About 12 years ago, a small band of cats arrived in the neighborhood. They were led by a very friendly black male I promptly named Poe. In the group were 2 adult females I named Raven and Annabelle. There were also 2 calico kittens who were named Lenore and El Dorado. (Anyone see a theme here with the names?) I found a home for Poe fairly quickly(after I had him neutered). One of the feral adult females was sadly hit by a car. Neighbors who witnessed the even said it looked like the driver intentionally aimed for Annabelle. Raven just disappeared. I managed to catch one of the calicos, Lenore, and had her spayed. She was then adopted by a neighbor. Ellie just sort of disappeared,but then showed up again the next spring, very pregnant. I caught her and brought her into the house so her kittens would not be feral. the intention was, she would have the kittens and when they were weaned, she would be spayed and go back outside. Well, she is still inside.
Bio:
Ellie has never completely gotten over being a semi wild cat and is very shy of most people. She does loved to to petted, however, when you are in bed. Maybe she feels safe cause we are lying down.
She gave birth to 8, yes, 8, kittens. 7 of the kittens survived. I found home for 5 of them and kept two lovely orange boys.
Ellie is very devoted to one of our other cats, Stinker, and is much braver when he is around.
