Arrival Story:
A friend is actually the person who picked him out of a pen full of adoptable kittens. They mistook his trying to jump out as him trying to jump into her arms and the deal was sealed. When he was still an only cat, he clung to us new people with gusto and would sit on the back of your shoulders and knead your hair.

Bio:
Despite being a boy, he's the girliest looking cat I've ever seen. He loved everyone and had an odd fetish for being butt smacked. My room mate once tried to outlast him on who would get tired first, but his arm was tired long before the Bean was willing to give up his slaps. His meow was pitiful unless he was very frightened or upset which is when he would break out that typical Siamese meow. Despite being black and plain his coat was always shiny and he had the most handsome facial structure that a cat could ever want. He also worked tirelessly to make any new cat to the house a part of his little family. Tai was his first friend, who he became so attached to that seeing one without the other was an oddity. Kisa came later as a baby, but he loved kittens, so he irritated her until he was like her mama cat. They would lay in a tidy little pile on the bed because they all wanted to be next to him. He also hated big dogs. My friend's dog especially. The first time they were around one another, he immitated the perfect halloween cat. He also attacked the dog when it got too close to Tai and myself.

In May of 2006, for two days in a row he was more vocal than normal. It was a meow that I had only heard from him on several occations. Most of them because he needed help. Once because he had tangled himself in his own collar and again when he had fallen behind the bookshelves. I took this as a hint and made a monday appointment for the veterinarian.

At first, they thought that he was impacted. He hadn't stopped eating yet, but I could tell that something hurt. His back was arched ever so slightly like he was in pain. By Monday he was getting less active. After that he stopped eating while he was getting his diagnostics. It turned out that he was not impacted, however. After a few tests they discovered that one of his kidneys was grossly enlarged.

A sonigram revealed that it did not looked like cancer normally would, which was the primary concern. It was suggested that I take him to a specialist. Much discussion later, it was theorized that the tube connecting his kidney to his bladder had burst, filling his body with urine and keeping the kidney from being able to remove toxins. It is also believed that he had an underlying kidney condition because the other kidney was unable to compensate at all.

He purred right up to the very end.
