My Eye Twin Journeyed to the Bridge

November 17th 2008 6:36 pm   [link to this entry]

I'm very sad tonight because I found out that my pal, Buddy made his journey to the Rainbow Bridge. Buddy fell in an accident and hurt his back and spine.

Buddy is in the Beautiful Cat Eyes group with me. Awhile ago, we had a contest in that group to find a member who was your eye twin. Buddy was my eye twin because we both have pawsome green eyes.

I'm purring tonight for his Mommy, his brother, Friday, and his sister, Bijou. I know they will miss him very much.

Rest in peace, sweet, Buddy . . . . . . . . . . .

I'm the World's Coolest at Etsy!

November 15th 2008 7:53 pm   [link to this entry]

My pal, Luke, had his Mommy send an email to my Mawmee telling her that I'm famous over at Etsy!

I already knew that I was on Mawmee's shop banner, but now I'm becoming more famous.

That's because I'm a model at this lady's shop!

We bought that tie from her. Oh my cats, look at her main shop page! I'm a featured item!

Dang, we need to get her to change the name of her shop to Cat & Dog Ties!

Newman has been chasing me and somehow I hurt my front paw, and I've been limping. I can't wait until Tuesday because he will be gone all day getting his grapes removed!

Dang!

November 14th 2008 2:58 pm   [link to this entry]

Man, I didn't make the finals of the World's Coolest Contest! You know what that means, don't you?

I'll have to have more pictures taken of me!

And I'll have to stick around for another year to enter next year's contest!

And I'll have to continue to look cute for another year!

Congratulations to my brothers, Newman and Gleek, for making it to the finals. We are very excited for them. I guess that means Newman is a good luck charm since we've never been in the finals before he came along!

Dang, I hope he doesn't start throwing his weight around - all 4 pounds of it! I'm sure he will do a little bragging in front of Samoa which could be a dangerous thing to do!

Good luck to all our friends who made it to the finals! It is so fun to look through the list and see so many cats we know and love!

The Squeaky Wheel Gets The Oly!

November 13th 2008 1:27 pm   [link to this entry]

Today, my Pal of the Week is celebrating her birthday! Happy 8th birthday to Oly!

Oly is your typical girl - she loves to talk, and yap, and talk and yap! Oh my gosh, she must be a tomboy because Oly likes to stalk the dog occasionally!

Oly reminds me of Sugar and Samoa all rolled into one. She is a really colorful cat.

All the time I've know Oly, I was prounouncing her name in my head like Oil-y - you know, somebody that hasn't washed their hair in a long time.

But, really her name is pronounced Oh-Lee. She was named after some complicated medical machine. Dang, her family must be doctors or something. We get named after cartoon characters and food and movie stars.

I just realized that Oly has 7 cats in her family and one dog - just like us! How cool!

She also has a boyfriend named Ambrogino. Ambro is one of my friends too, even though he didn't realize he is in a cougar relationship since Oly is 8 and he is only 6.

I think you could give Oly a nice present today by stopping by and voting for her picture in the World's Coolest Contest.

Hope you're having a super duper birthday, Oh-Lee, and thanks for being my Pal of the Week . . . . . . . .

Tag, I'm It!

November 11th 2008 8:14 pm   [link to this entry]

My friend, Phanto, tagged me, so here is the scoop on me!

1. How many toes do you have?

Just my back ones, someone took my front ones!

2. Is you married?
I'm not allowed to date until I'm 21!

3. Do you have short, medium or long hair?
I think they're short, but when you get a bunch of them together in the bottom of my bed, they are probably long!

4. Do you like to dress up?
Have you seen my pictures?

5. Who has the stinkest gas in your house?
The New guy in town!

6. How many toys do you have?
6,438

7. Is your tail straight, kinked, curly, fat, thin, or just right?

Straight - even though Phoebe thinks I'm gay!

8. Have you ever killed a real mousie?
Remember, I don't have front toes!

9. Are you beautiful, handsome or ugly?
Have you seen my eyes?

10. Are you King of the house? Queen of the house? or the Servant?
Have you seen the title of my diary? - Calvin in Charge!

What a Ham!

November 7th 2008 5:26 pm   [link to this entry]

Do you know Edgar? He is my Pal of the Week, and he is A-OK! OK, as in Oklahoma - where he lives!

Edgar has a real interesting story on how he came to live with his forever family.

His Mommy and Daddy wanted a new kitten after their other cat went to the rainbow bridge. The shelter finally had a kitten but when they went to check out the kitten, somebody else was adopting it. The lady at the shelter said some kittens and their mother were found in a taped box in the parking lot. They went to see the kittens - there were four gray tabby girls, and one orange boy.

They picked out one of the gray tabby girls, and as they were about to leave, Edgar's Mommy said, oh, give me the little orange boy too!

OMC - was Edgar ever lucky that he stood out with that orange fur of his! So, that is how Emily and Edgar got to their new home. I love that story!

Another very cool thing is that Edgar's Daddy feeds a squirrel that is in their backyard. Dang, wouldn't that be cool if the squirrel came to live in the house too? Edgar and Emily could have a full time playmate - MOL!

The reason I said what a ham in my diary title is because Edgar loves to eat - something we have in common! And Edgar loves ham! I'll bet he drinks a lot of water after eating ham - it makes you thirsty.

Edgar and his sister are very kind cats. They always take time to read our diaries, and to purr for Spunky and any of us when we have a problem. That is the kind of friend to have in this world!

Thanks for being my Pal of the Week, Edgar!

I'm participating - How about you?

November 6th 2008 11:37 am   [link to this entry]

I heard the month of November is sometimes called No Shave November.

You're not supposed to shave the entire month so that you can grow your hair and look more manly.

I think I'll give it a try. Poor Spunky can't participate because his arm was shaved again this week. I guess he will have to find some other cause to participate in.

