Arrival Story:
fronk was given to us by the local pet rescue. we begged for him because he wasn't adoptable.we knew little about what was wrong with him but we didn't care. he was seriously ill and we wanted to give him a chance to spend his last few weeks surrounded by love and compassion. he needed constant special care and was forever cold, his failing health progressed quickly. he spent his last days cuddled close in a holder intended for carrying newborn babies . it served it's purpose and kept him comfortably warm and close to our hearts. he became quite weak and lethargic in the end. he couldn't support his own weight. the blood disease he suffered had given him jaundice and soon he became too weak to function. he left quietly in his sleep and is buried in the back garden amoung the flowers and fruit trees. a hand painted cross marks his resting place. we still think about fronk often.

fronk was the type of cat that anyone would love. we only wish we could have done something ( anything ) to save him. at the time we brought him home we were ignorant about feline aids, it wasn't until after his passing that we knew what had really happened to him. by that time he had already exposed our other house cats, especially stellabean who found it necessary to snuggle and groom him. stellabean and lily have since both tested positive for the virus. the day the bloodwork came back was like doomsday. it will be 3 years in march since the diagnoses and we haven't had any medical problems with bean or lily but we haven't been able to bring another kitty in the house since, that's the real punishment. for reasons unknown emmie has never contracted the disease.
