I got some turkey. I got some turkey. La la la la la la!

**Does Pound Puppy Dance** (It’s like the cabbage patch dance, only doing the circling motion with the tail instead of arms.)

Ooops! Sorry, 'Tude...didn't mean to show off...

(Well, maybe just a little.) I got some turkey, some yummy turkey...

Peace…..
Of turkey!

Today was a really good example of a typical day in my life…

I woke up. Went with Mom and supervised as she got her morning paper. Ate. Drank. Helped Mom eat her breakfast. Found a comfy nap spot. Got shooed away so a human could sit there. (The injustice of it all!) Ate. Drank. Used the Litterbox. Fought with Forty for the good chair. Found a better nap spot (on Mom's bed...in the sun....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh). Ate. Drank. Asked for more egg salad. Got some. (Yes!) Napped. Fought with Fortitude for the good chair. Got shooed away by the humans again. Got brushed. Pooped. Ate, Drank. Took a bath. Took a nap. Used the litter pan. Took a nap. Helped Sis with her late nite snack. Time for Bed!

With all these responsibilities, it's a wonder I ever get anything done!

Peace ...........

Happy New Year Everyone!

"2008—Isn’t that nifty?" That’s my slogan for this year. It’s sort of “Little Mr. Sunshine,” wouldn’t you say?

It’s been a while since I’ve written anything, so here’s an update for you…

I still love to eat…a lot, but since Forty got sick, we haven’t been getting nearly as many treats as we used to. I still get to try human food every once in a while…like today, I got a taste of some excellent egg salad. Mmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm! It was so eggy and yummy I think I’ll ask for more tomorrow…

Let’s see. My Mom has started to close the door to our room at night so that Fortitude can’t bother us. Is that groovy or what? Since I’m not so worried about Fortitude jumping on me, I even manage to relax a little. Sometimes I relax so much that I even cuddle with Mom, but don’t tell anyone, I wouldn’t want to destroy my reputation.

The absolutely best thing about the new situation is…there’s a secret stash of MY food …just for me! I don’t have to share. It’s amaaaaaaaaaaazing!

My favorite toy practically disintegrated over the summer, so I’ve chosen a purple felt mouse to take its place. It’s fierce. It’s got superior aerodynamics for when I play “fling that toy” with my human sister.

Hmmmmm. I guess that’s about it. I’ll see if by writing my blog again I can re-start the great treat machine. Just because Fortitude got sick doesn’t mean I should be penalized, does it? Keep your paws crossed. More taste treats means more interesting journal entries.....

Peace...... of pizza,
Boomer

“Prescription” wet food. Yeah, right! It doesn’t smell like a prescription…it smells…heavenly!

And Fortitude gets to have it EVERY NIGHT? And I’m not allowed to have ANY of it?

Oh, and that’s not the worst part of it…he gets to have it in his own “first class” eating accommodations.

Humph! This is an outrage!

Take ME to the vet, I may not be have any special crystals to bribe the vet with, but I’m sure I could win her over with my charm... I’m not above singing for my supper…

Meow! Meow! Meow!

I'm baaaaaaaaack.....

I've been negligent about writing in my journal lately.

My human doesn't seem very good at prioritizing her responsibilities. So, today, I reminded her that my diary must not be ignored!

By not writing frequently, we lose valuable history. Future generations of felines will want to know what life was like in the early 21st century--how we thought, what we did with our time and what our culture was like....

What if Livy, Thucidydes, or the Venerable Bede never wrote anything down?

Imagine if Homer never put pen to parchment....

C'mon, human!, this is monumental!

Brushing me daily is also important.

Cheers,
Boomer

My sister went out to dinner last night, so I (naturally) expected some sort of food offering upon her return. What did she bring me?

Broccoli.

She's the meanest person on earth.

See if I tolerate her cuddles today!

Broccoli.

Humph!

Tapioca!

**Doing kitty happy dance**

Cushy chair with blankets!

**Rolls on floor with belly exposed**

Full food dish and lots of clear, cool water

**Chomp!**

Toy!

**"Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeow!"**

Napping on Mom's bed

**Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr***

Remember, always take time to smell the roses!

The humans went hunting today. They brought back at least 10 bags full of stuff! I got so excited I almost jumped out of my fur...Was any of it for me?

I was worried at first..I only saw two big tubs of kibble and very little else of interest.

Frozen vegetables and dried pasta.

A grapefruit for goodness sake! That's NOT fit for feline consumption...

I began to panic.

But then I saw it...

A Tub of Tapioca! Just for ME! (Well, maybe I'll share it--the humans can have a small spoonful each.)

Now if only I could get someone to open it....

My life has been sad, sad, sad lately.

The humans haven't been supplying much in the way of food samples for me lately. All I get these days is kibble and water...

It's enough to have to put up with being cuddled all day, but this adds insult to injury. It's outrageous! It's unacceptable!

I DEMAND more interesting food.

I NEED more interesting food!

Tomorrow I NEED a filet mignon (very rare) accompanied by baby green beans and polenta drizzled with butter.

For dessert, I think I would like a dish of thick cream. And maybe a sardine.

No...wait! I want some pudding! It's been AGES since I've had any pudding. So long, in fact, that I've almost forgotten what it tastes like.

That's unforgivable.

Totally unforgivable.

I'm going on purr strike until my demands are met.

No pudding; no purring. (And pawsatively NO CUDDLING!)

Now hop to it, humans! Surely there's an all-night Tapioca Tavern around here somewhere!

Well, I'm glad yesterday's over.

It was ALL FORTITUDE ALL THE TIME! Not that I begrudge him his Cat of the Day--he deserved something nice after how down he's been-- but my goodness! It was incredible! Notes! Rosettes! Stars! Treats! Cuddles!

And nobody thought about my belly at all. (Well, I did get treats when he did..I guess...)

Anyway, I hope things will start to get back to normal now.

Ahem! My belly needs brushing! I've got a party to get ready for (at Rowdy Naught Bawdy Dogs & Cats.) It's my first costume party.

Do you think my mask makes me look fat?

Don't answer that.
