indoors Arrival Story: She has the same momma as Baby and Sasha and even though we had enough cats, I could not bear the thought of her going to somebody who would not take care of her. She had an allergy to food and could not keep it down and threw up all the time. I took her from her mommy too young because her mother was not feeding her because she was tired of having litters of kittens. If I had not taken her, she would have starved to death, either from not being fed, or from her allergy. The vet said that she did not have the enzymes to digest her food good. I started giving her tiny portions of food in short intervals and that seemed to help her keep more of her food down. I had to keep her away from the other cats food, which was a bit hard at first. Since she was also so tiny and young, I also had to litter train her like I was the mommy kitty. I carried her around with me everywhere and kept her by me and didn't leave her out of my sight that is how much I adored her. We both love one another very much and my husband says that he has not seen a cat devoted to a person like Sweetpea is devoted to me. She follows me everywhere. She also comes when I call her name which is not like most cats. Cats come when they want to come to you. Bio: Sweetpea is a round eyed rumpy. She is not a stumpy like her older two sisters. She has no tail whatsover. The has very thick strong back legs and uses them to spring very high into the air. Lives Remaining: 9 of 9 Forums Motto: You're so smart! I'M A ROUND EYED RUMPY! When mom and dad lounge around for the evenings and watch tele, I usually come and do the same and lay up on the back of the couch. My dad always says to mom, "Sweetpea sure has the neatest markings. She is the prettiest little thing. You sure can tell that she is your cat though, she only seems to like you and she only tolerates me".
I am kind of aloof with all other human beings except for mom. That doesn't mean that I don't like them but I guess it is because of what I heard the vet tell mom when she brought me in for a shot. The vet said, "Torties have attitude". So, I guess that is my explanation because I can't think of a good reason of why I am the way I am.
I love it when I hear my mom call out, "Sweetpea! Come and play with the toy-fly! Toy-fly! The toy-fly is here. I come running out to play, even if I am sleeping on the bed, when I hear mom call out "toy-fly" I come running all excited to get into the chase. In the summer I play with real flys. I love to catch real fly and it gives me experience for the summertime to play in the winter with my "toy-fly". A toy fly is called a "lazar pointer" by human beings. I see it as a "toy-fly"!! A red toy-fly. It goes all around the room like a real fly, up the walls, across the ceiling, down on the floor, all over the furniture and boy and I fast. I run fast and faster after the toy-fly!
Our mom bought us a new toy yesterday, a lazar pointer and boy do I love chasing and playing with it. My new step sister Love Muffin can't get into it and enjoy it because she knows that it is just a light spot and therefore cannot grab it and she has no interest in it. I love to chase it as it gives me practice for the spring and summer to "get the flies"!! When mom says, "get the fly, Sweepea, get the fly", I go beserk and look everywhere for the fly because I am a great fly hunter. The lazar pointer keeps me in shape to catch flies.
