It is official. Oingo and I are pawrents!

Of course it was with much sadness that our precious little Eve had to leave earth and fly to The Rainbow Bridge. She was going to be adopted and become part of Oingo's earthly family but she was so sick and just too weak. A lot of you already know the story about Eve and her unhappy and unfortunate beginning on earth. But that was all about to change and she was finally experiencing real love and on her way to her furever home. She was so loved by so many earth familes and so many did all that they could to help Eve to survive and to have a happy life but unfortunately, it was not to be.

And so it was that she made her trip to The Rainbow Bridge and into our arms. Of course, Oingo and I have been here at the Bridge for awhile now and we have been so happy here with each other. We just never dreamed that we would actually have a little one in our lives and I cannot tell you how happy we are now that she is here with us.

I asked Oingo and his Mommy if they thought that we could adopt little Eve since we were already family and she needed someone to care for her. There were so many wonderful angels who were so sweet to little Eve and who wanted desperately to make her journey as easy as possible. But our hearts were aching to welcome her into our home. It just seemed like the right thing to do and she really deserves to be with family.

My wonderful sisfur-in-law, Tabby, and Boingo (Oingo's twin brother) were wanting to love and care for little Eve also. That lucky little kit just doesn't know how truly loved she is. But after some contemplation and discussion, it was decided that Oingo and I would adopt little Eve as our very own daughter. And Tabby and Boingo have so graciously accepted to be Eve's godpawrents. So it is with much joy and happiness that we are announcing that we are finally pawrents! I cannot express how truly happy and excited we are.

Little Eve has made our lives complete and filled a void place that we didn't even realize was there. I just never knew how a little one could fully envelope one's heart and completely take over our entire lives. She has made us both so happy and fulfilled.

We have invited Tabby and Boingo to come to our home this evening for a special dinner to celebrate. Of course they will be bringing their kits along too and little Eve is just ecstatic to be meeting her five little cousins. It will be a joyous time, indeed.

Of course I had to invite my heavenly sibs, Sammy and Smokey to join us in our celebration along with their lovely wives, Clawdia and Fire. And of course, my best friend in the whole heavens, Blossom and her friend, Prissy will be joining us also. Everyone is so truly excited to meet Eve and to welcome her.

We most certainly want to thank all of the angels who have gathered around little Eve in a circle of love and who have helped to make her feel welcome and at home here at The Bridge. It truly made her crossing much easier to feel the love and strength that everyone was sending to her.

Of course, we want to thank all of the earthly angels who did their utmost to help Eve to regain her strength and to be able to live a normal kitty life. So many families and their fur babies were hoping and praying for Eve and doing everything possible to give her a chance to live a happy life with a loving forever family. It is unbelieveable the love and efforts that these very special humans poured forth to help Eve. It is also quite humbling to know that so many humans have such kind and giving hearts. Thank you all for everything that you did in your efforts to give Eve a new beginning.

Just yesterday, I was busy redecorating a little nursery for Eve and Oingo was busy making her a new little kitty doll house to play with. She absolutely loves her new room and her new toys. She quickly fell asleep for her nap this afternoon after a busy day of exploring her new home and playing with her new toys. What a precious, sweet little angel she is. Can you tell that I am a furry purrroud Meowmy?
I just keep pinching myself to see if this is all really happening. Yesterday, we were preparing for our daughter's arrival and today she is actually here with us, forever and always!

Well, I see that it is nearing the dinner hour and our guests will be arriving soon. I must finish up a few last minute details and wake up our sleeping angel so that she can meet and greet the rest of our family and friends.

This is the absolute most wonderful New Year of all. Oingo and I share so much love together and now we share our new little angel; our sweet little daughter, Eve. We are truly, truly blessed and so delighted to finally be pawrents.

And as all new pawrents do, we are proudly showing everyone little Eve's pictures. She has her very own page that was made by Oingo and Boingo's Mommy. It is a beautiful tribute and memory to her short life on earth. You can see her page by typing in her catster id # 1086369. There is a wonderful picture of Eve with her auntie Jody, who so lovingly and thoughtfully gave Eve the chance to put her little feet in some real green grass. How good that must have felt to Eve. We are so happy that she got to have that experience. Thank you Jody and bless you.