By the beginning of December, I should be looking a whole lot more manly than I already do.

I think December should be called More Meals Month. Who do I write to get that done?

Starting Off on a High Note!

November 1st 2008 1:28 pm   [link to this entry]

Wowza, if today is any indication, November is gonna be pretty pawsome.

First, I'm a diary pick - how cool! Then, I find out that we all got 3rd place in the Funniest Costume category of Skeezix's Halloween Costume Contest!

And, then my Squillion entry in the contest won 3rd place too! The Squillion Category in the contest was sponsored by Jeter Harris!

Thanks to all my friends who honored me today with a bunch of rosettes, special gifts, and pmails for being a diary pick! I'm glad I stayed up late last night getting my Thanksgiving page ready so you all could see it.

My friend Luna pmailed me at 11:30 last night and wanted to know why I was already doing Thanksgiving and Halloween wasn't over yet.

I guess Luna has no idea how long it takes to get all eight of us photographed and pick out all our page stuff! Dang, we better get our butts in gear for Christmas because it will be here before you know it!

Happy November . . . . . . .

The Dude's Birthday!

October 30th 2008 6:52 am   [link to this entry]

Today is my Pal of the Week's 4th birthday - Happy Birthday, Sawyer, dude!

Sawyer has one thing on his mind most of the time - food! He and I think alike! And from looking at his hefty 20 pound frame, I don't think he has missed too many meals - MOL! If living at his house is anything like living at my house, you have to fight off the others in order to get your food. He lives with five siblings!

Sawyer is a dude kind of guy. He says dude a lot and that is why I think he is cool. He is also a big New York Yankees fan which I don't understand because he lives in Tennessee. He probably already knows that Jeter and Gordy are big NY fans too.

He has a girlfriend named Mercy. In Tennesseee, you're allowed to date young. Mercy would be considered a cougar because she is way older than Sawyer. I just figured out why Sawyer and Mercy are purrfect for each other. They both have the same white flame of love on their foreheads.

I hope you have a pawsome birthday, dude! Be sure to stop by his all-day party!

Thanks for being my Pal of the Week . . . . . . .

Joe the Plumber

October 29th 2008 6:11 pm   [link to this entry]

Who cares what either of those guys running for President are gonna do for Joe the Plumber . . . . . . . . what about Calvin the Cat?

What exactly are either one of them gonna do for the average cat? I should probably talk to Rocky Ann. She is the pawlitical savvy cat around here.

Are we gonna get more nap time?

What about another meal in the day?

And who can guarantee that I'll always have a clean litterbox?

Most importantly - who is gonna ban clothing on cats?

When I get answers to those questions, I'll decide who I'm voting for. In the meantime, I'll be sitting in front of the refrigerator waiting for that next meal . . . . . . . . .

We're Funny!

October 24th 2008 1:52 pm   [link to this entry]

Well, at least Skeezix thinks I'm funny! He put me on the Cat Blog today! He is showing some of the funny faces entered in the World's Coolest Contest! I'm laffin and laffin at my pal Jeter because he has a funny face too! And so does Boogers!

I think my Pal of the Week, Mago is funny too. I laugh when I read his diary because he has an accent, and you can hear his accent when you read it.

Mago was found on a golf course when he was little. He lived for a couple of years in a shelter and was lucky to find his new forever home with Lancelot and their doggie, Enigma.

Mago has one of those names that I have trouble pronouncing. Sort of like Ele' - I can't pronounce her name either.

Is it Mah - go?

Is it May - go?

Is it Maa - go?

Is it Maaaa- go?

I have no idea! And what does his name mean, anyway? Is it Spanish for something because he lives in Spain? Does it mean shut up because that is what his Dad calls him in the morning!

I do know that he is the purrfect pal for Halloween because he is all black! Except when he helps his Mommy get dressed in the morning. Then he ends up looking like a bambi deer - MOL!

Ohhhh, guess what? If you watch his cool video, you can hear his Mommy call his name! Now, I know how to pronounce Mago! His video is funny too!

Thanks for being my Halloween Pal of the Week, Mago! And congratulations on being a diary pick today . . . . . . . . . .

Happy Birthday Scootie Patootie!

October 23rd 2008 8:04 am   [link to this entry]

Today is Scooter's birthday! It's not any ole' birthday - it is her 20th Birthday!

Wowza - 20 years old!

I sure hope I make it to my 20th birthday. I think I know what she will be doing today.

Napping in the sun

Eating baby food

Napping in the sun

Ice cream and cake

Napping in the sun

I hope your day is super duper - just like you, Scootie Patootie! We all love you, and you inspire us!

Catster isn't Catster without the Scooter! I think her Mom did a pawsome job on her special birthday page too.

One more year, and she'll be able to date . . . . . . . .

A - O - K

October 22nd 2008 5:54 pm   [link to this entry]

One of my pals wondered why I haven't been writing much in my diary lately.

It's because I've been in hiding.

From you-know-who.

Because he likes to jump on my back or jump from the back of the sofa onto my sleeping body.

I'm too old for him.

But I do like it when he wakes Mawmee up at 6:00 in the morning for breakfast!

She's British!

October 17th 2008 8:33 pm   [link to this entry]

My Pal of the Week is Chelsea Louise - or CL as I like to call her! She probably has a British accent because she lives in England!

Chelsea has quite a story and she has been doing a lot of writing this week telling us all about how she came to live in her forever home! Gosh, it seems like a lot of us on Catster had a rough start in life, but her life now is pretty cool!

Chelsea just got a new tranquility blanket from Hazel Lucy, and it is pink because she is a girl, and girls love pink. She looks really pretty sitting on the blanket. I think it is a purrfect blanket for October since it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Chelsea and I have a few things in common! We both know how to tell time, and we both like taking naps! CL is also entered in the World's Coolest Contest, so please stop by and vote for her cute pictures!

