Arrival Story: I got Bella from a school market in March 1990. I was petless at the time and really wanted an animal. A kitten seemed the ideal solution. She was in a cage with her brothers and sisters, they were all playing, but not her, she was watching all the people! I'm sure she knew that someone would take her home, so she was going to assess the prospects!
Bio: From the beginning Bella was a great hunter, the old tomcat next door taught her to hunt mice and rats at a very early age. Which was great, except, that she'd bring them home for me to see before she killed them. Some of them got away in the house and she'd have to catch them again. Bella has travelled a lot over the past 18 years, and yet she's never been upset by the moving. She just settles into each new home with the same self confidence and establishes her territory straight away. At 18 she's slowing down a little but is still in charge even now. She has always established the rules with each new addition to the family, dog or cat, it doesn't matter to Bella, she's the boss and that's it.
On Thursday July 3rd 2008, Bella crossed to the Rainbow Bridge. Her long life is finally over and she has left a large empty gap in our household. There are no more demands for food, pats, scratches or to be let outside, no more loud purrings in the middle of the night and no more kisses when we least expect it. In short life is pretty sad at present. My only consolations is that she is no longer sick and that she's at the Bridge amongst her sisters. Run free my baby. I miss you heaps.

Well friends, my master plan for removing that pesky kitten is underway! I've decided to fight my battle in secret without the humans realising what I'm up to. On the surface, it LOOKS like I'm mellowing in my old age. I haven't packed my bags and left home like I did when Tabbie arrived. I haven't stopped eating in protest. NO fellow conspirators! I'm using my secret weapon... Hamish!
I must admit I've tried a few undercover attacks myself, you know, hissing and spitting at the pest, boxing his ears, stealing his food. But, they didn't work. So now I've gotten smart. Why do all the work yourself?? I'll just let that big dummy Hamish get rid of the intruder. So, I told Hamish that the kittie would be a great playmate for him, how it would love to play tug of war and wrestle! He believed me! What a gulible fool he is! Now all I have to do is sit back and wait for the results! One squashed and frightened kitten coming up! Mum will be so distressed that she'll find a new home for the little monster and it'll be back to just ME (as it should be).
Well hopefully my next diary entry will be one of victory! Till then my friends...
I first had my suspicions that we were being invaded when Dad came home the other day with a tray and a bag of what smelled like kitty litter. He also came home with a couple of new collars. Somehow I knew they weren't for me. I can wear only one at a time after all.
Then on Sunday, the parents went out all day and came home very late. I was already in bed so I didn't notice anything amiss, but, the next morning, the door to the guest bedroom was closed. That's one of my favourite napping spots, so I wasn't very impressed. Why is it off limits all of a sudden??
Well I found out later that afternoon. WE HAVE TWO NEW INTRUDERS IN THE HOUSE!!!
Mum must have been hiding them in my spare room!!! Anyway, they came creeping downstairs yesterday evening and didn't I give them what for!! I told them to get out of my house in no uncertain terms. But they didn't go! Mum says that one of them is only here for a short time, but the other one is staying!!! NOT HAPPY!!!
This is MY house, and those are MY humans. and MY dogs. We'll just see how long they stay. I'm off to formulate a plan of attack. See you later people.
