Hazel Lucy's List for Kitties in Need of Purrs

Hello everyone! It has been two years now since I have gone to the Bridge and a bit over three since I took over the Purr List. I feel that I can no longer do the proper justice to the Purr List. I am looking for a volunteer to take over the Purr List. It takes a good deal of time and is a huge commitment so please ensure that if you are interested you are able to make the time commitment. You will need to have no less than 2.5 free hours per week to cull the list, email cats on it to update their status, and add new requests. If interested contact me and we can discuss it.

Tears...

Tears of sadness stain my cheeks this evening friends. A dear friend of mine SPENCER was helped along to the Rainbow Bridge today. His parents loved him dearly. He had fallen ill a couple of weeks back and had been diagnosed with small cell lymphoma. He had exploratory surgery a week ago and was to start chemo this Friday. His parents chose to help him to the Bridge today as he also had an, as of yet undiagnosed secondary illness that caused a rapid decline in his health. They suspect the secondary illness may have been FIP.

Good days, bad days, revisited...

Well here we go again. We found out our old neighbor died leaving behind her adult daughter with Down's Syndrome who cannot live on her own. We need to look into the situation some more. We are quite sad.

Good times, bad times...

you know I've had my share, isn't that how the song goes.
Anyhow, things are looking up. Mom passed her re qualification test, which is good. Means she doesn't have to go practice every weekend for awhile and can snuggle with me on these summer weekends. My sister Hopper's ringworm seems to be clearing up well too.
Other than the fact that the new Billy Idol CD/DVD came today and we are being blasted with the spiky haired man's music things are good. (Okay really I exaggerate, Mom knows are ears are sensitive and keeps it at a reasonable level in the house; wouldn't want to be in her car though!)

Purr machine

I am purring for my friend Oliver's sister Kila. She has recently had issues with her lungs and is now having to use an inhaler. Steroids seemed to have had some effect on her condition and the prognosis doesn't appear to be as dire as it was a couple of weeks ago. I like Ollie and his family and am sad he has to go through with this.
I am also purring for my mom who recently got disappointing news. She is having a rough time lately and I am spending a lot of time trying to cuddle with her, even though I prefer cuddling with Dad. She is sad and she needs me. I like to try to be there for her during the rough patches, hey someone has to right.
I am just trying to be a good cat and spread love. I swear I do not try to cause trouble, well sometimes I throw up, but I would never purposely try to cause trouble, sometimes my sister Chloe has to be smacked, but I only do this when she deserves it, I promise. I love Catster and am truly grateful for the great friends I have made here.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the purrs and rosettes over the last few weeks. I went to the doctor and had an elevated creatinine level, a sign of kidney issues. The dry food I eat is very low in phosphorus, but the Fancy Feast snacks I have with my fiber in them are a little on the high side so Mom has now gotten me some flavors with lower phosphorus. It was only slightly elevated, so hopefully this will help to reduce my creatinine level. Even though this was all that was found I was still feeling a little punk. Mom heard from a friend that vitamin B complex can help, so she went and got some and is going to start mixing it with my nightly Fancy Feast & fiber snack. Additionally, this morning early I puked a GIANT hairball on Dad, seriously it was the size of a cigar, so possibly this could have been causing me discomfort as well. Last time I had a problem the doctor prescribed Laxatone, maybe I need to take that again, I don't know, but seriously, I am not kidding, this hairball, DUDE! We should have taken a photo and sent it to Ripley's!
Anyhow, really thank you all I really appreciate having all of the love and support of my friends. I am eternally grateful.

Merry Christmas!

Just wanted to take a minute to say Merry Christmas to all of my friends. I am a very lucky boy to have so many friends and to have received so many Christmas cards and gifts. I am very grateful to all of you and appreciate you all so much.

I have taken a few days to think about this and I have decided I still feel the same. I am angry!
While I understand that Michael Vick is a human being, and as such needs to be afforded compassion, like all other beings, I can't help but think he is a selfish, self centered and narcissistic jerkwad!
How can he talk about his love for animals, when he admitted that he was involved in the most grotesque and despicable treatment know, and even killed dogs.
I realize I am just a cat, but I cannot read his letter to Judge Hudson, asking for leniency without throwing up!

I will accept a lot of excuses for a lot of things, but Mom has been to the worst parts of Newport News,VA and they are no worse than any other place, when we become adults we become responsible for our decisions. If that decision is to mistreat companion animals without defenses, it is my belief that you deserve worse than jail.

Spay & Neuter please

What I have to say today is short and sweet: Please spay & neuter you cats! Mom has a job that takes her into different places and today two places where she was had cats running around like crazy! There is no need for this. These cats were living off "the fat of the land, except shortly there will be no more fat on the land if these cats are allowed to keep breeding.