Chelsea is in Spunky's We're One-derful group because she can't see too good with her eyes. That is part of her rough start in life, but it doesn't stop her from doing what she wants to do! I think she is very brave.

And, boy, looking over Chelsea's page, you can tell she is a girl - she doesn't tell us how much she weighs - MOL!

Thanks for being my Pal of the Week, Chelsea Louise . . . . .

OBEET!

October 10th 2008 8:44 pm   [link to this entry]

Can you figure out what this diary title is all about? I'll give you a hint:

Rootin', tootin' cowcat!

It's my Pal of the Week - Teebo! His backwards name is Obeet! My backwards name is Nivlac!

Obeet is one cool snugglemonster! He is like a tiger cat and a white cat all rolled into one!

Obeet is also a Tiki fan, so you know he is super cool! He and his sister, Callie, just had their birthdays last week. Their parents got them a new drinking fountain. Obeet is still pretty young - only 6 years old. He has a long Tiki life ahead of him!

He is allowed to go outside when he wears his red harness. Red is definitely his signature color!

Obeet has a couple of pictures entered in the World's Coolest Contest, so be sure to stop by and give him a 5 paw vote!

The other two best things that Obeet and Nivlac have in common:

1. We both like to knead!

2. We both have friend girls but no girlfriends! We love the single life even though the girls are always chasing after us because we're cute.

Thanks, Teebo Obeet, for being my Pal of the Week . . . . . . .

Wacky Boy!

October 6th 2008 7:11 pm   [link to this entry]

I think Newman is missing a few screws in his head! Tonight Gleek and I were on the sofa watching Dancing with the Stars with Mawmee.

He ran from the kitchen into the living room really, really fast. When he got to the wall, he tried to climb it!

Then later when I was sleeping on the sofa, he got on the back of the sofa and jumped off - landing right on my head! Dang, that is no way to wake up.

He liked it so much, he did it again! Then he took a nap, and after his nap he came and got next to me. I bopped him on the head for doing those aerial manuevers!

I'm gonna have to sleep with a helmet on . . . . . . . .

I Like Newman!

September 29th 2008 2:05 pm   [link to this entry]

I hope you don't think I'm talking about this squirt! The only thing he is good for is reminding me when it's time to eat!

I'm talking about Paul Newman's organic turkey canned cat food! Mawmee thinks I'm looking too skinny, and that stupid kidney food is yuck.

So, when she was in Walmart over the weekend, she walked by the cat food and saw Paul Newman's cans. She didn't know he made canned cat food. It was probably the last thing he said before he died last week . . . . . . take care of the cats . . . . . . make organic food for them!

She bought a couple of cans to see if we would like them. They are bigger cans than Fancy Feast which is what the others eat. So, she needs to do the math and figure out which is more expensive.

But anyway, when this Newman came to get me for dinner, I got to try the new organic turkey.

Dang, that is some good stuff! Now, don't get me wrong, it's not Tiki goodness, but it comes a close second. I licked the bowl clean!

Thank you, Mr. Paul Newman, for thinking of the cats before you died . . . . . . . . . .

My Pretty Pal

September 28th 2008 9:56 am   [link to this entry]

I am sad today that my friend, and my Pal of the Week, Catsy has made her journey to the bridge.

Catsy was sweet 16, and sweet is the best word to describe her. She had a really rough life until she found her forever home with her Mommy, Daddy, Mouse, and Kiki. But, they took extra great care of her and got her all pretty and healthy, and she was having a pawsome life.

But then her kidneys failed. That is what happens to a lot of us Olde Furts. She made her journey to the bridge today, and she is making that rainbow shine so beautiful. We all cried when we found out that she was an angel. Some kitties just touch your heart, and Catsy was one of those kind souls.

Because she had lived on the streets for such a long time, Catsy wasn't really crazy about being touched very much. But the most pawsome thing happened this past week.

She really needed a haircut because her hair had gotten all unruly - and you know how girls are about their hair being messed up! So, she went to the vet and got a nice, short, very hip haircut - sort of like Demi Moore did, but only better!

And guess what happened when she got rid of all that hair? She started letting her Mommy and Daddy pet her, and brush her, and give her more loving than she had ever allowed in the past.

And there is only one word, well, actually three words that explain it - Gift from God! God knew that Catsy shouldn't go to the bridge without storing up all that extra love from her Mommy and Daddy. So, he arranged for that haircut to get her ready. God is the big barber in the sky in case you didn't know that!

So, Catsy, thank you for being my Pal of the Week, and thank you for being such a very special kitty. We will purr for your family, and we know that one day you will be with them again. Rest in peace . . . . . .

A D to the D to the P!

September 27th 2008 10:58 am   [link to this entry]

Woo hoo - I'm a DDP today! Thanks Diary Gal! I think I'll celebrate by taking a long nap.

So far, the only good thing about having Newman here is the eating schedule. He eats several times a day which works out pretty purrfect for me too!

I'm not eating my kidney food very good, and Mawmee said I need to eat something, so she is giving me some Fancy Feast. Maybe I'll even get a little Tiki for being a diary pick today!

Did you see what Newman did yesterday? He ran up to me and grabbed me by the neck. Dang, I thought he was going to jump on my back. He has a future in wrestling . . . . . . . . . .

Maybe You've Noticed

September 24th 2008 2:09 pm   [link to this entry]

Did you see that Newman has been my Pal of the Week last week and this week?

That's because I haven't quite decided if I really want him as a pal, so it is taking me a few weeks to figure it out.

MOL . . . . . . . . .

Tale of My Tail!

