Arrival Story:
When our orange tabby cat, Gordon, passed away last year, we knew that we would have to get another kitty at some stage. It took about 3 months before we were ready to get a new cat. I was on my way to work one morning and heard on the radio that there was cat shelter in southern San Diego that had a surplus of cats, and if some weren't adopted soon, they might have to euthanize some of the cats. We felt that we had to do something about this problem, so the following day, we drove down to the cat shelter (about 40 miles away). We interacted with several of the cats, but it wasn't until we met Floyd that we felt a connection. He was so sweet-natured and unlike some of the other cats, never hissed, growled or lashed out when other cats were around him. It was important to us that the new kitty be non-agressive as we wanted him to get along with our beloved dog, Abby. His sweet nature was the selling point for us. We brought him home and he didn't bat an eyelid when he met Abby -- they were friends right away!

Bio:
We don't know too much about Floyd's early life. He was about 10 months old when we adopted him. The shelter told us that he had been found wandering around a field, close to the Mexican border.
