Arrival Story: I found Zeus at the pound one lucky day. He has a very interesting life story! He was found in the parking lot of a local Captain D's, and was about to be killed by the manager. Luckily, one of the employees saved him and brought him to the pound. He was adopted by another family before I had him, and they had him declawed and neutered. Zeus (or Calvin, as his name was then) still wasn't very well socialized and used to play bite rather hard and chase the family's children around. So they brought him back to the pound. Luckily, I wandered in one day and he found an owner who truly appreciated his special nature!

Bio: Zeus is now a rather comfortable indoor cat, although the wanderlust gets him occasionally and he yearns to be outside again. He has also mellowed out, and doesn't bite much anymore. He has even taken to curling up in bed with us and purring with content! Zeus truly is an extraordinary cat!

Grrrr, J&N won't let me out ever again. One night, they didn't latch and lock the back door, so Charlie and I pulled it open and had a fun night out! J saw us the next morning in the backyard near the firewood piles and called to me. I came back so I could get some food, but then she wouldn't let me out again! That is so unfair.
They claim it's dangerous out there, but I don't think that's true. I'm sure those dogs next door are easy to beat. After all, I'm Zeus! I can beat anything and anyone. There's so much to sniff and inspect out there. I yowl and yowl every time either J or N head for the door, but to no avail. They are very good at keeping me inside. Hmmph!
The squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, and birds especially better watch out for me. Who knows when I might escape again?

Those brr-y weeks of winter we had are gone now. Seeing that white stuff all over the ground was neat, though. Maybe it will be back next year?
Things are starting to not be so cold in the house, either. We can open the windows every so often so Charlie and I can sit in them and look out through the screens. I love it when they open windows- Charlie and like to race around to each window as it's opened and see what view is best that day. You've got to maximize your bird-watching time by choosing the best window with the most interesting birds in it. Otherwise, what's the point?

I got some cool new toys for christmas. One was a stuffed sushi and the other was a GREEN RATTLY MOUSE with feather tail, my favorite! Charlie got some toys too and we have been batting them in and out of our giant paper-filled box in the living room.
I found out I don't like turkey. Euuuch.
Looking outside the window lately has been incredible. You wouldn't believe the amount of birds here. Plus, we have squirrels and chipmunks but I don't think J&N like them so much. I think they're pretty cool because they're fun to watch.