September 23rd 2008 1:19 pm   [link to this entry]

My tail is not a playtoy! Somecat in this house thinks it is. I was forced to haul off and give him a right hook to the cheek yesterday when he wouldn't leave my tail alone! I knew it wouldn't hurt him because I don't have claws.

What a pest . . . . . . . . .

Shiver Me Timbers!

September 19th 2008 8:46 am   [link to this entry]

Navigatin' Barney Jones here - I'm reportin' on tha mangy tyrant who has taken over our ship!

He is a wee lad, and is drivin' us all to tha brink of walkin' the plank! He won't stay in tha bathroom. He grabs all tha tails. He has learned how to climb the masts.

The Lady Captain is tryin' to protect us from the pillager! I say, give him grog and send 'em to bed!

And the worst thing ever? The buccaneer followed me to tha head and tried to get in with me! A pirate can't even pee in private on tha ship!

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr . . . . . . . . . .

Steppin' Up!

September 18th 2008 1:32 pm   [link to this entry]

Guess where Newman likes to do some chillaxin? On the top step of my steps that go up to the cedar chest. I use those steps when I want to get in the big bed with Mawmee and Daddy.

He better not think he is taking over my role as the one in charge! And he better stay out of the Tiki . . . . . . . . .

I'm a Famous Pirate!

September 18th 2008 9:13 am   [link to this entry]

Oh my cats, my friend, Skeezix, told me to go to his blog and watch a pirate movie.

Guess what?

I'm in the movie! That is right - I'm an actor in the movie, and I don't even remember trying out for it! MOL!

You can see it here on Mawmee's blog.

Thanks Skeez for letting me know! I would like to thank the acatemy . . . . . . . . .

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgg!

September 17th 2008 6:10 am   [link to this entry]

I just met my new brother from another mother who isn't really a family member.

Dang, he is tiny and got into all our faces! We were all staring as he ran around the living room. We're having a family meeting later to decide if he should walk the plank on Pirate Day tomorrow!

Gleek is the only one who hisses at him. I think I'm scared of him! He is playing with all the toys!

And he doesn't want to stay in the bathroom - he knows how to climb a baby gate!

We're in real trouble, I tell you, real trouble . . . . . . . . . . . .

Worldly Mancats!

September 12th 2008 8:35 pm   [link to this entry]

My Pal of the Week is one cool , worldly mancat! Do you know Taz? He is 19 years old, and looks a lot like me - he is my hero! I sure hope I live until I'm 19!

Taz and his family are some of the best dressed cats on Catster! I love looking at his wardrobe, but apparently he isn't too crazy about all the dressing up. I get his drift cause I'm not too crazy about it either. It's just something we have to do because we're both worldly mancats.

He is a real Daddy's boy because his Daddy found him as a stray and saved his life. He calls his Mom, WS which means wicked stepmom! That cracks me up!

Taz just recently bought one of the beds Mawmee had in her Etsy shop. It is called I Love Ewe and he really wanted it because he loves sheep! Check out his picture in Mawmee's Cat in the Clover blog - doesn't he look pawsome?

A few weeks ago, Taz's sister, Flinders, went to the Rainbow Bridge. She was 20 years old. They must be eating right to live such long lives. We were sad when we heard she became an angel.

Taz has a girlfriend - the beautiful Catsy! They both adore each other. Catsy was very excited when she saw that Taz is my pal of the week.

Thanks for being a worldly mancat, Taz, and for being my Pal of the Week . . . . . . . . . . .

Adding to the Duties!

September 8th 2008 9:07 am   [link to this entry]

As you all know, I'm the Marketing Manager and ENTM for Mawmee's Etsy Shop. You don't know what ENTM means? It's Etsy's Next Top Model.

Well, apparently, having those two jobs isn't enough. So, I've taken on the duties of Personal Trainer to the Owner - that would be Mawmee.

Since I go up and down the stairs several times a day, I'm very qualified to do this job. However, I consulted with Violet because he climbs and gets good exercise doing it, so I knew he would be able to help me. He said that Cardio is King, and that I needed to work some cardio into Mawmee's routine.

I have her doing the scoop, stir, and squat every two hours when she feeds me. And I also have her on the squat, scoop, and sweep routine when she cleans out the litter boxes.

But, I needed to kick it up a notch. I did just that this morning at 4:30! We began the cardio exercises by making sure the room was nice and dark - 4:30 seems to be a perfect time. Then I pick some random place on the floor, and start making exercise noises so that she knows what is going on. You know the sound . . . . . . . .

blah . . . . . blah . . . . . blah . . . . .

She recognized it right away as her cardio wake-up call! In no time, she flew out of bed, grabbed her exercise towel and began hunting me down all the while yelling to knocked out Daddy, get the flashlight, hurry. Apparently she likes to do her cardio with lights on.

She began stooping and feeling the ground . . . . . . listening for my instructions on where to find me. Blah . . . . . blah . . . . . blah.

Her heart started racing . . . . . . . that's when the cardio kicks in . . . . . .would she get to me in time . . . . . . would the blob on the bed get the flashlight on in time . . . . . . . I'm very proud!

Just as the flojectile started to leave my mouth, she got the towel under me! And then the flashlight came on - too little, too late, thank you very much, Daddy!

I think she thoroughly enjoyed this cardio work out, and I plan on doing more of them in the future.

Did You Guess?

September 5th 2008 11:28 am   [link to this entry]

Arnold P. and Hazel Lucy guessed, and they got it right!

Talk Like a Pirate Day is coming up in a couple of weeks - September 19th!

So, start practicing your Arrrrg's and Matey's!

I wonder how a pirate would say Knead On?

Gearing Up!

September 4th 2008 6:15 pm   [link to this entry]

I'm getting ready.

I'm practicing.

It's gonna be here in two weeks. Two weeks from tomorrow.

I've got friends that know how to do it. They do it everyday.

I've got a prop to wear to help me on that day.