Of course, you can also see her pictures on my page too. And somehow, I have a suspicion that her proud Daddy, Oingo will be showing off some of her pictures on his page also. Well, you know how new pawrents are! *Giggles*

Sending special thanks to all of my dear friends

Well, as you can imagine I was truly surprised and deeply honored to have been chosen as Cat Of The Day on Saturday,December 19th. I want to apologize for not getting my thank yous out right away but Meowmy has been having problems with her back and can't sit for very long at the catputer without getting up and doing something else for awhile. So we are going to make a stab at it today and will hopefully get all caught up.

First off, I received a very nice pawmail from Dog (who is a beautfiul orange and white kitty). Isn't that a unique name for a kitty? We also have a doggie friend whose name is Kitty. MOL

Dog wrote:
ConCATs on being Cat Of The Day sweet Angel!! You & Oingo come join me & pals on this fluffy cloud for a celepurratory Nip-Nog :) The rest of my family sends big ConCATs to you as well!!
Angel Hugs
Dog

There was also a nice pawmail with concatulations from our dear friend Hazel Lucy.

I also received so very many rosettes and prezzies from our friends with sweet messages and concatulations. These are listed below and in no particular order. I would love to mention each and every message but Meowmy says that she just cannot sit that long. Please know that I read and enjoyed each and every message and I am truly pleased and honored to have such wonderful, sweet friends who have been so kind and generous to me and helped to celebrate my big honor. I am still shaking my head and finding it hard to believe that I was actually Cat Of The Day! Oh my goodness! What a wonderful honor. Listed below are the prezzies and gifts that was on my page yesterday. I will cherish them all forever.

There was:

A diamond from Clawdia, my sisfur-in-law.
A beautiful heart from Peaches, Lucky at The Bridge, Squirrel, Kitcat & their Mom
A delicate white snowflake from Belle
A cute snowman from Bella, BeeJay (In loving memory), Mufasa, Boots (over the Rainbow Bridge) and family

A bright yellow star from Buddy (always loved)
A frosty snowman from Tate
A fun Christmas stocking from Eddy, Walker, Alexandria, Mookie, Pookah and family
And a wonderful forever crown from Rosie

Thank you all ever so much. I cannot tell you how much your friendship and kindness mean to me and my Meowmy. We never would have even been on Catster or have made so many special friends if so many of you hadn't reached out to my Meowmy when I first came to live at The Rainbow Bridge. And of course, I never would have received this very special and humbling honor if all of those things had not happened.
We love you all and simply could not imagine our lives without all of you being right there with us. And thank you Catster Headquarters for honoring me and choosing me for such a very special award. We love you too! Catster rocks!!

Hugs, purrs and whisker rubs,
Hazel

Oh my catness! I have just received word that I have been chosen as Cat of the Day today!! Thank you Catster headquarters. I do not know how or why I was chosen but I am absolutely flabberghasted.

Oh my good heavens, Meowmy is so far behind on helping Pickles with her thank you's for her DDP and birthday honors and now she thinks that we will really be behind!! MOL She says that I will have to wait a bit for her help until she has things caught up for Pickles. Well, pffftttt!! This is the biggest and most exciting award ever and here I am standing with my paws on my hips; waiting for Meowmy to help me send my thank yous.

I have received so many pawmails and prezzies that I just can't believe it. When we checked our e-mail just now and saw all of those gifts and notes, we couldn't figure out what was going on. I still cannot believe it. *Pinches herself just to be sure that she isn't dreaming*
I am the first of our furmily to achieve such an honor.

I want to thank each and everyone of you who have sent notes and prezzies and we will try to get that all taken care of this weekend. Right now, I see that Meowmy is running off in another direction to do some last minute Christmas shopping. These humans just never seem to get caught up, do they? *Giggles*

Please know that I love you all and truly appreciate everyone that has sent their concatulations my way. I promise to respond to all of you as soon as my typist gets back and gets to work.
I truly hope that she isn't expecting to earn any pay for her help as she is not very reliable. It is so hard to find good help, these days.

