Leave a treat for Emma (2006-2008)

Nicknames: Emms, The Evil One, Evil Monster Manipulating All, Bat Cat, The Assasin, The Emminator, Emmaline (when she's being sweet...we don't use that one often!)

Kitty Complexion:

 Quick Bio:
 Coloration: Black Smoke

Likes: To get into things that she KNOWS she's not supposed to. She enjoys climbing the fabric blinds. She loves catnip (she knows the word!); mini-marshmallows are also a favorite for some strange reason.

Pet-Peeves: Anything that slows her down or gets in her way!

Favorite Toy: Anything she's not supposed to mess with

Favorite Nap Spot: Napping? What's that??? WAH-ha-ha-ha!!!

Favorite Food: She enjoys her Science Diet dry food as well as her canned Fancy Feast treats, but food isn't high on her list of things that she likes. She likes cheese, but is easily distracted if a ball is thrown or her tunnel is "fluffed." Playtime is first!

Skills: She's great at chasing AND retrieving the little spongy ball. She's also really adept at letting a silent one rip when you pick her up (one of her peeves, and brother, does she let you know it!)

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story: We saw her on the local shelter's Web site and just had to meet her. After losing two beloved angels this year (and battling a serious illness in a third angel, Malaika), we needed to smile again. Once Malaika is home with us, we will feel as if our family is on the mend. Emma and Jake are a big part of this healing process. UPDATE: Emma seems to be growing out of her evil wild-thang persona and becoming such an awesome little cat. She purrs more, and wants affection all the time -- something she really wasn't into when she first came to live with us. Granted, she still enjoys a good toilet-paper romp from time to time, but who can get angry at the sight of a little black cat rolling around in a cloud of toilet paper? She's just so amazing!

Bio: We had originally thought of adopting only Emma, but when we got to the shelter and realized that she had a brother, we just couldn't separate them. They are so wonderful together -- chasing each other everywhere! Ironically, it was five years ago this weekend that we brought home two other little "monsters"...Marty and Malaika! We think that this is a good sign. UPDATE: Adopting Emma (and her brother, Jake) was indeed one of the best things we could have done...second only to having adopted M&M five years ago.

I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.
I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.
I should be crying, but I just can't let it show.
I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking
Of all the things I should've said,
That I never said.
All the things we should've done,
That we never did.
All the things I should've given,
But I didn't.
Oh, darling, make it go,
Make it go away.
Give me these moments back.
Give them back to me.
Give me that little kiss.
Give me your hand.

It's been a month now since Emma's diagnosis of FIP, and while she's doing ok, she still isn't in remission (she's on prednilisone as well as feline omega interferon, just like her brother, Jake). Her appetite is much improved, but she is still so underweight. She has always been a petite girl, but now she is bony and we're trying to get weight on her frame. She's a fighter, though, so we just keep using the interferon and hoping that it will kick this thing into remission as it has with Jake. Thank you all for all of your support, kind words, healing thoughts, and gifts. Emma appreciates every single one of them.