Do you know what it is?

I'll tell you tomorrow . . . . . . . . . . . .

Big, Green Soulful Eyes!

September 3rd 2008 4:44 pm   [link to this entry]

That's how my Pal of the Week gets his way and whatever he wants - using those pawsome eyes! I think Murray and I have that in common - MOL!

Murray . . . . . . . . hmmmmm . . . . . . . I wonder how he got that name? Do you think he was named for the dog that was in that show Mad About You?

Do you think he was named for that guy that was in the Mary Tyler Moore show?

I have no idea why he was named Murray, but he is one cool cat. And his Daddy is pawsome too, because when they had Tiki half price at their store, his Daddy was buying it for all his friends and shipping it to them! He shipped me some! We both crave the Tiki goodness!

Murray has a brother, Willie, and a sister named Pearl. Murray was there first, then Willie came along to keep Murray company, and then Pearl did the soulful eye thing and got a forever home too.

Hey, one of Murray's nicknames is Pumpkin - so is mine! He is also a big mama's boy just like me!

One thing Murray doesn't like is to wear hats! He is still a young boy, and doesn't realize you have to give in to stuff like hats, wigs, and costumes.

Be sure to stop by and become one of Murray's friends if you aren't already! Thanks for being my Pal of the Week, Murray . . . . . .

Beware - PRW!

September 2nd 2008 7:50 pm   [link to this entry]

Okay, cats, I've got an important one for you tonight.

PRW

Parents are watching!

Dang, doesn't it seem like they're always watching us? You can't go to the spaceship without someone checking to make sure your poopies look okay!

And they're always hovering over you when you eat to make sure you clean your plate!

And they even watch you when you're taking a nap because you look all cute and everything.

I've warned you - now get out there and tell your siblings . . . . . PRW . . . . . . . .

It's In the Juice!

August 31st 2008 11:33 am   [link to this entry]

I've decided that I want to eat every two hours. I don't eat much each time, but two hours is about my tummy's limit on feeling full. Since that kidney food is a little thick, I've been getting some Tiki juice added to it along with a little water.

Here is the ritual - and I'm not as bad as Rocky Ann who gets spoon fed - MOL!

1. Stand around crying until someone comes into the kitchen.

2. Paw at Mawmee's leg while she fixes my food.

3. Violet stands nearby and watches me eat.

4. Mawmee periodically has to spoon the food in a pile because I lick it flat, and then I can't pick it up with my mouth.

5. Violet gets to lick the spoon each time my food gets piled up.

6. Gleek sometimes tries to butt in and see what I'm eating, but he doesn't even like wet food!

7. Samoa hovers around waiting for something too. She usually gets a few treats.

I'm special, and I know it . . . . . . . .

Happy Birthday POTW!

August 30th 2008 5:46 am   [link to this entry]

Today my Pal of the Week is having her first birthday! Happy birthday, Isis. Since her name is made of two is's, I thought I'd tell you what Isis is.

Isis is:

1. A girl

I need to get a job! Apparently, I've become an expensive cat with my special-needs food! I think Spunky is more expensive than me because of all his chemo treatments. Why isn't he required to get a job?

Anyway, I've decided to go into marketing. It seems like an easy job. All I have to do is tell you that Mawmee opened up an Etsy shop.

What is an Etsy shop, you ask? Well, it's some place on the internet where all the stuff is handmade.

Mawmee's shop is all about cat and dog beds. In fact, her first sale was to our friend Kittanna. She bought a doggie bed for her relative for a Christmas present.

If you don't like our beds, be sure to check out Morgan's Beds. His Mommy has an Etsy shop too.

I don't mind advertising her shop because her beds are pretty pawsome - there is even one named after me - and I own it!

Not only am I into marketing, I'm also the model on the shop's banner - just like Morgan models in his shop.

Dang, I forgot I already had that modeling gig. I don't think I got paid for it either . . . . . . . . .

NBLFY!

August 25th 2008 12:45 pm   [link to this entry]

I thought it was time to teach you cats some new lingo.

I'd like to give NBLFY to the Diary Gal today for picking me! Do you know what that means, Diary Gal?

Nothin' but love for you!

I got NBLFY for my friends too, and they crack me up with their messages!

Lancelot accused me of cupcaking with the Diary Gal - MOL!

And Hazel Lucy signs her rosette, Friend Girl!

You all have made my day extra special. Thanks! Now, I'm gonna take a nap . . . . . . . . .

Do you know the Registered Kitty Nurse? She is my Pal of the Week - she is Margo!

Did you know Margo only has three legs? She was involved in a bad accident and lost her leg. But that was before she got to her forever home. And she has gotten so much love from her Mommy that she doesn't even miss her leg!

Did you know Margo has a boyfriend? She is a cougar because he is only two years old, and she is four! His name is Micheal or as she calls him, Mikey - her troo Lub!

Did you know Margo has 32,984 friends? Dang, she is one friendly girl!

Did you know Margo looks like the sister I've never met named Sugar? She does!

Did you know Margo likes a lot of attention? We're a lot alike when it comes to that!

Did you know Margo gets the zoomies every day? She runs around and plays with all her toys. I get the zoomies too - after I do a poopie!

Did you know Margo has a gazillion blue Febreze collars? That's because she has 32,984 friends!

I'm glad that I'm one of Margo's friends. If you aren't - you're missing out, so go become her 32,985th friend right now!

Thanks for being my Pal of the Week Margo . . . . . . . . . .

Good Answer, Good Answer!

Daddy is home from his stress test. He passed with flying colors! Thanks to all our friends for your support.

Now, wanna hear something funny?

Yesterday in the ER, everytime the nurse sent blood to the lab, she had to verify that some stranger hadn't come in and taken Daddy's place on the bed.

