Arrival Story:
I saw Nub-nub running around the neighborhood and noticed something odd with her tail. There was only about 3/4 of it there and the end of it was bright red. I couldn't get near enough to see what was wrong for a couple of weeks. I left food for her every day at the same time and she soon learned that my voice meant food. I finally saw her eating on my porch one night and to my horror saw that her tail had a degloving injury. I got some antibiotics from a vet to give to her until I could catch her so she could be seen. It took another week before I could get her to eat in a crate with me sitting there. As soon as she did, I closed it up and took her to the vet. He had to amputate all but the last inch of her tail. I had her in a separate room at home to recover. She must have realized what I had done, because she has loved me fiercely ever since. I had to wait for her to recover before I could get her spayed, and during the interim, she managed to slip out while she was in heat. Well.. I'm sure you can guess what happened.

Bio:
Nub ended up having a c-section to deliver her babies. She had some BIG babies. I contribute this to the fact that she is very small and had ample food to grow the babies for the first time in her life. She became the proud momma to Sugar, Bigfoot, Mitzi and Casey. She also nursed 3 kittens from another rescue who came in at the same time. Way to go, Nubby!!

Forums Motto:
A little blessing who's gone too soon.

Nub will be missed.:
Sadly I came home to find Nub was very sick when I got home from work. I took her to the vet and discovered how poor her prognosis truly was. As much as I wanted to, I could not fight her fight for her. I cradled her head as she earned her wings and flew over the rainbow bridge.

My Diary

I'm still loved...

My meowmy still thinks of me often. After I went to Rainbow Bridge, my body was left behind. Many people put the bodies in the ground, but Meowmy knew she would be moving away from where she is now. She didn't want for what was left of me to be somewhere that she couldn't come visit, so she had my remains cremated. So now, she has a little box with my ashes sitting out. She said she was a little sad because she has yet to buy an urn. Apparently, this is a prettier place for my ashes to be? She's hoping to find one that is in the shape of a cat.

So I was wondering... Do any of my furriends know somewhere to find a pretty box that doesn't cost too much for my meowmy to put my ashes in? Maybe she'll find something soon. I'm okay with the box that she has now. I'm just glad she loved me enough to want to keep me with her.

Purrs to all my furrs.

Meowmy misses me

Although Meowmy doesn't cry as much about me, she's been missing me a lot lately. She keeps seeing me in the places I used to sleep. She's really been remembering the way I used to lean on her when we cuddled. I think part of that has to do with the way Digit has been giving her lovins. He jumps onto her lap and stays standing while leaning his whole body against her. She likes to think that I told Digit how to cuddle the "right" way.

She's been thinking a lot about Mario and Brent lately, too. The chair outside of the kitchen window was where Mario used to soak up the sun. She keeps looking out there and longing to see him lounging there. If the mean neighbors had waiting just a little longer, Meowmy thinks she would have managed to get him inside and neutered. It breaks her heart to know he was almost saved from the people who thought their plants were more important than the lives of those two kitties. Some people can be so mean.

Well.. I just wanted to share that, although I've been gone for a while now, I'm not forgotten.

My furst year at the Bridge.

Well.. It's been a year already as of the 26th. Meowmy was on the road and couldn't type for me, so now I'm getting caught up.

I've met some wonderful furiends here at the bridge. They really helped Meowmy, too. Thank you to all of my wonderful furiends who sent such pretty pawresents to commemorate my annifursary. Meowmy is still a bit bummed out. She's been playing with my collar and such.
