First of all, on behalf of Mama, Bijou, Monet, Sebastian, and Shortie, I want to thank each of you who send kind thoughts and messages to us upon Chocolate's passing. A special thank you to my new furiend, Emma and family for the heartfelt rosette, as well as notes from
Diogi,
Jason Hopper,
Freddie,
Hazel Lucy (does she really need any introduction? I think not!),
Pepper,
Sparkman,
Onyx and her family, and those who left Sab some rosies:
Kiwi and her big family, Chumley, Morgan the Pirate Gato, Alfie, and
a very, very, VERY heartfelt an grateful "thank you" to the mama of one of the above mentioned cats who gave money to help pay for Chocolate's vet bill on behalf of the shelter.

Chocolate was only about 18 months old when he died, but he had such an effect on everyone he met. He will be missed by so many people; I wonder if he knew how much he was loved and by how many.

Things are back to normal around here: Mama spent a few hours on Sunday scrubbing spots he made on the carpet; she finally got his sick cage and his bedding and litter boxes all washed and put away. She took Chocolate back to the shelter for a proper "burial". Mama says they did some testing or something on him to find out what happened. She says that Chocolate apparently died from suffocation; his belly was so swollen and bloated that his heart and lungs didn't have space to work anymore. They also believe that some helpful visitor fed him some broccoli, which is not good for bunnies b/c it causes them to bloat. Mama says that everyone is now on special alert to make sure no broccoli gets into the bunny room ever again!
