Arrival Story: At the time our 14 yr. old cat Bootsie was feeling poorly a little kitty showed up and kept returning to sit across from him. Boots was too tired to chase him away so he kept coming back. Once this stray even licked our cat seeming to know he was sick! He got crunchy hand outs from me since Boots wasn't eating (but I put some out for our cat too so he wouldn't be jealous). Everyone else shooed him away because they thought he was just a mooch and didn't know I was putting food out for him. But after Bootsie died Mocha became our pet. We weren't expecting to have another cat so quickly after Bootsie passed on but having Mocha made losing our old kitty easier.
Bio: I learned how to go for walks off-leash, trotting just behind my humans, by following my human sis who was always walking with her boyfriend through the neighborhood. Since the boyfriend and his family were actually her neighbors across the street, I would go on lots of walks with them! That's how I learned how to walk so well. My human sis and the boyfriend who lived across the street are now married! And I know it's all because I went for walks with them!!! I never forgot them even when they moved away from their homes to live with other room mates, nor now that they are married and only can come visit. I will always hold a special place in their hearts and they in mine.
I got a new leash today that is longer than my old one! We hardly ever used the old one except a couple of times. However this new one is for serious training for me to learn how to leash walk. I have always walked with my humans without a leash but in recent months I did something that made my Meowma and Purr-Sis worry about me. I sat down a foot from the sidewalk in the road while we (including the dog) were walking. Then a car came and even though it was not too close to me, saw me, slowed down, and went around. This isn't the first time they've pounced on my tail for doing something dangerous on our walks. But it reinforced for them the idea that if they put a leash on me I would be much safer. They also think our walks would be a lot more enjoyable and waste less time because they wouldn't have to wait for when I finally decide to rejoin them; I would be right at their side. My Purr Sis would be very happy for that to happen!! But I wouldn't be...I like roaming in yards and making the dog and my Humans wait for me!
My human sisters were talking about cats and how they are so special because they only live a short time in comparison to humans. She said that kitties must really be angels which is why they are made out of fluff! Isn't that cute? Now I think I will go put hair all over the guest bed with a few crunchies (cat fd) left in the sheets since I'm an angel.
Oh yea and I got in a cat fight so now I look like a hairless sphynx on the right side of my head by my ear. That's where I was wounded and a scab formed causing the hair loss. If they think they will cover it up with a Christmas or New Years hat they've got another thing coming!
So they got the Siamese-Beagle a beagle...yeah not happy with that. Just because they call me the "Siamese Beagle" because of my tricolor fur and my habit of going on walks does not mean that I WANT a beagle!! NO the opposite is true...NO dogs. Me no like. I will hiss at and stay as far away from that oaf as I can! I am paranoid that that mongrel will come waltzing by so I spend most of my day outside. When I'm inside I like to sleep up high on the dresser in Graysen's misstresse's room. I used to be the baby-always getting walked and sleeping on the master bed. Now the dog gets walked and sleeps on their bed!! Mrrrow-Fffft. But I am not giving up! The day after they got the dog and took him for a walk in the morning they left without me. But I followed and mewed my presence. I still should get the walks...after all my obedience and affection...I'm a cat for crying out loud! Anyway, so the girl took the dog and my mom stayed with me. That was okay I guess...but it won't ever be the same with that dog around! I used to be coddled and helped along the street like a toddler, not to mention being adored for my cuteness. At least I got a walk tonight...the girl took me down the street this evening after she had taken the dog to the park earlier. I hope they continue to walk me even if that dog keeps trying to take MY place because I still want to go!
