Pumpkin Eater!

We finally found the right kind of canned pumpkin at Target! Mawmee added a little bit to my Fancy Feast last night and I ate it all up. They were also able to give me more fluids last night using the Clothespin Mohawk trick!

This morning is the first morning in awhile where I didn't throw up a hairball. I did leave a few tiny poopie pieces on the floor in the cat room.

The other problem I'm having right now is hair loss behind my ears. You can see all the way to my skin! It appears to be another problem with dehydration and high phosphorus levels.

Thank you for all the suggestions, purrs, and rosettes!

That is great your Mawmee found your pumpkin for you, Violet and that you ate it!

On Tanya's site she has a great chart of all different regular canned foods and what their phosphorus levels are. It is listed from lowest % of phos to highest % so your Mommy could check which fancy feast flavors are lower. Lower phos probably will help make you feel better too. It is interesting the difference between flavors and brands. Of course the most important thing is for you to eat.

Great that the Mohawk is working fur you! I hope it is a purple Mohawk!

Oh Violet that is good news, we find Tanya's site very helpful too. So glad you like your new pumpkin! Continued purrs are being sent your way! We also remember Sammie losing his fur behind his ears, but it grew back gradually.

Hey, KiKi - what did your Mommy think was the cause of Sammie's fur loss behind the ears?

Meowmy thinks you could make your own if need be, by cooking a whole squash and then pureeing it in a blender, sending it through a sieve befur say, freezing it in ice cube trays for future reference.

Hi Violet;
At first we thought Sam's fur loss was related to dehydration, because his phosphorus levels were within the normal range, he was really balding behind the ears, but it eventually came back, have you tried lactulose for constipation? Sam had constipation bad and had to have the dreaded Enemas. We are really purring for you Violet and hope the pumpkin/squash & fluids help & make you comfortable.

Organic pumpkin is best.
Maybe Prozyme will help?
