Arrival Story:
A family in the area put an ad in the paper that they had a cat to give away. They'd recently discovered that their young son was allergic to the cat they called McGruff. We went to meet her & she came out from under their Christmas tree to charm everyone with head-butting and lap-sitting. She had us at "kee". We quickly made some changes to her name, her full one now being: Three Socks and a Slipper Kee Kee Kitty McGruff the Magnificent (she added the last part herself).

Bio:
KeeKee was diagnosed in 2004 with Chronic Kidney disease. She was diagnosed in 2009 with a cancerous bladder tumor. She also had a stroke at some point, and ended up hurting her leg. She's getting a pain shot every 6 months now to help with arthritis. She still doesn't like the v-e-t visits, and bit an assistant in the past. She continues to work on fluff and fur production, but she looks pretty rough these days because she has no patience most of the time for brushing. She was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in her bladder earlier this year. By 11/9/09 she hadn't been eating much & then her body started having more troubles, and she was just worn out. We made the hard decision, but the best decision for her, and along with her friends at the Pontiac Veterinary Clinic, we helped her cross the bridge to join her Grandmeowmie.

Hanging in there!

Well, according to the v-e-t records, I'm 22 now. Meowmie & my humans celebrate my birthday on my gotcha day in December, so technically I'm just 21 to them. I'm still hanging in there, doing ok I guess. It was kind of rough there for a while when my Grandmeowmie went away and didn't come back. Everybody was sad, including me. I even ended up at the v-e-t around that time because my kidney thing flared up again. But, Meowmie has been giving me fancy feast for dinner because she was worried I wasn't eating much again. I still get the k/d stuff in the morning, and some days I'm more in the mood for it than other days. I get treats as usual, which is good. I have a litter box now in the same room where I sleep and one in the room where my food is. Meomie keeps them in corners where I can get to them but they're not bothering me. My living room litter box has some liner paper things beside it for those days when I'm feeling the need to squat - I still have that problem with my kidneys and now I guess I have some cancer blob in my bladder. Now Meowmie really watches me sleep and checks up on me, waking me up even when she says I'm scaring her with my quietness! Rude! She sometimes moves my food closer to my sleeping places when I seem to be having trouble getting around, though, so she's ok overall. She'll take me to the v-e-t, though, when I seem to be sore. Don't like the v-e-t, but that stuff they shoot me up with gives me the munchies, so that's alright! That other gray cat is still here, but I don't feel the need to hiss at her all the time, just some of the time. She stays down on the stairs mostly, but every once in a while she comes up by the gate thing and I have to remind her that she's the downstairs cat! Oh, well, I'm hanging in there!

headbutters to everyone (except for downstairs kitty)

I'm ignoring it and it hasn't gone away

You might have heard that another cat moved in to MY new house! I keep thinking it will move right back out, but then it comes around to the top of the stairs and sits there, showing its' silly not furry enough belly and meowing, for crying out loud. It doesn't even Kee. Ack! The humans are still putting up the fence thing between us, which is good. My Meowmie lets it up here once in a while, but usually in to a room I'd rather not go into anyway (Meowmie's - she kicks when she sleeps & she's always picking me up & smooching). It's a good thing they treat me well otherwise. I had a fall a while back & Meowmie had to go & take me to the v-e-t. I felt so icky, I didn't even try to bite him this time. I hissed, but I'm good at that no matter how bad I feel. The v-e-t said my kidney numbers were good still & that maybe I had a stroke & that caused me to fall from the bed & hurt my fuzzy self. They gave me some good drugs & Meowmie bought me something she calls stairs. All I know is that it helps me get up on Grandmeowmie's bed and I can sit on the top of it and present my beauty to the room. Meowmie says it's my show pose stand or something like that. My tail drapes quite nicely when I'm sitting on it. Well, time to go lounge in the Grandpeowpie's Lazy chair. It's soooo comfy. Grandpeowpie probably thinks Meowmie bought it for his comfort or the color or something, but I know she was thinking of me!! It's soft and has soft arms that are short so I can look over them and all. Meowmie is all right sometimes. If only she'd take IT away!

purrs, headbutters and kees to all!

Whew!

On January 8, my family had to leave our house due to flooding. Our house got about 6 inches of water up in it, but that's enough that my grandmeowmie couldn't move back in (lung problems) and my meowmie couldn't either (allergies/asthma). So, we moved in with a friend of my meowmie. Meowmie ended up buying us a new house & we moved in on the 21st. My humans were worried about me being scared or whatever, but I checked it all out & it's all good. I was a bit scared at meomie's friends' house because there was a d-o-g making noise and the smell of the Lyra cat. Here I don't smell anybody else & I've got lots of room!! And, they got me a new chair! Well, they say it's not MY chair, but I think I look cutest in it so...

There's been some stress, but now we're back to normal.

purrs & headbutters to everyone!
