KeeKee left us and crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 11/9/09. We fought the hard fight together through kidney disease and a stroke and finally a tumor and when her time came, our friends at the Pontiac Veterinary Hospital supported our hard decision and helped her to find peace. Her Grandmeowmie is already up in heaven and might have been surprised to see her, as she always thought KeeKee would be ok when I was worried that the most recent thing was "it", but she has to be glad to have her by her side once again. KeeKee was an extraordinary cat and she lived her 22 years (17 with our family) with smarts, cunning, cuteness, shedding, the occasional hairball, the flat on her back beauty of "dead cat", the best fuzzy white paws, that waterproof fur, moments of true evil, her own language of "kee", the ability to find a pill whether hidden in a treat or shoved in with a pill launcher and launch it right back out, cuddling, chair-stealing, head-butting, kneading and the occasional you had to feel for it to know it purr. I read a poem recently about the Rainbow Bridge and it reminded me how much I miss my Three Socks and a Slipper KeeKee Kitty McGruff (the Magnificent) and that brought me here. I can only hope that it's true - that she'll know when I join her & she'll come find me and I can head-but her once again. I miss her so much.
