I was so happy today when my Mum stayed at home and didn't go to her 'work' thing. We went into the back garden behind our flat and I got to play in the grass and climb a lovely kitten sized tree put there just for me. We stayed out for quite a while, but Mum took me inside before I really wanted to. Then we just sort of hung out for the rest of the day and napped in front of the fan and stuff. It was pretty hot today so I only had so much energy for biting and such.
Then this evening Auntie Evrim calls and says we are going to visit the vet. I thought, 'Vet... sounds like a bath. I don't really like baths, but they're okay and it IS really hot out.' Mum put me in my harness again *sigh* and we met Auntie Evrim and Uncle Ali and went for a car ride. Talk about cool! Everything outside was moving so quickly. It was very exciting. We got to the vet and there was this pretty white cat there, but she didn't seem to like me much. The vet turned out to be a lady, not a bath, and she cooed and fussed over me a bit. Mum kept distracting her though, asking questions about vaccination passports and such, but I managed to make myself known on the vet lady's lap. Then we went into the back room and she weighed me. I weigh 900 grams! Almost a whole kilo. Mum and Auntie Evrim were impressed. I was so proud, I started strutting around this metal table they put me on and then things went all pear shaped!
The big meanie poked me in the side with a needle! I showed her just how angry I was by lashing my tail, but OH the INDIGNITY! They put some smelly stuff on the back of my head and then left it there. Mum says it's to get rid of any parasites, but it's stinky! I don't like it.
If this is how things turn out when Mum stays home, perhaps being left alone most days isn't so bad. I liked the playing and attention, but really, was the poking and the smelly stuff REALLY necessary?

I am having so much excitement in my young life. First my Auntie Evrim and Uncle Ali took me into their home, but Prince and I didn't get along (he hissed at me) and Auntie Evrim told my Mum about it and I moved after just two days to my home. I hear though, that Mum and I will be getting on a plane and going to her country, Canada. I'll have a kitty Uncle when I get there too.
I've been busy practicing my pouncing and my biting lately. I mastered the purr and the cuddle when I first arrived, so I'm expanding my repetoire. I've also gotten into climbing and checking out every corner of Mum's flat. Mum is a bit annoyed with me, but I think it's her fault for spending all that time away from home. What is 'work' anyway.
My teeth are getting stronger and I've caved to the pressure to eat the hard kibble. I was glad to switch off the milk to soft food because the milk gave me gas, but what is Mum thinking? She gets me happily eating soft food, then expects me to nibble on the hard stuff as well! She's only letting me have one packet of the soft stuff in the morning and as much crunchy kibble as I want after that. Grumble. It okay... but it's no chicken chunks with gravy! She also wants me to drink water. She says it's really hot here and I shouldn't just knock over the water dish. *sigh* mums are so fussy! It's obvious she isn't a Turk. I don't think it's hot at all.
Mum brought home a new toy for me to claw tonight. She says it's a suitcase, but I know better. It's a combined scratching post and climbing toy. She can't fool me!
I've been meeting so many wonderful friends on Catster. I'm so glad there are other people as caring as my mum who are willing to take in a kitten in need. I wish every cat in Turkey could be so lucky! When I sit on the balcony, I can see many other cats living on the empty lot up the hill. I wonder if my cat mum is one of them. Perhaps that doesn't matter so much. My human mum loves me and is taking me home with her. I only wonder... if she thinks it's so hot here, how cold is Canada going to be?