So, she asked him his name and his birthday each time. One of those times, Mawmee followed it up with this question:

And who do you love more than anyone else in the world?

Here was his answer:

Calvin!

MOL! I'll bet Mawmee thought he was gonna say her name! Why, of course, he loves me the best. I'm his personal alarm clock and love bug!

We're glad you're going to be okay Daddy. Now, where is my lunch?

Stressed Out!

August 19th 2008 5:06 pm   [link to this entry]

Daddy is going to get stressed tomorrow. He needs a stress test because he thought he was having a heart attack this morning.

Some big dudes came to the house and took him away in a truck with a red light on top.

I was on the bed screaming - don't take him yet, he hasn't given me my breakfast!

Mawmee took care of us before she went to the hospital. We were glad to see him come home about 6 hours later. Everything checked out okay at the hospital, but the lady in the white coat said he should go see some heart doctor and get his heart checked out just to be sure.

They have to go really early in the morning, so I plan to make sure they get up even earlier so that I don't miss out on a meal.

Diary Gal Must Be On a Diet Too!

August 17th 2008 4:03 pm   [link to this entry]

Wowza, I'm a diary pick today! I think that Diary Gal must be sympathizing with me because I've got to eat special food.

She is probably on a diet and has to eat special junk like salads instead of burgers. I can feel her pain because I've got to eat kidney food instead of Tiki! It's practically the same situation!

I decided that I wanted to try the Science Diet wet kidney food. Guess what? It's pretty pawsome - at least for now. I goofed the other day in my diary and said I was eating Royal Canin dry, but I'm really eating Purina kidney dry.

Dang, I've been taste testing so many kidney foods, I can't remember what I'm eating! Mawmee says she is going to rotate a couple of the wet foods until I figure out which one I really like. I know for sure that the Purina wet food is, like Heidi would say, Owt!

I want to thank all my friends for honoring me today with the special gifts, rosettes, pmails, and group shout outs!

Have a pawsome week . . . . . . . .

A Royal Canin in my Butt!

August 15th 2008 7:43 pm   [link to this entry]

I've decided I don't like my Royal Canin wet food anymore. It's too soft!

After all, I was Goldilocks for Halloween last year.

The P-Urina kidney wet food is too hard.
The Royal Canin kidney wet food is too soft.

Hmmmmm, I wonder which one will be just right?

The real reason I don't like it anymore is because I want to see Mawmee take back the 12 cans of Royal Canin that she just switched out for the Purina she took back to the vet.

They're gonna think she is a crazy nut - MOL!

I'm still loving the Royal Canin dry kidney food. But, I noticed that the bag is ginormous and it can't be returned, so I might have to stop eating it and insist on another variety.

You're allowed to do stuff like this when you're as cute as I am . . . . . .

Papa's Got a Brand New Bag!

August 14th 2008 9:25 pm   [link to this entry]

Mawmee came home with a big bag of new dry food - just for me! She wasn't happy that they didn't have any samples of the dry kidney food because she had a feeling she would buy it, and then I wouldn't like it.

So, before she bought it, she felt through the bag to determine the size of the pieces. I like little pieces of dry food. No shapes. Just little pieces. And these felt like little pieces to her.

Tonight I got my first taste of the Purina NF Kidney food. I think the NF stands for No Foolin'. That means there is no foolin' around - you've got to eat, and you've got to like it!

And guess what?

I liked it! I ate a whole thing! Mawmee had to guard me while I ate it because big fat pigs were trying to get to my bowl. The pigs have names - Violet and Gleek - MOL!

Mawmee was very pleased and excited to see me eat the dry food. When she told Daddy, he said, well, he always likes something new for the first day - let's see what happens tomorrow!

Okay, let's see . . . . . . . . . .

The First Two Letters of Purina . . . . . .

August 13th 2008 8:19 am   [link to this entry]

P - U

That is what I think of my Purina kidney food! Give me back my Tiki! Daddy fed me this morning. When Mawmee came downstairs he told her we had a problem.

The problem is I don't like that thick gross food anymore - even when you add water and try to make it appealing! I can smell the others eating Tiki - no fair!!

So, selection #2 was tried - Royal Canin Modified Formula!

Modified? Modified from what? I think the original Tiki would be better than anything that has been modified.

Uhhhh, wait a minute, this modified stuff isn't bad! It's much softer in texture and easier to eat.

Bring on the Royal Canin! Mawmee called the vet and had them hold the 12 cans they have of it. She'll be swapping out with the eight cans of Purina that I don't like anymore.

I'm sure there will be more to this story . . . . . . . . . .

Out With the Tiki - In With the Purina Kidney Food!

August 8th 2008 7:48 am   [link to this entry]

It looks like all my Tiki will now be eaten by the other cats. Bummer!

Mawmee opened up the Purina kidney food last night. That stuff is dense! She gave me a little, added some water to it, and broke it into nice bite-sized pieces.

I gobbled it down! That stuff is pawsome! Early, early this morning, I started my Chinese talking - Ha . . . . . . .roooow Ha. . . . . . . . roooow
I was getting my Olympic talk ready, and then Violet told me we aren't going to watch the Olympics this year. Bummer!

Daddy felt sorry for me doing my Chinese talking, so he came downstairs and brought me up to the bedroom. I told him I was hungry and needed my kidney food right now!

My tummy gets hungry every few hours. I think this kidney deal might turn out okay because I'm already getting more attention and more food. I got two breakfasts! I was the only cat to get a second breakfast. Violet sat there staring at me wondering why he wasn't eating a second breakfast. I told him you have to have weak kidneys before you get a second breakfast.

I'm hoping for two lunches today too . . . . . . . . . . .

Give Up Tiki?

August 7th 2008 7:25 am   [link to this entry]

OMC, OMC, OMC, OMC - I have to give up Tiki?

