Car Ride To A Place I Haven't Been Yet!

Meow,

So meowmy informs me that I am going to be going for a car ride. I'm not so sure I like this idea. She tells me that we are going to a place called St. Leonard's Catholic Church to get our picture taken. I guess that is o.k. as Catholic has Cat in the name right? It must be a cat friendly place. I just wonder why meowmy hasn't taken me here before. She tells me that she hasn't done this as this is supposed to be a holy place where people worship and it would be very disrespectful if I started meowing really loud during the service. She told me that I need to try and behave when we are there to get out picture taken and that I need to try and look as cute as possible in the pictures as some of them will be going out to friends and family in holiday cards.

I will share more about my professional photo shoot tomorrow!

Meow,

So meowmy is going to this street festival near where we live called Jammin on Janesville. A lot of businesses along the road are giving out samples and having $1 food items to try and bring in business while road construction is being done. There is also live entertainment too. One of the businesses participating just happens to be my vet's office The Animal Doctor. I sure hope they are giving out free samples of cat food this year. Also, maybe they will be selling nip toys. They were last year. Hopefully meowmy will come home with presents tonight. It's going to be a little chilly out, otherwise meowmy would take me with her in the stroller, but she doesn't want me to get cold.

Hope everycat has a purrfect Friday and a great weekend!

Fire Safety 101!

Meow,

When meowmy came home last night from Grandmaw and Grandpaw's she told me about the tragedy that occurred about 3 or 4 houses down from their house. She took the opportunity to talk to me about what to do in case of a fire. She told me that I had her permission to go outside right away and as far away from the house as possible, but that this is only in the event of a fire. I meowed at meowmy to tell her I understood. Hopefully nothing like this would ever happen at our place, but meowmy wants me to be preparred and to know what to do.

Everycat reading this should remember this too. You may feel scared and want to hide underneath a couch, but that is the worst thing you could possibly do. Please remember to leave the house!

Meowmy witnessed a fire near Grandmaw and Grandpaw's house!

Meow,

Meowmy was visiting Grandmaw and Grandpaw this afternoon when all of a sudden she heard sirens. She went outside to see what was going on and about 3 houses down from Grandmaw and Grandpaw's house there was a fire. A man came out and it looked like he was either burned or had smoke inhalation. Then they brought out some animals. Two dogs appeared to be just fine. A little black dog was passed out and there was also a little cat too. After working on him/her for a while the firemen were able to revive the little dog, but unfortunately the little cat ended up going to the Rainbow Bridge as they just couldn't bring him/her back. Everyone was cheering for the firefighters when they were able to save the dog. At the same time, meowmy was really sad about the little cat that crossed over the Bridge. Maybe you Bridge kitties will be right there today to greet him/her. It was a cute, fluffy cat with white, black and orange spotted fur. Not sure of it's name. It appeared that there was only that one human in the house at the time. Hopefully he will have a speedy recovery. The ambulance came and took him to the hospital right away.

It's times like this that are a very good reminder to our humans to have a good escape plan in case of a fire and to make all trusted neighbors aware of any animals living in the house.

Hope everycat is having a happy and safe holiday weekend!

Where is my Kid's Fish Fry to go?

Meow,

Meowmy went to a fish fry last night with grandmaw and grandpaw last night. She came home with leftovers, but just some french fries. I was wondering where my kids meal was. They had kids fish fries for children 12 and under and I'm 9. Meowmy said the fish was really good too and normally she can't stand fish. Next time meowmy warms up those fries, I guess I'll have to go and steal some from her out of spite.

Not a happy kitty!

Did Someone Say Something About Chocolate?

Meow,

So I heard my meowmy's telephone conversation with Grandmaw this morning. Since my meowmy has off work this Saturday, they were talking about going to the Burlington Chocolate Fest. Did I just hear right chocolate? As in that yummy ice cream I had a little taste of? Meowmy tells me that yes, I heard right, but that I can't come. She says I was never supposed to taste that chocolate ice cream of hers anyway, because chocolate will make us cats very sick! I say "No fair! How can something that tastes so good be so bad for us?" I say they need to come up with a festival that is much more cat friendly with cat friendly food. If I had my way, the festival would have all things catnip, plenty of fish, chicken and turkey flavored treats. I might even have a cat treat eating contest and carnival games. Most impawtantly, there would be free stroller rentals. All us cats would get in free and humans would be the only ones that would have to pay admission.

