How embarrassing!

I'm Cat of the Day!!! Way cool - thanks Catster! I'm so embarrassed though. I haven't been keeping up my diary or pictures. It isn't my fault though. My Mom keeps hogging the computer. I've asked her to get me one of those fancy ipad things and she refuses. She says if she doesn't have one I certainly can't. That seems unreasonable to me. I'm honored to be Cat of the Day (although I have to say it's certainly well deserved) and I'll try and live up to my responsibilities. I plan to rest a lot today so I'll be in good shape. My sister says she is way prettier than me and I'm lazy. Ha what does she know!

I'm so Embarrassed!

I've been nagging my Mom to do an entry for me. It's very hard for me to type on these little keys so I dictate to her. Well she not only hasn't done the entry she just tonight posted new pictures from my birthday last year! I mean it's June and August will be another birthday. She's way, way, way behind. I can't think of any excuse other than I guess she's just a lazy human being.

To be honest not much has been happening. I'm on Twitter now & she has to do those tweetie things for me. It's kind of fun. If anyone wants to follow me my name is Pippintex. My sister is a dork and didn't want to be on Twitter. She doesn't even like this diary thing. She's real dopey.

Back Again!

My Mom has been so lazy! I've been trying to get her to type my diary entry for the longest time but she kept saying she was busy. She started her own blogs and now keeps forgetting about ours! Finally, finally, today she said, "oh I didn't realize how long it has been. Pippin you better do an entry." Um, duh. I've been saying this all along.

Actually not a lot has happened since I last wrote. We are all settled into our new house and I really like it. We get to go outside on the patio sometimes and there are lots of great smells here. We have windows to sit in and lots of places to hide. Mellifera is as strange as ever and keeps hissing at me but I just ignore her most of the time.

My Mom went away for 2 weeks last December and I was a little worried she wouldn't come back even though she promised she would. She came back though and I was really happy to see her. She went away again a couple of weeks ago but now I'm used to it so it didn't bother me much. Besides Jill & John are always here so I'm happy as long as I get my food and lots of love and attention.

Really not much else to say. A cat's life just goes on pretty much the same: eat, sleep, scratch, sleep, groom, sleep, use litter box, sleep. You know how it goes.

Moving Update

This has been a very busy few weeks! I didn't realize they were going to expect me to do so much of the work. All day long I'm moving boxes, unpacking things, putting stuff away. I'm telling you, if they move again they better get somebody else to help! So this isn't a bad place. I'm kind of liking it here. There are lots of places to hide so when Mom is looking for me it takes her even longer. That is a lot of fun because usually she gives up and gets out a treat to lure me out. There are some cool windows to look out & I've seen some birds I'd like to make friends with. Anyway that is what I tell Mom I want to do with them (for an old person she is pretty gullible). My bedroom seems pretty much the same. Same bed that Mom keeps saying is hers, same books and papers. Mellifera is still upset and wants to go back to the old place. I'm ok with her going back but no one seems inclined to take her away. Oh well. I think that I like this house better though. Now that they aren't making me move boxes it is pretty cool!

Moving

Wow we are going to move to a new house! Mom said that it will be fun and we'll have a lot more room to run around and explore. We get a new cat tree when we move and some sort of outside thing so we can go out & be safe. I'm not clear on exactly what moving entails. Mom has a bunch of boxes & she is packing stuff in them. I'm thinking she expects us to help but that would interfere with my nap time. They are talking about moving furniture and I am definitely sure that I can't do that. I cuddled up with Mom yesterday & I think she understood that I'm nervous about this. She said she knows that cats don't like change & she was sorry that things would be disturbed for awhile. As soon as possible everything will settle down & we can start enjoying our new house. I guess it is kind of exciting - I like sniffing around & finding hidden places to curl up & nap. I'm hoping the new house has a lot of those!

BIRTHDAY!

We had a birthday on Wednesday (8/22) - me & my sister are now 3 years old! Pretty cool huh? It was a pretty exciting day. Mom kept taking pictures of us and giving us hugs & kisses & saying Happy Birthday. I wanted presents early but she said we had to wait. Boy it sure was hard to wait! FINALLY, Mom brought out a bag & said it had our presents in it. Mellifera & I sniffed and batted at it & finally got something out. We got a squeaky ladybug, some feather balls (I love feathers!), a new placemat and some stuff to plant that will grow grass for us. We also got some square box thing that has holes in it & toys inside. I think Mom wants us to get the toys out but it is kind of boring. The most exciting thing of all was the bag that the presents were in. We played with that a lot! Mom also cooked some chicken for us but Mellifera didn't want hers so I got it. I thought that was it but then Mom brought out a cake and it had a 3 candle on it. Then Mom & Jill & John sang Happy Birthday to us. I didn't want any cake because I was full from chicken & kind of tired. It was a pretty nice birthday - I think I like birthdays because I like getting presents & I especially like getting all those hugs & kisses from Mom! We're going to put some party pictures up so people can see what a great time we had!