My doctor called with my blood results. I'm in the very early stages of kidney disease.

Dang!

She said my BUN is elevated. Well, yesterday it was but she was scratching it near my tail, so of course it was elevated! Your normal BUN is supposed to be 36 and mine is 49.

Some other dumb number was elevated too - creatinine. That number is supposed to be 2.4 and mine is 3.0.

She said I have to try either Hills KD or Purina NF. I know I'm not going to like either one of those. I just know it!

In a month, she will recheck my blood. I think I'm gonna spend the day in mourning.

The Biggest Rabbit in the World!

August 6th 2008 5:01 pm   [link to this entry]

I'm back from the vet's office! You'll have to check out my slideshow to see how I did today. I'll be adding it to my page in a few minutes.

There was the most ginormous bunny in the lobby. He weighed more than Gleek!

I got taken back to an exam room. They put me in some dog exam room because it had Woof, bark, Grrr on the wall. I wanted to be in the cat room, but I forgot all about that when I saw Sarah come in the room.

Sarah is my vet tech, and she told me that she and Leslie got in a big fist fight because they both wanted to take care of me today. I'm glad Sarah won. She is my favorite, but for some dumb reason she asked about Rocky first.

Hey, we're not gonna talk about the dog. I need to tell you about my new spaceship and Tiki cat food! Dang, Sarah had never heard of the Litter-Robot or Tiki. She must be from some foreign country.

I got weighed next, and I'm 10 lbs - just what I was in January, so she was happy. I like to keep Sarah happy. She listened to my heart and looked at some clock while she did it. Then she did something to me that I'm not going to talk about, but you all know what it is!

Then she went to get my doctor. The doctor couldn't wait to get in the room to see me. Can you believe she had never heard of Litter-Robot either? She listened to my heart because she has to make sure Sarah knows what she is doing. My heart is ticking good.

The torture was next. They did it right in the room in front of Mawmee. Even Sarah closed her eyes when the doctor did the torture. Check out the picture and you'll see Sarah closing her eyes and praying for me! A huge needle went in my neck. I moved because you would move too if a huge needle went in your neck! So, I got stuck AGAIN! Double torture! She took a whole bottle of blood from my neck. I'll find out tomorrow what is in my blood.

I got some stuff to sprinkle on my food to make my bones big and strong. I need strong bones so I can tackle that ginormous bunny in the lobby. I think he could take me.

Then I went out to see Kerry. She wanted my money, but I told her I don't have a job, so she made Mawmee pay. While I was waiting in my carrier on the floor near the creepy lizard, some little girl came over and was gonna unzip my carrier. She was there with her dog, and I yelled, get those dog hands off my carrier. I'm going home, and I don't have time to play with you right now.!

I'm so popular that even the other clients schedule their appointments around my yearly visit . . . . . . . . . .

To the Vet!

August 6th 2008 7:51 am   [link to this entry]

Every year, whether I like it or not, the gals in my vet office want to see me.

They sent me a postcard when I was on staycation telling me it was that time. I was hoping since it is already August, and I'm supposed to go in July, that we could skip it this year, but no way, Jose!

So this afternoon, I'll be visiting my pretty doctor. I wonder if the eagle will be there? Or the bunnies?

I can't wait to tell the vet tech about Tiki. They always ask what I eat, and last year I wasn't eating Tiki. I'm sure they'll discover that Tiki has made me a better cat.

I might let my photographer take pictures of me at the vet's office. I'll update you later on how I did . . . . . . . . . .

Happy Birthday POTW!

August 5th 2008 12:46 pm   [link to this entry]

Today is my Pal of the Week's third birthday! Happy Birthday, Scooter!

Scooter and his brother are ragdolls and they are good friends too. They were the very first mystery that started the Samoa Detective Agency - remember the Blue Brothers? They are really good ARG's!

I have a confession to make. Sometimes things like this happen when you get old like me and when you're getting ready to go on staycation.

I don't send out a lot of birthday gifts because I don't have a job and it's hard to get a job where you can sleep most of the day. Before I went on my staycation, I looked to see who was having a birthday while I was gone.

I noticed my friend, Scooter, was having a birthday today. So, I wrapped up a cheap gift and sent it to Scooter with a note that she couldn't open it until today.

Did you see where I said she? OOPS!!!

I sent the gift to this Scooter because I knew she was gonna be really old on her next birthday - 20! Now, that Scooter isn't gonna be 20 until October. I guess I was a little early - MOL!

So, back to the Scooter that is having a birthday today! Just like most of my Pals of the Week, we have some things in common:

1. Scooter likes being the center of attention.

2. He isn't afraid of much. I'm the only one in this house that isn't afraid of the spaceship!

3. We've both been Cat of the Week!

4. We both have fireplaces, but Scooter has a ritual he does that is very cool - check out his video!

I hope your birthday is super duper pawsome, and that you and Nikko are both feeling better so you can celebrate! Thanks for being my Pal of the Week . . . . . . . . . . .

Word Up!

August 3rd 2008 9:28 pm   [link to this entry]

With all these blue collars that are flying around Catster, I thought I'd better give you a new word to use.

Flirtationship

It means that you like to regularly cupcake with an acquaintance or friend girl, but nothing more.

Another word from the past that seems to fit really good with these Febreze collars is farticles - remember that one?

So, quit standing around selling popcorn and give out some of those freebie collars to your friend girls. After all, they have a heart on them and that screams flirtationship . . . . . . . . . .

I'm Back and Smellin' Sweet!

August 2nd 2008 7:22 pm   [link to this entry]

I'm back from my staycation!

Wowza! When I got to the homepage, I saw all these f's - we all had 'em, and I had no idea what it was until I went to my page and saw a gazillion blue collars. The smell was enough to make me gag - a little Febreze goes a long way - MOL!

