Arrival Story:
We adopted Buddy I (aka "Bubba") in spring 1997 from our vet, Dr. Fischler at Crossing Bridge Veterinary Clinic in Stittsville. He had been taken in as stray from Carleton Place that an older woman had been feeding.

Bio:
We adopted him after the death of our cat, Brownie. Unfortunately, Buddy was diagnosed with a 'heart murmur' just as Brownie had, but Brownie had lived about 15 yrs, so we were hopeful! Buddy lived a full and healthy life until the fall of 2002 when he began to have trouble breathing. It was barely noticeable at first, but he began to have his mouth open all the time, kind of 'gasping' for breath. We knew how bad Brownie's death had been so we took Buddy to see Dr. Fischler on 12 December 2002, and we all decided that he wasn't going to get any better, so the humane thing to do was to have him euthanized. We took him home to be buried in the 'pet memorial garden' in the backyard, and had a sad little memorial for him while playing his favorite song 'Molly Darling' by Eddy Arnold....Buddy we love you!!