Love & purrs dear friends. We will be in touch very soon.

Ice Cream Tag Game

I was tagged by my friend Critter to say what kind of ice cream I look like and then tag five other friends and ask them to do the same.

Well now, I guess that I would have to say that I look most like Oreo ice cream with a tad of orange sherbert mixed in. *giggles*

MMMM, I always liked ice cream but my brofurr Smokey would go nuts over it. Whenever Meowmy or Dad had a dish of ice cream, he would forcefully push his way onto their lap and grab the edge of the bowl with both paws and he had one strong grip! He almost knocked the ice cream dish on the floor numerous times and my pawrents had to keep an extra tight hold on their ice cream bowls when Smokey was around. MOL

Well, let's see. I have to tag five more friends to play this game.
I will tag:
Blossom
Reanan
Butterscotch
Mojo
Hannah
Oingo
(I know that is 6, but I just couldn't stop myself) MOL!

two beautiful poems from The Rainbow Bridge.

Most of you are familiar with the poem entitled The Rainbow Bridge. Some of you are not; so I am going to post this poem and another here in my diary for all to view. Hopefully they will be of some comfort to those pawrents who have had their beloved pets preceed them in going ahead and waiting for them at The Bridge. These poems have been a great comfort to my Meowmy and have brought her peace of mind since my passing on; she knows that I wait for her at The Rainbow Bridge.

"On the Other Side of the Bridge"

As I flew over the Rainbow Bridge my heart was heavy to be leaving,
Leaving behind my beloved family and I swallowed a sob as I heard them grieving
I kept looking back to keep them in view, trying not to look ahead,
When suddenly my wings spread wide and strong, no longer was I filled with dread.
I looked around as I flew so high, seeing a wondrous place,
Birds were soaring high and free with grandeur and heavenly grace.
The sky is so blue and grass is so green with seeds to stun the mind,
And here I'm told I can eat all I want, without worry as to their kind.
Oh, Mommy, there are flowers and brooks, meadows and trees,
Whose branches gives shelter and whose blossoms feed bees.
And, Mommy, dear Mommy, you know how I tried,
To get well for you and how hard you cried.
On this side of the Bridge there is not one sick pet,
Because, mommy, I'm told your prayers were met.
And God lifted me up and helped me to fly,
Over the Bridge and soar to the sky.
He said I should wait here, that one day I'd see,
My Mommy, come running to give scritches to me.
I'll wait for you, Mommy. I'll watch for your face,
And forever we'll share this wonderful place.

"Rainbow Bridge"

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge, there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water, and warm Spring weather. Those old and frail animals are young again. Those who have been maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other. But there is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on earth. So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up. The nose twitches, the ears are up, the eyes are staring, and this one suddenly runs from the group. You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and again and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet. It is then that you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be seperated.

Secrets from The Rainbow Bridge

Tee Hee! I know a little secret. Shhh, don't tell anyone Ok?
Well, I guess that "the cat is already out of the bag anyhow", but I just have to share some exciting news.

You see, I have been purring furrever that my sweet husband Oingo and I would see the day that his twin brother, Boingo, found his soul mate.
Well, finally; after all this time, Boingo is dating a furry wonderful girl. Many of you might know her; her name is Tabby. You can read about their first date and the fun; anonymous zealies that Boingo was sending to Tabby in their diaries. She couldn't figure out at first who was sending them but I think that she was hoping that they were from Boingo. She seemed quite relieved and happy to know that they were from him when he finally admitted it.
You know Boingo was really nervous at first because he knew that Tabby was a married lady. But he was such a gentleman and did not want to be anything more than friends if she was not available.
I think that he was quite relieved and happy to hear that Tabby is a single girl again.
So Boingo finally got the nerve to ask Tabby on a first date. They had a fun and romantic picnic together and I think that they really like each other. Ooh! *claps paws in excitement*

Thinks back to not so long ago:
I remember when Oingo proposed to me on a most beautiful day at a very special picnic that he had made for us. Oh it was so romantic but he was so nervous. *Giggles* I will never forget how he seemed so distracted and uneasy. He was so relieved when I said "yes" that it was most laughable. It didn't take him long to dig into all of that food as soon as his nerves had settled. I think that he must not have eaten for a week!!

