The term of the week is "Purrcata non grata."
The term translates to "an unwelcome cat." In diplomacy, the term refers to a cat that is prohibited from entering another cat's territory or a certain room or closet in the house.
For example, Jack is purrcata non grata in the bedroom because that is Briana's territory and she hates him. The term is being used frequently this week, because Momma forgot she had opened the bedroom door to heat up the room, and Jack exploited her oversight and entered Briana's territory setting off World War Bree. Briana got a nasty scratch over her eye (but not in it, thankfully) and is stressed out. So now Hamlet is also purrcata non grata and banned from the bedroom for the time being.
Thank goodness there are doors that close!
Hoping no one is traumatized.
Do you think Calming Collars might help the hateful situation?
CALMING COLLARS website
I think everyone is a little traumatized. Happened Friday night. Momma's been watching Briana like a hawk - making sure there's no sign of infection. She doesn't want to take her to the vet unless she has to because that will just traumatize the little Drama Queen even more.
No one weats collars, but Momma did buy one of the Calming Sachets for Hamlet. Didn't help him, but maybe Momma can dig it out and stick it in Briana's bed. Thanks for the idea.
Zippie is purrcata nongrata (sorry if I spelled that wrong) from mom's room as well because that is Midnight's room, Diogi's too most of the time. However Diogi can open mom's door (still haven't figured out how) so a couple of times a week Zippie gets in there.
It is Midnight's room because Zippie HATES her! He'll attack her full on every chance he gets. He had her so terrified that she wouldn't come down from the top of the entertainment center even to eat or use the litterbox.
The funny part of this story is that Midnight either wiggles under mom's blanket or goes in her kennel. Either way Zippie either doesn't see her, or doesn't think he can get her. When he hears mom coming he ducks just under her bed thinking he's hiding till mom pulls him out & tosses him out of the room.
Maybe your Mom needs to get some of those baby-proof doorknob covers to keep Diogi from letting Zippie in.
Hope everyone is ok!
That is a great term.
We can use it in a sentence...
Biggles is Purrcata non grata in Grandma's bedroom
since she is alergic to cats.
We hope things get better between Briana and Jack.
That is scary.
Maybe the Feliway units might help if they don't wear collars? It helped our cousin Hunter.
