The Life and Times of A Manytoed Kitteh

Manytoes Is Home

I called at 10:30 this morning to check on the
Manytoes situation and he had not wanted to pee.
The doctor had to express his bladder twice.
Well, heck, Manytoes! Do you wanna come home or
not!? So, I was told to give him a little more
time and call back at 3:00. Okaaaaay...so I
called back and he was ready to come home. He
had decided to PEE! Good! Now I can bring him
home!
We get there and the vet said Manytoes chose not
to pee in the cat litter in the cage, but on the
cage floor...thus, all over his back end and feet!
Ooooo, stubborn cat.
Paid the bill...deja vu...and brought his stinky
(literally!) butt home...finally!
Pee You!!
Got home and I had to give half of his body (the
rear part) a bath, dried him off a bit and put
him in the back room by himself so he can rest
and not be bothered by any dog or cat. Oh, and
he peed in the litter box as soon as I put him
in there!
He sure is happy to be home and I can tell he
feels so much better...he's even being super,
super nice (not that he's mean-he's not).
So now he has to eat a special diet. Does anyone
know of a good over the counter cat food for
urinary health for the others? Because I know
he'll get into whatever the other kitties are
eating from time to time and I rather be safe
than sorry about him and food.

Thanks again, everyone, for your thoughts and
prayers for Manytoes.
We love and appreciate you all!

~Esther~

P.S. Don't tell Manytoes I told you all about
the 'stinky pee accident'! Don't want to
embarrass him in front of his pals!! MOL!

I'm glad he is home too, I'll send you an invite to a group I think you'll find very handy. There's some pawsome kitty's there that know lots about your problem.

Oh wow, Manytoes - we've been out of the loop for a month now and didn't hear about this till late last night. Bummer, man! But so glad you're able to pee again - that's one of those major "gotta do" things! IAMS has got special formula catfoods and isn't particularly expensive, so your Mama could feed everyone else with it without worrying about when you steal a bite. :) But the forum Mr.D is going to send you the link to will probably give your Mama some other ideas about that. High five, uh...whatever, bro!

Great that Manytoes came home...and peed!
Hope you can find an appropriate food, but we ourselves o not know of any that would work.

Stay well!

Hey, Manytoes, yous and mees in the same boat. I went through this a couple weeks ago. Got put on this Royal Canin special food and mom has to stand guard sos I don't eat the other cats' food. She also got this cool water fountain thingie so I drink more water (but Miranda likes to play it is like her little swimmin' pool). Drink lots and lots a water. An' tell ma to keep that litter squeeky clean. Mom sneaks me a little Friskies Special Diet wet food occasionally, but it's important to stay with the special stuff (even though it's a little pricey).

So glad you are home Manytoes.....if you would like a link to the types of food for felines to help prevent UTI in future, try this link......I feed my cat Wellness wet food, no grains and tons of moisture which the dry foods lack... because Harley loves crunchies I supplement with Before Grains Chicken and I also run warm water over her wet food just to make sure she gets enough moisture as cats are known for not drinking a lot..

Hello!
I'm so sorry I didn't know about you having such problems! I have had a lot of issues with UTIs, etc. My mom takes liquid cranberry capsules and puts a few drops in my food and stirs it up. I like it really. But she hasn't been doing that since she found Pro Plan adult cat food for urinary health. It's got all the stuff to keep my plumbing working right plus, it's tasty so I eat it! Here's the URL to a page showing all kinds of UTI foods. Not that you should buy here, it's just nice to be able to see them all and compare.

http://www.nextag.com/urinary-tract-cat-food/s tores-html

Drinks LOTS of water, Manytoes, and ask mom to leave the bathroom faucet on the "raindrop" setting so you can snap them up whenever you're thirsty. My mom waters down some canned food (also available in UTI formula), which I drink like soup! I take in more liquids that way. Moms are sneaky, but cool. :)

Well, I hope you feel better right away. I'm here to lend a helping paw whenever you need it. I know how it is, I been there!

Soft nosebumps and snuggles,
Spooky

Hi Spooky!

When I ended up 'plugged up' my mom knew she had to
change the food for all of us so she bought Pro Plan
for urinary health a couple of times, but now we all
eat Purina One Special Care Urinary Health Formula.
My mom has been watering down our food. It ends up
looking like soup, too, but we like it that way!
Mom buys canned Friskies Special Diet that 'Helps
maintain urinary tract health by reducing urinary pH-
Low magnesium'.
And yes, I am feeling better. I'm back to my old
self! We hope I never go through that again!
Thanks for the comment, Spooky...

and thanks to ALL who left comments. I appreciate
it!

Oh No! Manytoes I didn't know you were sick! I'm glad you are better now that you are home. There is no place like home, to us kitties.

I have a little secret. I pee in the cat carrier too! ALL the time I'm put in there (and sometimes on the floor before I GET in there)!

At least you were able to go home with what you left with. When I had blockage, I lost something. Or rather, they took it off. Now, when the human brings me back to see the butcher, I express myself over as much of his stuff as I can. Fiend. First my claws, then that.

Oh Max! Bummer, dood!
But it is pretty cool that you
express yourself on the fiend!
MOL!

Hi Tabatha! I guess I didn't see
your comment. Sorry.
I totally agree, there's no place
like home.
Some of them Ruby Slippers would
of come in handy back then. Wonder
where I can get me some?

I don't know where either Manytoes! I guess the best we can do is get some red sparkly nail covers they sell these days!
