Arrival Story:
Brownie was originally just called "the brown cat", since he had originally been an un-neutered stray that my mom was feeding. Because he was a "Tom", he would 'mark his territory' on my parents' car regularly. After about 6 monthes of "the brown cat" alwayds being around, my parents decided to let him in the house (they only had Gypsy, and their dog, Lady at the time), take him to the vet and get him neutered.

Bio:
Brownie was diagnosed with a heart murmur, but lived a very normal and healthy life (you would never know he had anything wrong with him!) of about 15 years. If it was hot out or he went for a long walk, he wuld get a bit out-of-breath though. During Easter weekend in 1997, his heart murmur began to suddenly effect him, and we planned on taking him to the vet that Monday (not thinking it was 'too serious'), but he passed away in the middle of that sunday night, and unfortunatly not in a peaceful way (he was sadly dragging himself around on the floor, gasping for breath). I felt guilty for a such a long time (and still do) that we didn't take him in to an emergency clinic to be euthanized as soon as he started getting really sick, but it would have been about a stressful 40-minute drive for poor Brownie and who knows, that drive might have made it worse for him....
