Arrival Story:
Polly is Maine Coon and looks like she has been wading in a cream stream. She has white feet and a white belly and chest, but her back and sides are Tortoiseshell (black and red). Polly was originally retrieved from the pound by Will's 5 year-old niece, Kaidin, who treated Polly like a baby doll. Polly was perfectly happy being treated like that- she'd just loll around in Kaidin's arms and her purring would drown out the TV. Unfortunately, Kaidin's father would become furious whenever Polly would soil something and would apparently scream and beat Polly. Polly would be so scared that she'd poop on the furniture. Will and I got a call on late night from Will's sister who said "what another cat? Either I'm bringing Polly over to your apartment tonight or Kaidin's dad will take her out to the arroyo and shoot her."

So we got Polly. After Luna passed away a couple of months before, we had planned on getting another cat, but just had not gotten around to it. I think we were subconsciously waiting for Polly. Polly loved me, but was very, very shy around Will at first. We think that her abusive previous home caused her to be very nervous around men. We're delighted to provide her with a loving, non-abusive Forever Home. We're working on gently overcoming her habit of marking human beds.
