I was just a baby when I was taken in by my mommy. Born in her back yard, my cat mommy was very young when she had me and was having a hard time taking care of us.
Bio:
Smokey suffers from Plasma cell pododermatitis and probably "Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome" or referred to in cats as "cutaneous asthenia". The pododermitis causes his pads to swell, mush, bruise, bleed and scab. This is controlled by daily prednisone, which unfortunately long term can cause problems. The syndrome he most likeyhas is a genetic skin disorder. His skin is fragile and easily tears. We had his back claws removed because he was cutting himself open. He has had upward to 75 stiches over several different occasions until we figured out the problem. His spirits are awesome and if he was suffering I know what I would have to do, but this cat is truely a fighter. He brightens my day and talks, talks, talks.
