Arrival Story:
Czarina had been returned to the breeder after a few months of ownership. Her owners felt she was too active. The breeder knew I was looking for a cat, as my beloved cat of 19 years had just passed on. She offered her to me, and it has been a "love connection" since she came home. She knows she is the new owner of two very devoted people, and she is VERY sweet. She is active, but she knows she is cute, and demands attention to be paid to her!

Bio:
The Sphynx no longer stands alone as the world's only hairless purebred cat. The recent development of another hairless breed in Russia has been of great interest to cat lovers around the world. These Oriental type of hairless cats were unpopular in Moscow, but became very popular among St. Petersburg breeders. The first Peterbalds were born in January of 1994. Czarina is a Peterbald that is classified as "totally naked". She has not a hair with the exception of a few whiskers that have started to grow in at about 8 months. Her skin is smooth and velvety with a chamois feel, and she is very warm. Being a hairless cat has an advantage for the people she owns, as one of them is asthmatic and allergic to cats. The hairless breeds lend themselves to these illnesses in that it does not trigger allergies or asthma attacks. And one other benefit is that there is not hair on furniture, curtains etc!
