Arrival Story: I got my kitty from my sister. He was her cat for a while but she didn't spend as much time with him as I did so when she finished college and was about to move out on her own she knew she couldn't take the cat away from me - it would have broken his heart. He would always cry when I went away like on vacation. So she said I could keep him and I have had him ever since. We have always been together since me and my sister picked him and his brother up at my mom's friends house and took the home. I think he was about 2 months old. He is my best friend.
Bio: Taz once got into my dad's fishing boat and ended up going with them to Wisconsin on a fishing trip. When my dad and his friends found him they put him in the truck for the rest for the trip. He got to spend a week with them, he was scared to death but dad knew he could not come home with out Taz. He was so happy to see me when he got home - from that point on dad would never leave for fishing trip unless Taz was either in my arms or sitting on the front step.
Taz passed away on September 25, 2014
This is Taz's mommy, I regret to inform you all that Taz went to the Rainbow Bridge on September 25, 2014. He was 20 years old.
Sorry that it has taken me so long to post this but our family has been morning his loss greatly and doing our best to enjoy the holidays without him, though the reminders were there.
He had been in failing health for over a year and a half. We took him to the vet once when he stopped eating, I realize now that he was ready to go then but realized that I was not ready to let go, so he fought and held on for longer than even i thought possible.
After awhile his body was no longer able to process food and I saw that he was staving to death. He would get me up 3 and 4 times a night to be feed (canned food) and it was never enough to take away his hunger for more than an hour. We decided as a family that we would not watch him fade away like that. He passed away in my arms with the assistance of the vet.
That was by far one of the hard decisions that I have ever had to make, I know it was the right one but I still miss him, keeping him here any longer would have been selfish on my part.
Your comments and condolences would be appreciated but I know you guys didn't know him like i did. I had his since I was 10. He was my best friend and a hell of a cat.
In his place he leave a little brother named Jynx. He is NO Taz but apparently Taz taught him all his tricks before he left. I time I will post the side by side pictures :)
I am doing better today, thank you everyone for the purrs. The vet lady still isn't sure what is up with me but the blood work came back good, kidney function was high because I was a little dehydrated.
I got looked at today for the second time and again every things seems okay. mom was worried about my mouth being sore there are some things in there but the vet said it was from where my teeth got pulled a while back.
She gave mommy some pain meds to give me for a few days to see how that works. So far I am feeling better, eating more on my own and a little happier.