Thanks to all my sweet friends for making my page smell good. I hope I wasn't the first cat you thought of when you saw those collars. I can hear it now,

Look at that cool, new, free special gift! Now, who do I know that is a little stinker and could use some freshening up? I've got it - Calvin!

Karen, my non-Catster catsitter, left Tiki in the refrigerator, so you can bet I didn't get overfed this staycation!

I was super duper happy to see that Mr. D has come home! What a miracle - yipppeeeeeeeeeeeeee! His family must be so very happy, and I'll bet he will never be allowed outside again! Welcome home, Mr. D! We couldn't be happier for you and your family!

I'm also purring for my friends Cole and Ashley. I was very sad to see they are not doing very well, and I hope they know lots of friends are sending healing and comforting purrs their way.

Purrs ~

Staycation #2

July 23rd 2008 7:26 pm   [link to this entry]

We're gonna be on another staycation starting Friday for a whole week!

Karen, our non-Catster catsitter, will be watching us. Somebody told her not to feed me as much Tiki as last time. Bummer! I think the reason we ran out of Tiki wasn't because I was getting too much, but because she was also giving Tiki to Spunky and Sugar and they were supposed to get Fancy Feast!

But now that we have Tiki in our town, there isn't a problem if we run out. And Mawmee bought a bunch of it, so it is all labeled in the refrigerator as to who gets what!

Karen, our non-Catster catsitter, hasn't seen our spaceship yet. I can't wait to tell her about the mysterious alien. The alien peed in the spaceship today, and it didn't got into orbit until Mission Control hit the launch button!

We'll be seeing you in a week - can you guess from our pages where our Mawmee and Daddy are going on their vacation?

Bon Voyage . . . . . . . . . . . .

P.S. I'll be leaving Maggie Moo as my Pal of the Week until I get back from staycation!

My POTW is an Angel Now

July 21st 2008 6:14 pm   [link to this entry]

I'm very sad tonight because my Pal of the Week made her journey to the Rainbow Bridge today. Please send your purrs to Maggie Moo's family during this sad time.

I want to tell you about Maggie Moo's most favorite toy. When she went to her forever home, the lady that found Maggie Moo gave her a stuffed mousie with a rope tail and a tiny bell on the back. Maggie Moo has had that toy for 16 years. She thought the mousie toy was her baby, and she carried him around, groomed him, and slept with him.

The baby mousie was lost for a few days, and Maggie Moo was depressed. I'm so happy that her Mommy found the baby mousie and Maggie Moo got to see him again before she made her journey to the bridge.

Maggie Moo was sweet 16 when she became an angel. I know she has many angel friends who greeted her at the bridge. She can play and have a pawsome time at the rainbow until the day when she sees her family again.

Rest in peace, sweet Maggie Moo. Thanks for being a good friend to me, and thanks for being my Pal of the Week . . . . . . . .

I Feel Like Sally Field!

July 20th 2008 8:41 am   [link to this entry]

You like me . . . . . . . . you really like me!

Dang, have you seen my page? I'm going to open up a cupcake bakery! I had the most pawsome birthday of my life, and all my pals are the reason why it was a great day!

Thanks so much for making me feel loved . . . . . . . . .

My Rebirthday!

July 19th 2008 6:10 am   [link to this entry]

Woo hoo - I'm 17 today! Today is my re-birthday - the day I was reborn and saved from the death chamber! You all know the story, so I won't bore you with the terrible details, but for the past 6 years, I've lived the life of luxury. I'm so glad to be spending my special day with all the great friends I've made at Catster!

One of those friends is also celebrating a birthday today! Today my Pal of the Week is celebrating her birthday too - Happy Birthday Pearl!

If you look at Pearl's main picture, you'll see that she has a car just like mine! She is way too young to drive, but she lives in New York, and I think cats are allowed to do things earlier than they are in Kentucky!

I'm cracking up at Pearl's brothers, Murray and Willie - they are wearing Hello Kitty party hats today! The numero uno thing that Pearl and I have in common is our favorite food - Tiki! She also eats Wellness dry and so do I. I predict Pearl will live a long life eating the Tiki goodness!

Another thing Pearl and I have in common besides our birthdays, and our love of Tiki is being very vocal when it's time to eat. I don't think there is anything wrong with that because how else are you gonna get their attention? Pearl has some pawsomely big eyes too - just like me.

If Pearl was orange, we might be twins! I hope you have a great birthday, Pearl - thanks for being my Pal of the Week!

Thanks also to all my friends who are making my 17th birthday so pawsome! I got a new basketball bed from Rocky Ann. I guess that means I'll have to give Violet his football bed back - MOL! I also go some neat-o Weruva cat food and Bobble Chix from Merlin the Cat Wizard. And Boogers and family sent me a big 'ole can of Kitty Kaviar, Meow Mix Go Fish, and a Kitty Hoots Springy Worm!

I sure have a lot of cool rosettes and special gifts on my page too - thank you to everycat who has been stopping by and making my page so birthday pawsome today.

I want to send a birthday shout out to a human friend girl of mine. Her name is Sarah and she is 12 years old today. Happy Birthday, Sarah!

I'll be having a great birthday today because of all of you - have a fun weekend . . . . . . . . .

Tagarooni

July 15th 2008 7:55 pm   [link to this entry]

I've been tagged about a gazillion times, so I'm going to combine a couple of the tags I've gotten.

Here are six things I don't like:

1. Loud talking
2. Riding in the car
3. Getting my butt wiped
4. When Samoa hits me
5. When my friends get sick
6. Getting older

Here are six things I wish I was allowed to do:

I can't think of anything because I'm allowed to do whatever I want because I'm the oldest, and I'm the cutest . . . . . . . . . . . .

Word Up!

Okay, cats, I've got a new word for you today! It is one of my favorites of all the words I've taught you.

T
