Our FOREVER FRIENDS-: Milo (doggie), Baby, Snow, Milo, Buddie & McKenna
How fading are the joys we dote upon!
Like apparitions seen and gone.
But those which soonest take their flight
Are the most exquisite and strong -
Like angels' visits, short and bright;
Mortality's too weak to bear them long.

We have lost 4 great friends since we joined Catster........
We have lost Milo, a great doggie friend, to an unfortunate car accident on the road.
We then lost Baby, the sweet little kitty to an illness, followed by Snow (a kitty brother of Baby ) to an illness.
Just yesterday, we have lost another sweet old pal of ours, Milo, so suddenly to illness.
All these forever friends were and will always be in our hearts....
God blessed them in kitty & doggie heaven.
God blessed their families!

I have been tagged by Louis LeBeau, Toffy, Grover and Gordy to participate in the game - meme. Thanks pals!
The rules: Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own blog about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your blog.
1. I would still wake my mum in the middle of the night to demand for fresh supply of food.
2. I would always paw the floor repeatedly with one of my front paw before I drink out of my water bowl.
3. Some of my family members nicked-name me ' Whale ' - cos my body is rather big, esp. viewed from behind.
4. I don't enjoy sharing the same space with my furbrother.
5. I would admit that I am not one of the bravest cat in the world.
6. I like to be picked up by mummy and be put over her shoulder like babies do. Don't understand why she don't do that more often or for a longer period of time.
7. Between my furbrother and me, I am the one who's always obedient, trust-worthy, calm and gentle. Socks, watch and learn from me......heh...heh...heh....
Now I tag these 7 cats:
1. Charlie Clarence
2. Tiger
3. Samantha
4. Smudge
5. Milo
6. Marquessa
7.Tippy
Love,
Simba

A few days ago, one of my mate on Catster brought up the subject of Dangerous Australian Spiders and Snakes. After some research, we Pmailed him the below facts and information.
On second thoughts, we have decided to share this interesting info. with all our Catster friends.
Thanks mate G., for posing this brilliant question in the first place.............
************************************** ****************************
According to Steve Parish, the lifestyles of the wild animals of Australia (reputed to be some of the most dangerous and bizzare creature of the world) are the results of ancient and ongoing struggles to survive in a harsh and isolated land.
Very few of them deliberately attack humans, but many defend themselves when threatened of frightened.
DEADLY FANGS:
Australia is home to over 380 species of land snakes but less than 30 of these are potentially dangerous to humans.
(1)AUSTRALIAN FRONT-FANGED SNAKES are renowned for their potent venom, yet the rate of human fatalities is los. Over 80% of bites occur when people try to catch or kill snakes.
(2) THE NORTHERN DEATH ADDER's bite is potentially lethal to humans.
(3) THE WESTERN BROWN SNAKE is one of 7 brown snake species that are responsible for the highest number of human fatalities.
(4) THE MULGA or KING BROWN SNAKE produces more venom than any other land snake.
(5) THE COPPERHEAD's has not caused human fatalities, but it's venom damages nerves, blood cells and other tissues.
(6) THE nocturnal STEPHEN'S BANDED SNAKE is extremely aggressive.
(7) Although venomous, the REAR-FANGED BROWN TREE-SNAKE is not a danger to humans.
(8) THE non-venomous CARPET PYTHON constricts prey with its coils.
(9) THE EASTERN TIGER SNAKE and its relatives are responsible for, on average, one fatality per year.
(10) A bite from a BLACK WHIP SNAKE can cause a painful, swollen wound.
(11) RED-BELLIED BLACK SNAKE venom can be lethal to small children.
(12) THE COASTAL TAIPAN will stirke repeatedly when cornered and is highly venomous.
(13) THE INLAND TAIPAN has the most toxic venom of any land snake.
(14) ** THE BANDED SEA KRAIT ** has a potentially fatal bite.
**22 of Australia's 33 MARINE snake species are considered potentially dangerous as their venom is toxic to humans, but their short, front fangs can't penetrate protective clothing.
EIGHT-LEGGED MENACE-SPIDERS:
Several thousand species live in Australia. Some are considered dangerous because they are common and their venom damages the human body.
(1) TRAPDOOR SPIDERS, including the MOUSE SPIDER, have venomous fangs.
(2) There are 37 species of FUNNEL-WEB spiders and their lethal venom attacks the human nervous system.
(3) The bite of the female RED-BACK SPIDER can be lethal. However, there've been no fatalities since an antivenom was invented in 1956.
(4) A bite from a BLACK HOUSE SPIDER may cause pain and vomiting, but it's not deadly to humans.
(5) WHITE-TAILED SPIDERS prey on BLACK HOUSE SPIDERS. Their bite may cause ulcerating wounds and tissue necrosis.
(The above facts were extracted from " Dangerous Australians" - a Steve Parish Souvenir, Steve Parsh Publishing Pty Ltd., Queensland, Austalia).

