brushing and some scissors to get her cleaned up. She's looking good now! And she has discovered that she really LOVES being brushed. She knows where the brush is kept, and she will walk over to the drawer and look at it, then look at her dad, then look back at the drawer. Dad usually takes the hint and gets the brush out for her!
UPDATE: Fuzzy has now gone to the Rainbow Bridge. She passed very quietly, and apparently without any pain, most likely from a heart attack - on Thursday, June 12, 2008. We miss her VERY MUCH!!!
the Brush is her best friend
When I came to my new home, there were already two little sisters here, one Chihuahua named Squiggles, and one Yorkie named Layli. Layli has a new home now, with a young family that has kids. There's a new brother in my family. His name is Quigley. I hope he helps keep dad from being so sad.

Our sweet big girl Fuzzy passed away on June 12, 2008. She left us quietly, while sleeping, and apparently without any pain, probably from a heart attack. We are missing her VERY MUCH!!!! However, we know that she is in a good place, and with other pup pal friends of hers from Dogster, probably wading in the creeks over there on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, and chasing Frisbees and tennis balls. WE LOVE YOU FUZZY!

We have been having some really radical weather here in the last few months. It got nice and sunny and warm for about a week, then it rained and turned really cold at night, cold enough for my water bowl to freeze solid. But during the day it would be sunshine and nearly 70* again.
Then the nights started warming up, so it didn't freeze for several weeks. Mom and dad thought the cold weather was finished, so they brought all the houseplants outside to get some sun and warm breezes. It stayed that way for several more days, then the weather-man turned against us! Back go all the plants into the house!
We had some severe storms, LOADS of rain, and then it got really cold again. After the first night of below freezing weather, the next day is SNOWED! Yeah, real snow! In March for gosh sakes! We just don't get snow in March usually. Of course, it didn't stick to anything, just fell out of the sky in tons of heavy, wet flakes, and then melted as soon as it touched something. Except for my fur -- when it touched that it just stayed on top of my back and head. I wagged my tail and clumps of snow would fling off across the yard. Dad laughed at me.
I don't really mind the cold, since my fur is so thick, I don't even really feel it much. But I really hate the rain! I don't like to hear the thunder, and it's really tough to find a dry place to lay down, too. So dad made me stay in the house for several days - which I don't mind a bit!
I could get used to this, and in fact, I am! I have found that when I go out for the bathroom, if I give a little nonsense bark, they will let me back inside! This is so cool! I wish I'd found this out sooner. I get to vacuum the kitchen and dining room floor after meals, and that's always nice!
Dad and mom put my soft, warm, furry bed in the corner of the living room, so I can lay on it and watch everything that goes on in the kitchen, which is where my main interest lies. I don't even get fussed at and told to "get out of the kitchen!" like they usually do when I just stand right in the middle of the kitchen floor in the way of everything. You see, I think that if I stand there, they will trip over me or something and I will get a whole pan or plate of food spilled on the floor! It hasn't been working out for me though, because they always tell me to get out of the way. But I keep trying, because if it works once, it would be worth it!

Yesterday my humans' granddaughter came over to visit. She is three and has a lot of smarts! I love kids, and I walked over to her (I hardly ever RUN anywhere... too much work!) and started licking her face. She giggled for a few licks, then she started pushing me away and saying "Eeeewwwww! Quit! Stop it! Eeeeeewwww!"
