Arrival Story: I was born into a family of barn kitties, and the humans didn't want any more mouths to feed. So one day when I was only four weeks old, the man human put me and my brothers and sisters into a box and took us up to this store for the day. There was some kind of event taking place, which was good because it was our last chance to find homes before the humans took us to a shelter. Any way, things weren't looking so good because no one could see us down in the box where the man human decided to sit. But this lady kept walking by and something about her just made me want to go home with her. So whenever she walked by, I would jump out and wrap myself around her leg. Funny though, she wouldn't even look at me as she pried me off andput me into the box until the 6th time or so. Then she finally scratched me between the ears. So I peeked out of the box and I saw this other lady talking to her and laughing and pointing over at us, but the leg lady just kept shaking her head no. Well, it got late in the day and I didn't have a home. But all of a sudden the laughing lady came over with another box and put me in it, and then put me in the leg lady's car! The leg lady got into her car and I was so excited I started scratching at the box, and the leg lady opens the box, and pulls me out, looking all confused. She picks me up and takes me into the store and starts talking to the laughing lady and saying she can't possibly take me home. The laughing lady talked her into it though, on a "trial basis" or at least to find a home for me. What?!?!?!? But Leg Lady took me home. It was a two hour drive and I curled up on her lap and slept the entire time. When we got to her house the first thing she did was give me a bath with some stinky sudsy stuff. I didn't like that too much, but I sure felt better afterward...not so itchy, and those little black things weren't crawling all over me. Later that night when we went to bed, I curled up on her pillow next to her head. Later on Leg Lady, who had become Mommy, told me that the reason she hadn't wanted to bring me home was because the day before we met, her sweet Oz kitty had died, and Mommy just had a terrible time getting over it. She was sad for a long time, but she told me that I helped her because I was so sweet. She says I was her second heart when her own was broken. And she has repaid me by turning me from a barn kitty into a princess!!

O...M...C!!!! I got a pmail from Samoa this morning to let me know that her mawmee featured me in the CAT IN THE CLOVER BLOG today. There's a picture of me RIGHT THERE, wearing my beautiful new Calvin Collar!! It's like I'm FAMOUS!! EEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I wonder if I should hire a PR team to take the calls and deal with the press when they begin to show up at the house? Oh my, this is a lot to think about and deal with, and I haven't even had my nip tea yet this morning!
**giggles** I just know that Calvin is rolling his eyes at me right now!
OMC! I can't believe I was a DDP yesterday!! Don't worry, I didn't miss it! I just couldn't get online for any length of time to post because mommy was at a meeting and traveling.
But thank you to everyone for cellybrating with me and for me!!
Thank you for the pmails from Miss Hazel Lucy and Buddie and family!!
And thank you for the lovely comments from Samoa and from Chai!
Tate and family: for the spooky bat!

Mercy and family for the tasty PINK shrimpie!!
And Calvin will surely be rolling his eyes when he finds out that Angel McKenna is going to get me right into a fabulous spa to take care of my teary puffies!!!
Now, when mommy got home last night she and I were looking together at my messages and my rosies, and mommy said, "Ele', do you know why you are so sad that Calvin went to the Bridge?"
"Not really mommy, but it makes me so very sad, like it has when some of my other Catster friends have traveled to the Bridge, also."
And mommy said, "Ele' look how all of these DDP messages and rosies have made you smile. They make you happy, right? Just like all of your Catster friends make you so happy."
I nodded my head in agreement at this, because my Catster friends make me VERY happy!
And mommy said, "Well, Ele', if you think about it, Happiness can't exist without Sadness, because the two things actually help to define each other."
I had to think about this for a minute, but then I realized that it made purrfect sense. Whether I liked it or not.
Mommy picked me up and hugged me close. "Ele', our Catster friends are so special to us that if they get sick, or hurt, or are lost, then we worry about them very much. And if the time comes for them to travel to the Bridge, then we feel very, very Sad and our hearts hurt for their pawrents. But that's because we love them, and we know that they love us, and that friendship make us so Happy."
I nodded and purred a little at this.
"So, we're going to feel Sad sometimes, but then the important thing is to remember all of the Happiness and hold that very close to our hearts furever and ever."
I nuzzled in close to mommy and purred really hard and I was Happy that I am mommy's Peanut and not the barn kitten anymore.
OMC, I'm crying, Gimme is crying, Ambro is crying, mommy is crying...
CALVIN flew to the Bridge today. We're so glad that he won't have to battle that mean old cancer any more, but our hearts are just breaking. Calvin's basket must be so jam-packed with hearts. We're sending hearts to his mawmee, too, because we know she needs them right now.
Even though Calvin made fun of me for being a silly girl, I know he really liked me. And he was one of our furst and funnest friends, and we all love him so much.
I'm sure Calvin will understand that if I can ever stop crying I'm going to need a facial to do something about my puffy eyes and face. **holds onto favorite Hello Kitty doll and cries**