Much to my surprise, mum brought Socks home 3 days ago, not just for a few hours' play....(like ' the puppy-Lucy ' does or ' mum's neice-the baby ' does in the past)......but for good......
Despite her intuition that I may have strong objection to this adoption....the thought that Socks might have to go to the Cat Refuge or Worse...overpowered her emotions and clouded her judgement....
So, for the last 3 days....I have to co-exist with Socks... a Tuxedo male, breed unknown, aged roughly two to three months old....
My family seemed to agree that Socks is a very well-behaved kitty, lovable and very likable....(by humans)....Um....not his original owner....that's why someone we knew tried frantically to find him a new home or else....
If you ask for my opinion....(not that anyone cares...), I'm too set in my own ways in the past 5 years being the only boss around my household...that....I don't really fancy a new companion.....especially one of Socks' age! He's too active for me.....( Did mum tell you that he jumped on me a few times when I walked passed him today?) Fancy that!!
Mum noticed that I'm not my usual self the last 3 days.....
My feeding, sleeping patterns changed....cos' I'm too conscious of being watched and being followed by someone with a pair of watchful eyes... all too eager to cut across my path wherever I'm heading....
Mum is worried about my mental and emontional well-beings....She is stressed out .... especially while both of us kitties are awake......paws-fighting or following each other around in an unfriendly fashion. She reckoned that right now, I'm in a state of HIGH-ALERT ! Always watching out for Socks and unable to relax....
Temporary partitions were set up in the house when things got too intense.....(we don't really get into real fights...but we weren't exactly friendly and purring to each other...not yet).
Today (the 3rd day), I have managed to get some quality sleep ....next to mummy, in the computer room.......Socks fell asleep in the lounge. Sh....sh.....sh...Mum's secretly checking the time...it'd been 2 to 3 hours since both of us fell asleep........and none of us seemed to be in a hurry to get up yet.....(mum is attributing this restful period to the cool weather today...or...could it be due to the exhaustion from the past 3 days????)
In case you're not aware...Socks apprears on the third, fourth, fifth & sixth picture of page one in my photo album...mum plans to give Socks his own page later on..... (When??? Well, it all depends on whether mum can spare some time between having to break-up fights between the two of us....)
I guess my days of being the only kitty is over.....Bye ...2006....how I missed you....

It's been two months and 3 days since I first learnt about Catster. Time flies when one's having fun, don't you agree? I've met lots of wonderful kitties and couple of doggy friends since. I adored each and every one of my friends .....
I've learnt so much from chatting to you...things I'd never even dreamt of...phrases like: the healing Rosette, meowmy, the big kitty house, the cruise, the big blow out party, the kitty stroller, the leash walk, engagement, weddings...the list goes on and on...
What excites me most of all was realizing that most of you have a houseful of fur-siblings!
What's warmth to my heart is to know that each one of you has such a wonderful and devoted human family!
There are times when I shed a few tears when I learnt that some of my friends fell sick and needed medical attention... I promise I will keep my paws crossed, hoping that you will get better really soon.
Thanks for being my friends...thanks for giving me treats, rosettes, and paws....I just want to let you know that I'm having a great time of my life now..
Meow...meow...

Mum is always trying to find ways and means to flash my photos around... luckily she's found this new website Catster!
It took so long to try and find the best photos that represent me and my personality. She even put some of my dress-up photos on, how embarrassing.
Im excited about Catster because I'm an indoor cat (only taken out for short walks in the front garden under strict supervision), so I don't get to socialise with other cats at all. Sometimes other neighbourhood cats come to visit me at my window, but my mum won't let me out to play.
My mum likes browsing through the photos of other cats, but hopefully she won't get any new costume ideas.
Meowww. Time for my nap.
Love Simsim
