Arrival Story:
Around May 2004, my neighbors and I kept seeing Sinatra (then operating under the not-as-suitable name Nicky) hanging around outside off and on, day and night. After many weeks of seeing him come and go, we figured out that he belonged to a guy on the first floor. I eventually approached him and asked about Nicky / Sintra. Nicky / Sinatra had belonged to the guy's aunt, but she had recently passed away, and he had taken Nicky / Sinatra in. However, he was not inclined to keep him, and had in fact put up postings to give him away / sell him (for a moderate price). I offered a slightly lower price, arranged to take Sinatra to the vet, and then Sinatra became my housemate. He is my first pet, so he is a big deal for me. But I'm at least his 3rd guardian, so it's old hat for him.

Since Sinatra was outside on and off for at least a month before we joined forces, it took some time for him to get used to being indoors all the time. But he seems to be ok with it now. While he usually will have a keen interest in the door when it is opened and will sometimes make a break for it, the last time he managed to get out, he seemed quite comfortable in coming back inside all on his own!
