I Think I'm in Love

Today my mommy made a great big sacrifice for me. She was going to work on her tax return and decided instead to spruce up our pages for February. What a sweetheart she is! She always says she's not very creative but I think she is the cat's "meow". She lets me cuddle on her lap, feeds me, plays with me and rescues me when I get stuck behind closed doors. She let me sit on her lap while she worked on my page and Sabrina's page. I bet she won't let me sit on her lap while she does her taxes! Catster is much more fun!

Best Birthday Present

I think I already told you that my mommy was going to be out of town for my birthday which was July 11th. Hers was July 10th so we usually celebrate together. Well, she finally came home from California with all sorts of news about a new grandson. I thought she forgot about my birthday altogether. But I was wrong! Last weekend we celebrated our birthdays together at a real party with presents and everything.

But today she gave me my best present. She put a background with lizards on my page. I could chase lizards all day! I am the best lizard catcher on the east coast. If I see a lizard, it is mine. Mommy usually makes me let them go after I play with them for a while. My next two best things are butterflies and frogs. Oh, what a wonderful world this is!

Postpooned Birthday

Today is actually my birthday but meowmy is far away and won't be back for a couple of days. She sent me a message saying "Happy Birthday" and promised to celebrate with me as soon as she gets back. I will be so anxious to see her! Until then, Sabrina and I are going to have fun together.

Tribute to a Friend

Something sad happened earlier this week that dampened my holiday spirit for a while. My kitty cousin, Damon had surgery last week. For a few days he was doing well and we all thought he was going to recover. On Sunday he took a turn for the worse. He was running a fever with chills, dehydrated and vomiting and was in much pain. On Monday he went over the rainbow. He will be greatly missed by his meowmy and his sister, Patches. Damon was not a member of Catster but was a friend of mine. He and his meowmy and sister lived with us for a few months and we had great fun together. I'm hoping he is free of pain now and making new friends over the rainbow.

Time to Exercise!

Today was the dreaded day! Meowmy put me in the carrier and after a short ride in the car we arrived at the vet for my annual checkup.

No sweat, I thought! I'm in my prime and I look fine. Still I cowered in the carrier when I arrived and they had to pull me out.

She's doing fine, the vet said. See! I knew I was in good shape. But then he added the dreaded words, "but she's getting a little heavy". She gained 1.7 lbs. Hey! I thought. I'm not heavy. I'm a growing girl and I have short legs.

He said we could cut out the wet food (horrors!) and switch to a senior food (I'm only 4!) and certainly no more "fish" treats. I have my own idea! I will exercise! Tonight I raced up and down the hall with Sabrina and chased the ball on the stick and down the hall. I only stopped a couple of times for food.

Meowmy cut down our wet food and I went to finish Sabrina's but she ate all of hers. Trouble with this exercise stuff - it makes really makes you hungry!

Don't worry! Be Happy!

I was beginning to get a little worried. Things seem to be falling apart at our house.

First our computer monitor quit working after only 3 months. Now we are using an old one while they order a new one for us. Takes 14 days the man says!

Next we were taking an evening stroll and the front wheel fell off of our stroller. We are grounded until Pet Gear sends us a new wheel.

Meowmy says she is beginning to fall apart too, especially since her 72nd birthday earlier this month. Sabrina and I told her not to worry. We are always on the lookout for any parts she might lose and will bring them to her right away.

My motto: Don't worry! Be happy!

My 4th Birthday

Mommy and I want to thank everyone for the many birthday wishes we received from our catster friends. It made our birthdays purrr-fect!

My favorite gift was from my niece, Rocky Ann. She sent me two Boogie Mats - one for me and one for Sabrina and two tail chasers. I not only love to lay on the mat - I love to hide under it. It is my favorite game besides fetch.

Mommy got headlights for our stroller so we can walk safely at night. It is very hot here in Florida right now so it is hard to walk during the day. Check out the picture on my page. It looks really cool!

She also got a drinking fountain and put it right next to my food for some reason. I am still afraid of it and this morning I refused to eat. Of course, Sabrina gobbled down my share without a wink. Maybe I better try a different strategy. In the meantime, I'm getting thirsty! Can anyone help me out?

So Excited!

TOMORROW is my 4th birthday and TODAY is my meomy's birthday. I am soooo excited! There are all sorts of packages with pretty bows stacked in front of the fireplace. Most of them are for meowmy - but some are for me.

Now here's why I'm sooo excited. She says we can BOTH open our presents TONIGHT. Oh my catness! I will finally find out what's in those boxes. I can hardly wait. I will be trimming my nails all day. It's almost time to PARTY!

My new friend

Oh, what a good time I had this morning! I always have a few lizards who visit my patio door and wave to me. I noticed one had snuck in between the screen and the glass door. When meowmy opened the inside door I sprang into action and grabbed the lizard before she could stop me. I raced into the bathroom and we played and played. The lizard ran and I caught him. Then I'd let him go. He hid and I found him. Over and over again. After about 10 minutes he got tired and didn't want to play any more. I cried and cried and meowmy came to see what was wrong. She said he was tired and wanted to go home now. She picked him up by the tail and took him outside. I sure hope he comes again soon. That was so much fun!

2. I absolutely adore "fish" crackers and will beg endlessly for them.

5. I love to play "hide and seek" under bathroom carpets and will wait till someone says "where's Cleo?" to come out.
