Meme loves to go outside. She loves drinking out of the kitchen faucet.
She hates to be told no she can't go outside & she hates the dog.
A piece of cat food that she will take out of her bowl and bat all around the kitchen floor.
Favorite Nap Spot:
Meme has claimed a small table by the side door that used to be a telephone table.
Anyone's cat food left in their bowls. Deli cat treats.
She can tell by looking at the faucet handle if water is hot or cold. If it's hot she will place her paw on it and wait for you to change it.
indoors and outdoors
Meme is my special baby. Since her kitty mother(Samba) lives with us, my husband & I are her Nana & Papa. I helped pull her out of her mother at her birth(she was breech). She was 1 of 4 kittens born, but sadly the only one to survive. At 1-2 wks of age I had to bottle feed her because her mother's milk had gone dry. If I went out of the house anywhere, Meme went with me in a little basket, along with her bottle of milk. We(she & I) slept on the kitchen floor for almost a week because we had treated the carpets for fleas and I was scared to death that she would be poisoned because she licked everything. We then graduated to the couch for another week and finally made it to the bed! She is the sweetest, most laid back kitty I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her mother is an American Shorthair and her father was a Norwegian Forest cat that was the terror of the neighborhood who has since died. The only thing she got from her mommy is her coloring and her eyes.
Not too long ago Meme went missing. I was beside myself with worry for her safety. I made up posters and walked door to door handing them out for 2 days. I cried myself to sleep at night and prayed for her safe return. On the third morning my husband & I were looking close to the house & I had begun to lose hope. My dog began barking. I went to see what she was making all the noise about and heard a tiny meow. Two backyards away I spotted her. I yelled to my husband that I had found her. He got a terrible look on his face & said, "Oh no, that's where that big, mean dog lives." He scaled one fence and called to her to come to him when the dog re-appeared and Meme ran to hide under a stack of wood at the back of the dog's yard. I raced to their front door to ask them to get their dog so we could go in & get her. I was estatically happy & scared to death at the same time. I later had to go back to apologize to the young couple for being a raving lunatic. She has since been monotered closely and has not left our yard. However, now she has an intense dislike for our dog, not realizing that our dog was part of her rescue team!!! Birthday: May 6th
