Hullo Catster
Mother's DayMay 14th 2006 7:30 pm[ Leave A Comment ] I am glad Mother's Day will not be around again until next year. Mom went to go visit her aunt, who has not seen me yet and is a cat fan. She put me in my carrier - to which I said "Wow!" I hate that thing. Then, we drove to her aunt's. She stopped at Petsmart along the way. Since I could not buy her a gift, she decided to buy gifts for Cuchulainn and I. I got a pink collar with rhinestone hearts. Oh, how manly. *Sigh* And Cuchulainn got a blue flowered bandana. I sang my protests to Mom most of the way while she tried to console me. But she says I have a pretty voice. And she I think she enjoyed listening to me because one of her speakers in her car is not working. But she would have rathered if I were singing because I was happy! Auntie was very nice and quickly made me feel comfortable. I am not a fan of wet food and I was a bit put off my the Whiskas wet food she kept putting under my nose. Mom tried to explain this and that in the past, wet food has not agreed with me. But Auntie was not paying attention. Thankfully, I did not eat it and Mom was glad because she did not want me getting sick in my carrier on the ride home. On the ride home, I was much more relaxed. I only seemed to cry when some annoying songs came on the radio. Mom agreed with my assessment and changed the station. Then Mom and I hit the interstate. Apparently I dislike it as much as she. I helped her yowl at some guy in a Jeep. Mom told me that if I learned to like the car more, I would be a great cruising buddy. I don't know about that. I was just glad to get home and stretch out. I hid between the couches for about half an hour - just in case she decided to go visit some other relatives and tow me along. Then I came out and followed Mom around the house like normal. I am glad to be home. Hopefully Mom won't get anymore crazy ideas about me being her cruise buddy until next Mother's Day! But I love my Mom anyway!
Hullo thereMay 13th 2006 12:55 am[ Leave A Comment ] I am Liam at your service. I have had a difficult life. I have been in three homes in the last year and finally, my new Mom seems to realize just how realize just how special I am. She makes sure I have everything I need. Cuchulainn and I are given the best of food and we sleep beside her on the bed. Cuchulainn insists on making a racket in the morning to rouse her from her sweet slumber. However, if I am hungry, I sit nearby and meow. She responds better to that. When Mom is at work, I baby-sit Cuchulainn. If he cries to play, even if I am on Mom's lap, I will go and entertain him. I have the manners of royalty and Mom and Grandma call me "Sweet Prince." I do not much like to play. I would much prefer to read beside Mom or lounge on her mahogany swan chaise while she writes her novel. I will offer my sage input when needed. When Mom gets home from work, she and I will sit on the touch together and watch Charmed while Dad and Cuchulainn will play on the computer. They do not know what they miss. When I first met Cuchulainn, I was a bit surprised that I was supposed to share my home with such a ruffian. But Cuchulainn has grown on me...a bit like a fungus. However, I am not so averse to him now. When Mom and Dad gave him a bath and closed the door, I heard him yowling. I was instantly at the door, insisting they unhand him. The little hellion is rather persistent. When our apartment flooded and we lived with Grandpa, Cuchulainn decided he wanted to play with his feathers on a stick. These were hidden on the top bunk. He threw himself - at 4AM mind you - at the bed, hitting the metal ladder, the window sill, the end table, and finally the floor. He did this several times until Mom and Dad awoke - by the time Mom dragged herself from bed, Cuchulainn was sitting on the floor, happily nibbling his feathers. They moved these to the closet. At this point, Cuchulainn decided to scratch and scratch at the closet door and mewl incessantly. With an exasperated sigh and a little bit of guilt along with the onset of work the next day, Mom decided to put Cuchulainn in the bathroom. (He likes to lay on the sink for some reason.) Cuchulainn only offered a soft mew of protest. But I bellowed like a foghorn until Mom let him out. Finally he settled and I must say, thank goodness for the snow that night. Mom and Dad could not get to work and had to call off. We cats had a lovely day with them. Oh, and Mom, if you are reading this, I am terribly sorry for hurting you. If you are wondering, I am front paw declawed. I am a bit overweight and wanted to sit on the back of the armchair. Mom was sitting in it and was playing a video game. Her hand motions were annoying me. I thought her shoulder would make a lovely foothold. She begged to differ. And I was pained when I heard her yell and saw the deep slice wrapping 3/4 around her arm and the bright ribbon of blood. She washed it off and gave me a pat and told me it was okay. But it is late and I am ready for bed. I bid you all good night.
