Wow~ today I was chosen as diary of the day (DOTD)! I still can't believe that I made it onto the front of the catster homepage~ this was a big honor and one that I am very grateful for! This made going to the vet, all worth it~
Thank you to all of the special kitties, who showered me with love and attention, and thank you catster for nominating me, it was a wonderful feeling!

I went to the dreaful vet to day

When I tell you that I hate, hate, hate the vets office, I really mean it! Mama and daddy took me to the vet today for my annual check up. The minute I got in the car ,I meowed the whole ride up there. The nerve of my parent! They know I don't like the vet, but they still took me. Mama was trying to console me, but I wasn’t having it~ I continued to cry and meow.

Once we got there I was not being very cooperative with my vet Dr. All she kept saying was "wow, china, you really don't want to be here today." That’s because I kept jumping off of the exam table. Heck, who wants to be on that cold, steel table! I sure didn't!

While they were all talking, I was roaming the room , rubbing my chin on everything! I wanted to be sure that I marked my sent everywhere. After the vet buzzed my furry butt, weighed me, checked my heart, teeth, eyes and ears, she then shot me up with my vaccines. Ouch!

The only highlight of this dreadful trip was that the vet's resident cat "rosco" was flirting with me. He kept coming up to my carrier and was trying to ask me out on a date, but my protective daddy said that I was to young to go out on a date. Fathers ... their so controlling~

Anyhow, I am home now, and feeling a little out of it, from my traumatic day at the vet’s office. Thanks for letting me vent!

Tini ( Angel) 12/24/06

A small tortie cat greeted my mom last Tuesday evening 12/19/06. The cat slept on our back porch for two days, before my mom decided to take her to the vet to get checked out on 12/21/06. The vet cleared the kitty of any bad disease, and checked for a microchip but she didn’t have one. With this information my mom and dad decided to take the kitty in from out of the cold NE weather. They named her Tini, short for Martini. She was Tini, so the name fit her.

The vet told my mommy to expect Tini to be a little out of it after receiving her distemper shots. Tini did display that she was out of it, and so my Mom and dad kept a close watch over her. My mom slept in the bathroom where Tini was temporarily being housed, and when Tini started to refuse water and food my mommy syringed baby food and water down Tini’s throat to make sure she was not going to dehydrate. My mom grew concerned yesterday 12/24/06, and told daddy that they were going to have to take Tini to the vet once they retuned from their Christmas Eve gathering with family. Sadly, when my mommy and daddy retuned from their family gathering, mommy went to go check on Tini and found that she had passed.:(

My mother and father are devastated, my mom especially, because she thought she was doing the right thing by taking Tini off the streets and getting her checked out by the vet. My mommy keeps crying and saying that she only was trying to help baby Tini, not harm her. I am trying my best to console her, but its really hard to see her so sad:(

Bless you baby Tini... May the Great Spirit shower you with eternal love and may the angels guide you to a happier kingdom.

I saw my first mouse!

Check it out pals! Last night at about 11pm we had for the first time ever, a little bitty mouse pay us a visit. The three of us were having a good old time playing with the mouse while my mommy and daddy were upstairs watching T.V.!

Our parents had NO CLUE that we had company. Hee-haw!

That is until daddy came down stairs for his usual midnight snack. When dad came down stairs he was shocked to see us playing with a mouse, whom we later named Fields. We dubbed him Fields because he was a (field mouse).

Anyhow, dad was scared out of his pants and yelled up to my mommy, " The kids are down here with a mouse." Next thing you know, mommy comes down stairs with an empty shoebox, gets in-between me, Alfie and Monty and then scoots the mouse into the box.

With in seconds mommy, daddy and Fields disappeared! Where the heck did they go?

Well, my mommy and daddy returned, and informed us that they drove Fields to a local park to let him free.

Word of advice, don't invite your parents to a cat & mouse party! They are sure to crash a good time! :0(
