Arrival Story: My person saved me many years ago. I was in a tiny cage in a petshop. :( All the other cats were big Maine Coons and I was sitting in the corning so tiny, but looking way cuter than them! I stole as many of the toys in the cage as I could hold onto and was guarding them. I was very little and they were very big and the big cats would steal MY toys. My person put her whole arm in to take all the toys and give them to me! Everyone always said how cute I was, but she couldn't resist me. She came back and took me home. We are best friends.
Bio: This is what my person says: "Max is very slim and he has an unusual heart-shaped face. He is smart, caring, and comes when he is called. Actually he runs and comes with his tail waving. Loves tummy scratches, holding your finger in his paw, and knowing where you are at all times. All the other cats respect him. him... Max is very healthy, fluffy, and doesn't look a day over 5. I love him more than anyone."
Yes. She is correct. If you shut a door I will fling myself at it and meow sadly until you realize what you've done. I expect appologies, and I don't like many people. My person says I'm snobby, and I think she's proud. Did I mention that I like looking in the mirror??

I've Been On Catster Since:
It's been awhile since I had a new entry...
Recently I've been sick. I went in to see my doctor and she said I lost too much weight. I had to have another blood test which showed that my liver values were even higher, but no reason I should weigh so little. I had to start taking those liver vitamins again. They're huge and ucky, so pill pockets only fool me for so long.
I have been eating everything in sight which is why I had to have an appointment in the first place, but my test results always show no thyroid problem. *I wonder where my thyroid is??*
That's when everyone got worried and I had to go to a big clinic and I had to wait over a week to get an appointment. They shaved me half naked *indignant* and took pictures of my insides. My liver looks fine, so I just have to keep taking my liver vitamins and new liver healthy crunchy food, AND new liquid liver medicine. I thought I might like it for a while, but the chicken taste didn't fool me for long...Now they stuff a syringe in my mouth at dinner. Luckily, since I am so hungry all the time, I get to keep eating my canned food twice a day. I have a very smart doctor because they also gave me an advanced thyroid test just in case -my vet's old kitty had the same problem but was undiagnosed for a year before this test showed a hidden thyroid problem. Just days later I had more pills in the mail. These are for my thyroid, but they're so tiny that I suspect they are sneaking them into my treats...Whatever they're doing must be working because I am shinier and my bones don't stick out so much anymore. I'll see my doctor soon and maybe I'll have gained weight? I had my 17th birthday too.
Then last week mommy brought this tiny little ball of evil into the house. I heard her say that she had found a homeless kitten in a bad neighborhood and brought it home so she wouldn't get hurt.
Why do I think it's evil? It's the same color as TRAVIESA, the foster cat that came here 5/6 years ago and never left. I can deal with her orange brother because he's my daddy's kitty now...Back to the evil...Traviesa was that small when she first came here and made those weird noises, but I guess she wasn't this cute. It's name was Alex, named after daddy's friend's daughter who found and helped her. My mommy found it a home after the doctor, and her friends, and daddy's mom all couldn't take it. My mommy wanted to trade it for Traviesa and I don't think she was kidding. My doctor was going to take her over a year ago, but her husband said no.
Alex's new name is Allie and she went home with my mommy's mommy's co-worker. I'm glad because my mommy was always in the other room with her and Allie was always meowing and purring...I hear she moved in with a new sister that looks just like her (and like Traviesa)
My mommy is planning on bringing Allie's brother or sister home too if she can get someone to catch it. Her other brother got taken into the house above the porch it lived under and her mom is too wild...
well, that's all that's new for now.
Hi guys! Sorry to worry you, but I am OKAY! My vet got back to my mama ASAP and I just have a bigger liver, which is okay for cats my age. I will be 16 in July. So you can still send fish and cards...
I'll be having blood tests more regularly now- every few months- to make sure I stay happy and beautiful. I'd LOVE other kitty penpals going through the same thing because I HATE needles!!!! Please write me and tell me about your experiences, okay?
This week my mama scared me. I haven't been to that sterile-needle place that i guess is our "doctor's office" in a while. Ha! I know my mama hates going to hers cause she tells me everything. Well, I got taken OUTSIDE
->HELP!< it's so scary; all wild and icky bugs everywhere..hard ground, dirty grass... Anyways I NEVER have to go in one of those stinky carriers like most cats. Those are for regular cats. I ride in a sweatshirt. But this time the doctor was outside my house! Dr. Waters has her own big thing on wheels with all the doctor stuff in it and she works out of there now. I get to see her cause I am SPECIAL. She is very caring. I was promised a checkup - look at me -I'm gorgeous! and a shot. :( Then, since I'm 15, I got bloodwork. I thought I was in for a week of spoiling!
Bad week continued....
So, my liver is 300 instead of in the 100's. I try to be healthy, I don't touch catnip (it makes me soo sick), what more can i do?? My mama, of course got my results the day after my experience. I had time to reflect and i'm glad I get to go to MY doctor; I'm pretty loved. Next thing I know, my ears are being cleaned and I get no dinner!! I should've known something was up... By 8:30 the next morning I am at my old doctor office - mama said that Dr.Waters doesn't have a giant camera that takes pictures of my insides, so we need to borrow one. And the files go right to my doctor, so any secret plans anyone had for selling my beautiful pics up on ebay are squelched. While I'm there, they take my blood, feed me, and take my blood again. Ebay? No, mama says it goes to Dr. Waters.
So now I wait for my results. I'm a little nervous. Cards and donations of salmon, chicken, and...well, whatever you can spare are accepted. Please use next day shipping to avoid spoilage...