Just the Usual

Not much to report on today. Just thought I'd do an entry since Mellifera did - I don't want her to get ahead of me! She is really dorky about the chair thing. The fact is that it is MY chair and I just let them use it. Sometimes I want to sit there and believe me, they all move out of the way pretty fast then! What else? I was outside on the patio yesterday sniffing around. I think I smelled a mouse but it was pretty faint. I'll have to keep checking. Today looks like a nice day, there are a lot of good smells in the air. Right now I'm laying in my cushiony bed and dictating this to Mom. I can actually type but it is hard on my claws so I have her do it for me. Wednesday is my birthday (oh yeah & Mellifera's). Actually Mellifera is older than me, she was born about 6 hours before me. We will be 3 years old! Mom said a present is coming in the mail for us. I'm pretty excited about that! She also said we get a special dinner and a cake. I hope she isn't going to get all dorky like last year and sing Happy Birthday & give us bunches of kisses. I do like the kisses but she is sure an awful singer!

Camping, furniture and more

Wow, we have had such a busy few days. I'm pretty worn out. First we got 2 new couches. It was kind of upsetting because people were coming into our house and moving things around - they took away my old couches and that upset me a little. But these new ones are pretty nice. I guess Mom got 2 so there would be one for me and one for Mellifera. That was pretty thoughtful of her. Anyway now that the couches are settled and we've examined them and given them a few scratches, I think it is going to be ok. We also got a tent! This is pretty cool, although a little dorky. If you look at my pictures you'll see that it has ears and a tail. . . Mom thought it was soooo cute but I'm a little embarrassed to be seen in it. But it sure is a lot of fun to play in! I keep chasing Mellifera out - she says that Mom got it for both of us but I'm pretty sure it is just mine. (Yeah, I know Mom did say that but I still don't want to share.) So aside from the tent & furniture we also had some excitement because some guy came in our apartment & then crawled under the building. I didn't like that he came in but when Mom said he was going under the building I thought that was kind of interesting. I wanted to go out & help him but Mom wouldn't let me. Mom said he was looking for termites. I don't know what termites are but they sound like something I might want to chase. Speaking of chasing, I keep hearing little mouse noises. I'm pretty sure I know where he is hiding and I'm keeping a good watch. If one little whisker peeps out I'll have him!

Alien Abduction

Oh my goodness! You would not believe the horrible thing that my Mom did to me! It all started because I threw up a couple of times. She got all excited and worried and kept following me around asking me if I was ok. I purred yes, I was fine a number of times but she didn't seem to feel better about it. Finally she said if I threw up again she was going to take me to the vet. I thought she said jet and those are Jill's initials so I figured she was going to make me listen to Jill talk for a long time (which is really boring, but something I can handle). So I threw up again. Now bear in mind that I've been doing this since I was a kitten. Sometimes I just eat to fast and out it pops! Mom really should be used to it but she says all the pet food issues have unsettled her. So I innocently throw up and she drags me into Mellifera's cat carrier - which is PINK! - and takes me off to the doctor. It was horrible. First the vet poked me and looked in my mouth and then took me back and x-rayed me. I thought I had fallen into the hands of aliens! They thought my x-ray looked a little funny so I had to go back the next day and have another one and they stuck a needle in me also and drained my blood. Oh it was so terrible. I was alone in that office without my Mom for 5 hours! The vet people were nice enough but they weren't Mom and I really wanted to go home. Finally they said that everything looked good and apparently I had eaten something that disagreed with me. They put me back in the carrier (the pink one) and brought me out and gave me to my Mom. Oh I was so happy and so was Mom! She was smiling and talking to me and giving me kisses and saying she was so glad I was home and everything was ok. I think I've pretty well recovered from my ordeal and Mom isn't kissing me every 2 minutes now but once in a while I have a flashback and have to go hide under the couch in case Mom decides to cart me off again. Believe me I'm going to think twice before I throw up again!!

Sulk, Sulk, Sulk . . .

So my sister is Cat of the Day. Big deal. Do I care? No way. She's walking around with her nose in the air thinking she is such hot stuff. Mom is singing her songs and hugging her and acting like it is some big deal. Phooey. I'm much cuter than she is and have a whole lot better personality and I'm taller & longer and, well you get the idea. I'm just better all around! Okay maybe I'm feeling a little neglected. I was in a calendar once & I have to admit that Mellifera was really nice about it and very happy for me. I guess I can be happy for her. She is a pretty cat and has a very sweet personality (actually a little sweeter than me but I'm a tough guy cat). Fine, I'll quit sulking but I refuse to give her a kiss!
