Stardust

Our older sister, Stardust left for the Rainbow Bridge Monday morning around 11:00. We're sad but also glad for her. She's 17 1/2 and has lived a long, good life. She's romping with her sister, Twinkle, who left us two years ago at age 15. I'm sure they are having fun.

And she said yes!

I've been seeing a wonderful, pretty furgirl since just before the RNB Masquerade Ball. I just beat another tom to the punch asking her to the dance! She agreed and we had a great time. We all wore masked and danced and ate and drank and I digress...

This pretty furgirl's name is Phoebe and she's a beautiful black and white princess AND her paws smell like buttered popcorn. Cool, huh?

We've been hanging out together at Naughtyham Castle and being snuggly. I thought she wanted more but I wasn't sure I could be the tom she wanted. I did want to enjoy her company until she felt like moving on.

Recently I heard another tom was interested in her and I prickled up. I knew it was her choice and I didn't want her to miss the opportunity to explore her options. She didn't seem all that eager to meet this other tom so we talked at length and last night I asked her to be my furgirlfriend and she said YES!

I have some wonderful girl furfriends who will always hold specials place in my heart but now I have a very special furgirlfriend whom I will adore and hold in my heart always.

Sleep or lack of it

I don't know what I'm going to do with mom. She usually sleeps fairly still and quiet. The last few nights we fall asleep just fine but before long she's moving and stirring and I can't stay snuggled up next to her. I end up at the end of the bed or on the floor. I usually lay on the floor between the bed and the door so I'll get her attention if she gets up during the night. She's noticed the bed looks like a storm has hit it the last few mornings. She doesn't know what is going on either. She doesn't remember having weird dreams but she's been feeling more rested. Now I ask you does that make any sense to you? I tell you, she's a bizarre woman. I'm getting flustered 'cause I'm not enjoying my night times near as much as I use to. Spark isn't phased. She sleeps on the far corner and snores the whole night away.

Long time coming

I can't believe it. Spark took off for Fiji with Ele' and McKenna and wouldn't you know it - she got a Diary Pick of the Day. I talked to Buddie and McKenna did too! So they are off celebrating and we're stuck home with cold and wet and clouds - yuck. I do get mom all to myself for a few days. WooHoo!!!

I snuggle up real close to mom every night and purr for all I'm worth and she pets me until we're both bleary eyed and falling asleep. Spark usually sleeps on a corner of the bed just out of reach. She snores! MOL!!! Don't tell her I said so, she'll whack me for sure.

I've also been checking on my friend Maddy McCatterson and she's off on a cruise! She's been hula dancing and boating and surfing and all kinds of fun stuff. What is with all the furwomen and their tropical jaunts?

My other wonderful friend, Phoebe, isn't on a tropical vacation but she does get to go to their family cabin in the woods in Michigan for long weekends. ~sighs~ Oh to be a travelin' tom. Ah but I have a date with this pretty furgirl for a Valentine's Masquerade Mardi Gras dance. I've never had a date before so I'm keeping my coat extra nice, my whiskers extra clean and I've even watched some dancing show on TV with mom to pick up a few pointers. I think I can waltz rather well and it can be kind of fast or really slow. : )

Time to help mom do some reading and them snuggle time!

Snubbed her

Mom decided to run away from home for 2 whole days and leave me alone with that female feline. When she got home today, I nibbled at the fresh food she put out and then went to lay on the bed. What did she expect, fawning at her feet? I had to snub her for a full 2 hours, maybe more. Mom came to me several times, kissing on my head and petting me. I couldn't help it! I purred!!! I finally decided she had suffered enough and I ran, jumped and landed in her lap - all 18 pounds of me. I'm a little large for even the most generous lap so I did ooze over the edges a little bit but we both enjoyed the attempt. So all's well that ends well.

It's the 1st of the 1st

At least that's what they tell me. I know I said I wouldn't write everyday but it's the first day of a new year. Uh-oh, I just realized I technically missed the 1st. : ( Darn! Oh well it's still early Catster time.

Did efurrykitty have their black-eye peas and cabbage for luck and wealth this year? No? Don't y'all know about this? I'm not sure where or how the tradition got started but in the south we have black-eye peas, cabbage, and ham (don't forget the cornbread) on Jan. 1st to ensure a good year ahead. I guess the ham is for health since the cabbage is wealth and the peas are luck. Personally if I eat these things the litter box becomes rather aromatic, so... perhaps I'll stick to my regular diet. I know, way more info. than you really wanted to know.

It's a new year and a new me

Possibly the same old me but I've decided I cannot allow Sparkle to have all the say in the family. Now she's the Fur-lots-a-phur and manages to have something to say everyday. I will limit my entries to actual happening and rebuttals of any and all events real or imagined which are blamed on little ol' me. "Little?" you ask... It is just a saying ya know.

I hope efurrycat has/had a safe and happy new year. Now let's get this year started off on the right paw!
