Arrival Story:
Snowball came to live in his home when he was barely weened. He lives in a two story building that has a bar below and two apartments above. Of course he lives above, not below - LOL! The humans who live above with Snowball are not only neighbours, but good friends. One day, Snowball's mommy thought she heard a stray cat outside crying for help. She looked everywhere, but found nothing. Later that evening when her friend and neighbour came home, she asked him if he had heard a cat, and he informed her that the bartender below had given him a kitten, but he thought that he was going to get rid of it because he was pooping on the floor and not in his litterbox. Of course, she went into his apartment right away to have a look, and immediately found the problem. "Here's your problem!" she said, "You have to separate his food and water from his litterbox. Just think of it this way, we don't eat in our bathrooms, now, do we - LOL! Give Snowball another chance, hey?" Her neighbour agreed. The next day, Snowball's mommy heard him crying his little heart out all by himself in his lonely apartment, so she again approached her home coming friend. "Hey!" she said, "Snowball sounds a bit lonely over there. Can he come over and play with my cats?" Her neighbour said, "Sure! We can even leave our apartment doors open all of the time and let them all have more room to run indoors!" Snowball's mommy was delighted, of course! She promised snowball's human daddy that she would feed, water, and clean all of their litterboxes every day. Snowball's human daddy was delighted, too, because litter box duty made him feel a bit sick - LOL! Snowball, of course, made fast friends with the other six cats, and Snowball's daddy grew to love him more than words could describe, he told mom every day, "There's only two things that I wouldn't trade for the world - My Snowball and my wonderful neighbours!" (Snowball really had two human daddys at the time.) Snowball's dad number one always used to say, "I feel so good knowing that if anything ever happens to me, my Snowball will have a good home." He used to joke with Snowball's mommy and daddy number two, "I know that you guys are married, but Snowball is mine and her kid together!" What a sense of humour, but in a sense, we really were all family! Well, Snowball's human dad number one wasn't in the best of health, and he died in his sleep on the Friday night of 4th of July weekend 2005. :-(( Snowball's mommy was overwhelmed with grief and the worry that someone in daddy number one's family would want to take Snowball away with all of his daddy number one's other belongings. She was preparing to beg for Snowball to stay here with his now brothers and sisters and his mommy and daddy (number two) who all love him so much. We all miss daddy number one so awfully much and the pain would have doubled if we lost Snowball too as you can imagine. Fortunately, daddy number one's family approached mom and dad number two at dad number one's funeral and asked if it was alright for Snowball to stay with us because they didn't know what to do with him! (Maybe that's why dad one always used to say that he felt better knowing that Snowball would be alright if anything happened to him?) We told dad one's family about what he always used to say to us, and we assured his family that Snowball would have a good home with us for the rest of his days! Mr. B would like to dedicate his site, here, to his beloved daddy number one. =^..^=