I am sure that Boingo had those same nervous feelings when he asked Tabby to join him for a picnic too. (These California boys must really like picnics) ;)
But I hear that they had a wonderful time and that Boingo was much more relaxed once he knew that Tabby was "interested". Oh I do so hope that things work out for them. They both are such nice kitties and deserve their share of happiness and having someone to share their lives with.

I was teasing Oingo yesterday and I said that he and his twin brother must like Ohio girls. You see, Tabby and I are both from Ohio. Isn't that neat?
Oingo says that us Ohio girls are a difficult catch but that we are definitely worth it. *Blushes and giggles*

Anyhow, I am just so excited for sweet Tabby and my handsome brother-in-law Boingo. I think that they make a wonderful couple and I hope that they will continue to have fun and romance. I can only wish that they have as much happiness together as Oingo and I have with one another.

Tabby, in case you read this, here's a little secret that I have to share with you. Those California boys are quite the romantics and quite the jokesters too! ( I am sure that you are finding that out already)
Pssst! Wouldn't it be something if we would end up being related? *wink wink*
I hope that the two of you don't mind me writing about you in my diary but I am just so excited and happy for both of you.
Love and hugs and best wishes,
Hazel

Oh My!

*Faints dead away when she opens a surprise zealie that came in the mail.
Wakes up and begins fanning herself and wiping perspiration from her brow*
Goodness gracious, sakes alive! I just cannot believe my own eyes!
*Gasps* Oh MY!
You will never believe what my wonderful, silly husband has done now. He is just full of surprises. Hee Hee.
Well, he sent me a most, "ahem" shall we say, purrvocative picture enclosed inside some bright red lips. The zealie was signed "anonymous" but when I opened it, I saw a very familiar looking face. I could not believe that it was my own sweet husband. OMC! Do you know what he did? Why, he ripped off his shirt---put on a grass skirt and asked me if I would join him for a hula dance! Oingo, is that really you?
Now I guess I know what Oingo has been doing while my close friend Blossom and I have been busy with redecorating her home, working in the flower gardens and shopping. That rascal has been working out!! (And the results are amazing!!) Goodness, I just can't seem to stop staring at that picture. Hee Hee! *Blushes profusely*
Well, you all will just have to see for yourselves. Just click on my zealie with the big red lips or see the picture that I've added on my page. Oh dear, do you suppose that my page just might catch on fire? Hee Hee!
You know what they say, "you can look but you can't touch!
He's mine girls, ALL mine!!" And what a lucky purr I am. Whew! Just looking at that picture gives me fever. You know---there is something else very familiar about that picture though. It looks suspiciously like another Hula Man that I encountered a while back. Hmmm, I wonder if Oingo and Merlin are cooking something up? I think that they definitely have been working out together. I will have to keep an eye on the two of them. Hee Hee!
That shouldn't be such a hard thing to do though. I mean, what self-respecting she-cat wouldn't want to keep an eye on such a hottie body. Whew! Is it hot in here or is it just me? Begins giggling and blushing bright red. Oh MY!!
*Opens the patio doors and steps outside to cool off* Wait! What is that strange sound? She sees her very own "hunka hunka hula man" sitting by the pool in his grass skirt; sipping a cold nip tea and beating on---is that Tonga drums? He grins at her and says that he will race her to the pool.
Well now! I think that I will just let him win this time. In the mean-while, I'll be praying for a little breeze that will rustle that grass skirt. ;) Va Va Voom!
*Starts beating out a rythmn on the drums that would make any Hula Man wanna shake those hips* Hee Hee Hee! *Wink, Wink*

Case of the green undergarment solved!

