indoors Arrival Story: I was living in Turkey for the summer, where this breed is thought to be very special. The sad part is that they keep about 30 or so filthy and locked up in a Zoo....like the tigers or monkeys..it is very odd. They look so unhappy I found Ipek in the town I lived in from a man who "breed" Turkish Angora. These cats were living in horrid conditions...he would be arrested in this country. The babies all had horrible ear mites. I thought Ipek was a girl...and several days later her/he little baby nuggets "dropped" he was definitely a boy! The breeder came in the following day to my shope and handled me a female kitty and started to take Ipek away." Wait....stop..what are you doing" He explained to me that I had wanted a female and that he was trading Ipek for one. I had had him for a week by now and was so attatched to him. I started yelling "NO, you can't take him. Just because I asked for a girl and didn't get one...you can't take him...I am in love with him now. It would be like going to the hospital and trading babies because you didn't get the sex that I wanted!! Bio: Ipek flew 17 hours back from Turkey with me. He was a road warrior. All the flight attendents thought he was the most beautiful cat that they had ever seen. Is fur is snow white...and just like silk.....thus his name "Ipek" which is Turkish for "silk".
