Arrival Story:
I noticed Callie at the beach the day before Valentine's Day. When I returned the next day, with temperatures well below freezing, she was still outside. She let me approach her and seemed to be very hungry. Only after I brought her to the vet did we discover she was deaf and blind in one eye. She probably would have died without intervention.
Bio:
Callie was the fourth addition to the family, and the matriarch of the household. All of the other cats respected her. When I rescued Raja, she took her in as her own kitten. Raja was the only cat able to sleep next to her.
My daughter, Zoe, is holding Callie by our Christmas tree - December, 2003.
She passed away quietly on April 6th, 2006 -- she was approximately 15 years old. God bless her.
