Yesterday, Mama went on a special trip to meet Morgan's mom so she could adopt a couple of the many rats Mama and her shelter furiends take care of. Mama said she had a lovely time, but she came home super tired.
Then, she got a call from Andre's mama, who had found a couple baby bunnies who were in a nest that was filling with water because of some bad rain they had. Andre's mama didn't know what to do with them, and she hoped my mama might be able to help.
Ugh, Mama put on her "saving the bunny world" (which always gets me in trouble) and they talked a little while and she helped Andre's mom find some people she could talk to that should be able to help her. I'm glad Andre lives too far away or I wouldn't have put it past Mama to bring those bunnies home too!
So Mama wakes up this morning and she tells me about this dream that she had. She says that she opened the cupboard under the kitchen sink and realized that she'd forgotten about the two foster rabbits that she was keeping under there in a hamster aquarium! (Note from Mama: a rabbit cage should never be an aquarium.) Mama says one of the baby bunnies looked like Smudge and the other looked like Marty, who were two of our long ago foster bunnies. Mama says that in her dream, she hadn't fed them in over a week but that they looked OK and when she let them out of the tank, they started bullying Shortie and Ringo, our current foster bunnies, and trying to bite them to get at their food! Mama says that she couldn't feed them fast enough and that they ate all the rabbit food and the guinea pig food and then they wouldn't go into the regular cage that Mama made for them and when she went back to put them in the pen, there were two more baby rabbits!
I don't know about you, but that sounds like a nightmare to me. Four more bunnies in this apartment? I would have to beat Mama up if she did that to me!