Oh my catness. My super sleuth husband has figured out his anonymous shamrock gift giver. Yes, friends, it was me all along.
Falls on the floor in gales of laughter. I had such fun teasing my Oingo and he fell for it hook, line and sinker. (Or so it appeared). I do suspect that he was watching me very carefully and had an inkling that it could be me but he wasn't positive until I started hinting to him. I did hate to keep him in suspense much longer.

I was truly afraid that he was going to have green shamrock melt-down. He was even hiding under the couch and growling. MOL! Poor Oingo will be seeing green shamrocks and large green bras in his sleep. Hee Hee Hee!

Oh, I had such fun and it was just hilarious to see the look on his face each time that he received yet another shamrock. I think that he was actually beginning to think that the leprechauns were lurking in our home.

Well, you know, he and his friend Merlin had a pretty good joke going regarding me, there for awhile. Oingo put Merlin up to the task of embarassing me and he did a fine job of it too. OMC! It still makes me blush to this day; I had no idea that Oingo was behind all of that until he confessed. And so when I saw my chance to get even, I pounced on it. *More fits of laughter* Oh my gosh, I am laughing so much that
I can barely see to type. *Giggles*

Well, Oingo, my sweetness. I have waited---ever so patiently waiting and watching for my chance to get you back and now I can truly say;
GOTCHA!!!! *Laughing uncontrollably*

Happy St. Patty's Day, Oingo. Oh, and uhmmm, can I have my green bra back now, purrlease? ROFL!

Well, Well!!

Tis St. Patty's Day , don't 'ya know?
I meant to write in my diary sooner but it seems that I have been a bit distracted. Ye see, it seems that someone has been sending anonymouse gifties to me handsome husband Oingo.
Should I be jealous? Well, now I am not the type to be jealous and most of the gifties have been quite entertaining, but there is one, mmm, that is a bit (shall we say) risque!? Oh my catness!

It makes me blush just to think of it. It is a green ladies' undergarment with large "cups". Hee Hee Hee! Oops! *Blush, Blush*
Then there was another one sent later that was "2" large "cups" of green beer that said, "one for each cup--fill 'er up." Oh my! Well, my goodness. Now, I ask ye, what lady that ye know of would want to have beer in her undergarments? (Hides a giggle behind her paw).

Oingo has no clue as to who is sending these anonymous gifts (or so he tells me). Well, he does have many mischievous friends so it could be almost anyone. If he is suspecting any one in particular, he hasn't told me yet.

Oingo whispered to me that the culprit struck again in the night and sent him two more gifties. One was a very nice Top O' The Mornin' St. Patty's Day greeting and the other was a little more, uhmmm, Oh, my gosh----turns bright red. Well, you will just have to look at Oingo's page and see it for yourselves. It is a naughty little leprechaun whose soul purpose is to make a lady, such as myself, to just blush a glowing red color. *Hides her face and blushes profusely* Peeks between her paws just to be sure that she saw what she thought she saw!

I am thinking that this anonymouse gift giver must be someone with an awful lot of zealies and who is having a fun time keeping Oingo guessing at who they are. Hmmm, rubs whiskers. I wonder if there is any cat out there who owes Oingo a little pay back for some joke that he might have pulled at one time or another. MOL!
My Oingo CAN be the quite the prankster too, you see.

Well, the mystery goes on. Oingo has thanked me for being such a good sport and for not being mad at him about all of this. Well, I must admit that I was a little jealous at first when he received that green undergarment. I thought that some lady cat might be flirting with him. But I saw how flustered he was and he did not try to hide it from me but asked for my assistance in helping to solve his mystery. *Grins* So I will not be jealous but will support him in his search for the mystery gift giver.

Maybe 'tis only the fate of the leprechauns, I am thinking. I do hear that they are mischiveous little pranksters and I also hear tell that all of us have a wee bit of Irish in us on St. Patty's Day. 'Tis a beautiful day for a prank or two, don't 'ya know?

Happy St. Patrick's Day to one and all and be on the look out for the anonymouse giftie giver. Tee Hee! And don't forget to be wearin' o' the green or ye just might get a wee bit of a pinch. Faith and begorrah! Ye know that someone out there is "Erin go Braughless"!!! ROFL Oh my catness!!!