Anymeow, just thought I'd throw in my two cents regarding the Chocolate Festival. I hope Meowmy, Grandmaw, and Grandpaw have fun at it without me (pouts)!

I Was Bad and Almost Gave Meowmy a Real Scare!

Meow,

So right before Grandmaw was going to come over, meowmy decided to have some chocolate ice cream. It was one of those little individual things of ice cream. Well, meowmy had taken the lid off and put in on her computer desk. I decided to jump up and when meowmy wasn't paying attention and went and started to lick the chocolate ice cream off the lid. Luckily, meowmy caught me right away and took it away. So I only licked up just a tiny bit. Still meowmy was a little afraid, so she decided to call my V-E-T's office to ask them if she should be worried about me. They told her that as long as it was just a tiny bit, that she shouldn't have to worry. I wonder how many of you other cats out there have done that to your meowmies or daddies?

Hope everycat is behaving out there! Don't do anything that I wouldn't, mol!

Meow,

Meowmy and Grandmaw both have off work today, so they decided that they were going to work on cleaning the carpets over at our place. Don't get me wrong, I love clean carpets, but I hate Huge Scarey Monsters (a.k.a. Carpet Cleaners). I think I'll have to go hide downstairs or under meowmy's new bed.

Also, there was some talk of Meowmy, Grandmaw and Grandpaw all going out to lunch at this newish place near them called Papa Joes. I sure hope they have chicken sandwiches there and that they think to bring me one home.

I Took A Stroll Yesterday! (Not the Kind I Wanted To Go On- Either!)

Meow,

Yesterday afternoon meowmy scoops me up and tells me that we are going for a stroll. What she didn't tell me is that we were strolling over to The Animal Doctor (a.k.a The V-E-T). She also decided to bring her camera along. We get there and we see their Holiday Tree up. They decorate this fake evergreen tree for all the different holiday occasions. They had the tree decorated with all this patriotic stuff for Memorial Day. Meowmy took a picture of me with it. It was very purrty! She also took a picture of me near the sign. Anymeow, I was fine until they took me in to have my blood drawn and my nails clipped. I crowled and hissed really loud. Meowmy could hear me from the waiting room as she always does. It will probably be a couple of days before I'll get the results of my blood work. My V-E-T just wanted me to have some blood work done as part of my physical as I am getting a little older and she just wants to make sure I don't have the start of any common illnesses that older cats often develop.

Other than that, I've just been chilling out with meowmy when she hasn't been working. A while back she bought me my own copy of the movie Puss N' Boots which I really enjoyed. Hope everycat is doing well.

I Went to the V-E-T yesterday and caused meowmy to have to- go to hers!

Meow,

So yesterday I had an appointment with the V-E-T for my yearly check up. They called me back and asked if they could get my weight. Meowmy thinking it wouldn't be any problem said sure. She got me out of my carrier and one of the clinic cats walked by and meowmy lost her balance and sort of came down on one of my paws. The combination of these two things spooked me, plus it hurt when meowmy landed on my paw. I let meowmy know really well. I chomped into her thumb very hard. It bled pretty hard and got all swollen. She washed it really well and bandaged it up. When we got home, she called her doctor and they were able to get her in. Long story short, meowmy is on antibiotics and she was long overdue for her tetenus shot, so she had that as well. As far as me, I am fine for the most part. I just had what amounted to an ingrown toenail thanks to the soft paws that were on my nails that meowmy swears she will never use again on me. I also had a bit of a wax build up in my left ear. They were going to take some blood from me, but felt I was quite traumatized by the nail clip and the removal of the ingrown nail. It quite literally scared the kitty crap outta me! The V-E-T said just to come back in about a month to have the blood work done. I say meowmy can forget about that one. I'm not going to be a happy camper if that happens!

Anymeow, hope everycat is having a great weekend!
