Boy!! Did I have a rough week!!

Early morning Wednesday, 2 am. Mom and Dad found me rolled up in the couch's slipcover bleeding profusely from behind! They rushed me to the local Vet ER and I had emergency surgery during the night. The ER Vet said my skin was like Swiss cheese! OUCH! He thinks I may have been biten from behind by one of the other cats. Mom says I could have been injured by "anything". My littermate George does chase me nightly. He could have either bit me or clawed me from behind. Anyway, I appearently had this injury and didn't know it for at least a week when it finally abcessed. My wound had a lot of dead skin around it. The doc couldn't even completely sew me up..I didn't have enough skin!! So, he put a couple drainage tubes in and made "belt loops" with the sutchers for securing the bandage to the "hole" in back. I came home from the ER wearing a most awesome headress along with my bandage. They must appreciate my Greatness! Mom and Dad had to change my gauze twice a day for two days. I finished all my pain meds, and I'll be on Clavamox for a about another week. I also must stay in a "secure" place to I can't be prey for my siblings. The vet tech suggested the bathroom. Mom had a better idea. She got out Liberty's dog crate that she no longer uses. It has a lot of room and it allows me to still be part of the family unit. Today, I went to my regular Vet for my follow up. I got a new bandage that Mom and Dad are to leave on all weekend. She put "special" powder on it to encourage skin growth. I go back on Monday for a recheck of my "ouchie". Unfortunately, I must stay in the dog crate through the weekend! Mom put a mini cat condo inside for me to have an elevated area. She's so considerate!!!

Wow!! A Furry Federation Medal!!

This is the letter that came with it:

"Starfleet command would like to take the time tonight to honor an exceptional officer. We would like to officially award LT Samantha the Top Technical Performance medal for her work on the Stargate. Her tireless efforts in both research and technical paws-on application has been a tremendous asset to Starfleet and the Furry Federation. We are very proud of this officer and her invaluable contribution to our technical and scientific advancement. Concatulations. Lt. Samantha."

My litterbox problems are going away. (for now)

Mom bought me a Booda Dome covered litter box and filled it with Fresh Step crystals litter. She placed it in the room where I've been peeing on the carpet. So far *knock on wood* I've been using the Booda Dome instead of the carpet. I've been doing my "other business" in a separate uncoverd box in another corner of the room. As long as Mom stays on "scoop patrol" I'll use it. Mom and Dad are finally relieved!!

Thanksgiving

As Part of the Furry Federation Thankfulness month. All officers are required to list the things they are thankful for in their purrrsonal logs. So here are but a few things that I am thankful for.

1. My loving Mom and Dad
2. My warm Home.
3. Good food.
4. Sisters and a Brother to smack around.
5. Great Catster Friends!!!!
6. My fur guy Puppy
7. ..and last but not least...I'm extra thankfull that Mom and Dad clean my messes.

It didn't last

I'm still having litter box issues. Mom found fresh urine in the carpet this morning. She had to get out the baking soda and peroxide again.

I finally used the box!!!

I don't know how long I'll keep it up. I've had a problem for over a year now. Mom has tried everything. This weekend my Mom treated the carpet with a baking soda/peroxide/lemon dishwashing liquid concoction. It's used to neutralize cat urine. Then she set up a large new litter pan and new litter pan mat in one of my favorite "spots". Mom and Dad are happy. (for now)
