Mama needs a new brain - or at least a new grocery list. The last one she had was not very helpful to her. She forgot all sorts of stuff when she went shopping last month!
Just in the last few days, we had problems.
Sab ran out of his kidney food. Mama started feeding him my weight loss food which, according to Dr. Vicki, apparently he needs to loose a few ounces, so Mama wasn't too worried about him missing a couple days of his kidney food. That was Tuesday.
Mama had to totally empty the #1 box because Sab uses it for #2 (he's such a pain in the tail!) and when she went to fill the box, she realized we were out of litter. So the #1 litter box got bleached and washed and then put back in the bathroom with no litter, and with its top off so we wouldn't use it. That was Wednesday.
Yesterday Mama fed the guinea pigs the last of their timothy pellet food. This morning she had to give them alfalfa bunny food. (Mama says that timothy food is the best for animals, but alfalfa is what is donated at the shelter. Bunnies can eat guinea pig food, but guinea pigs can't eat a steady diet of bunny food b/c it doesn't have enough vitamins in it for the pigs.) Bijou didn't care about the change in pellets, but Monet...
We learned early this morning that guinea pigs can throw tantrums, too. Mo-Mo was not pleased that Mama gave him Shortie's food! He flipped his bowl over, buried the pellets, pushed his bowl to the side of his cage, then used his teeth and nose to bang his bowl against the side of his condo for about an hour! He was so noisy none of us could to back to sleep! Not only was he banging his ceramic bowl, but he was squealing his mad squeal and occasionally stopping to gnaw on the bars of his cage to tell Mama "feed me my regular breakfast!"
Shortie ate the last of her timothy hay on Wednesday, and she was sniffing around for more, but Mama didn't have it to give her. Shortie was not pleased with the regular horse hay that Mama had for her litter box, so Shortie ripped all the newspaper out of her litter box, tossed it all over the pen, then did the same with the hay.
Thank cat Mama got her check today! Since Mo-Mo was making so much noise, Mama had a hair appointment today, and she had run out of breakfast foods, she got out of bed early - for her- and left to go buy
food for Sab
food for me
double packages of litter
food for the guinea pigs
food for Shortie
hay for Shortie & the pigs
and cereal for Mama. When she got home, she poured fresh litter into the #1 box and I got to christen it first.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaah life feels so much better when things are back to normal! I made sure Mama put "extra" on the grocery list so we don't run out again!
